LeGOATski
Papa John's was one of the better fast food pizzas for a little while, but it went to ****. I haven't eaten PJ's, Domino's, PH, etc in a long time. There are better local options that are negligibly pricier.

Local options are always better than the chains but I haven't found any that come close to the quality/price ratio as Pizza Hutt's $7.99 large 2 topping. Even Little Sleazers $5 Hot N Ready is tolerable when you're in a hurry. Edited July 12, 2018 by /dev/null
Pine Barrens Mafia
So the man who, through his own blood sweat and tears, built a company from nothing to nationwide status is out of his own company after using an offensive word? No one forced John to take his company public and no one forced him to make racist comments that could lose many people money and jobs. He got what he deserved yet you seem to be defending him.

Soda Popinski
if you're eating chain pizza you are doing it wrong. I have 3-4 mom and pop pizzerias within a 20 minute drive that all make a very superior pizza to anything mass produced. Hell I made one the other night at the house with store bought pizza dough and ingredients that is preferable to any chain pizza.

And it's not like you're comparing NY to Chicago (NOT pizza) here, there's similar pie to be had in Jersey as to what you'd find in NY. In many cases, BETTER. I, for one, love boardwalk pie. plenzmd1
for a chain pizza..Dominos Brooklyn is pretty decent. Need to order about an hour before you want to eat..let it cool, then reheat to get the crust the right texture..but it is a decent pie! BTW Joe..it dont matter that the dude started his company..he sold it to the public moons ago. When you do that, you hand over complete control(depending on structure) ..his board thought this was best decision for the shareholders....agree or not agree, that is the way it works. Dude at Uber out too..he built that from nothing as well...ya takes other peoples money..thats the deal Edited July 12, 2018 by plenzmd1

Dude at Uber out too..he built that from nothing as well...ya takes other peoples money..thats the deal I understand the mechanics of how it works, that's not the issue. I'm questioning the motivations and societal reasons behind it. Let me put it to you this way: One cannot be for the free speech of employees of the NFL who engage in behavior that is offensive to some, while simultaneously being against the free speech of and employee of papa john's who engages in behavior offensive to some. It's logically inconsistent. Edited July 12, 2018 by joesixpack

Kaep was an employee of the San Francisco 49ers and no longer has a job. Schattner was an employee of Papa John's shareholders and no longer has a job. Both are presumably out of work because of things they did/said. At its simplest, that's what it boils down to. Details only confuse the matter. I agree with the part of details confusing the matter but one of the details is super funny. He was in a role play so he could actually claim he didn't make a racial slur in a meaningful way. I suppose it can be argued both ways. His use involved claiming "Colonel Sanders used to call black people ******". Funny part?: CNN called KFC for comment. How on Earth is KFC supposed to comment on a possibly completely made up comment about a guy who has been dead for 2,500 yeas?
apuszczalowski
Theres a difference between the 2, in one case, the person said something that was intended to be insulting or offensive to another just because. The other one decided not to do something as part of a stance against a cause and some have decided to take offence to it because of they believe it to be for other reasons. Had the Poppa John's guy made the comment as a protest against the treatment of Italians in America, maybe it would be similar. As for the hip hop community and African Americans using the 'N' word regularly but being offended when others use it, when they say it to each other, it's not taken or used as a derogatory or offensive term. When a white person uses the term, it's most likely used to be offensive or derogatory to someone else. Personally, I believe that if you really want to get rid of those types of words, you need to stop using them altogether.
