Nick Foles Would Love the Opportunity to Start Again

I always thought his age was a huge reason not to draft him. Same thing with Chris Weinke. However, I'm more of a proponent of youth. But that is true, his talent undid him right away, or lack there of, not solely his age.

Now, would I draft a 29year old QB? -Probably not... Definitely not in t he first round... That's not Foles' situation.... He's now a seasoned, Journeyman, with a superbowl ring he earned... If he were 32 or 33 I'd still sign him if I thought he could help my team.

philly is being cocky, they forgot how pathetic their defense is, probably the worst performance by a defense in superbowl history.  They can't afford to have Foles on the bench and get nothing for him next year when they could get a solid rookie starter for the guy and pray they can sneak back into the superbowl.

Please no, such a risk, his value is multitudes higher than at any other point in his career, he did a great job in the playoffs but took over a 13-3 team with a 2nd year QB under center, he's been just average for the rest of his career, he could be the next Kurt Warner but most likely not.

The Bills by themselves had two worse superbowls and only gave up three points less in another. What the hell are you talking about? Worst performance by a defense. You're flat out wrong... 52 points?

He’s me plan B. Give up a 2019 2nd rounder after the draft.  Fill 6 holes with our picks.  Give him a 3 year deal.

Let the best man win the job

Philly has already rejected this offer. It's convenient to think you can just make what you want happen, but it takes two teams to agree to a trade, and Philly won't agree to this.

No one else is beating down their door. So that might be the best and only offer they get.  Which may change things.

If it’s more than a 2nd, nope

Foles for a third and build around him sounds like a stellar plan. Been my hope for a while. He does not have a lot of miles and even when he was “bad,” he was on pace for a better year than we’ve seen here in a long time.

Make the trade race on draft day unless getting the guy they want is cheap.

Aim higher. Decent starter isn't what Beane is going for.

Believe me, I will be pulling for whoever they put back there... however, I used the term "decent starter" as a minimum for Foles.  He has as high a ceiling in the NFL as any of these top 6 prospects do...and we have actually seen him perform at a very high level during his NFL career.  I understand the appeal of drafting a guy, believe me I do.  But I also understand the repercussions of whiffing on that pick.  If one of the big name prospects slides down to #12, I'd be thrilled to get one of them...but man, the price-tag is really high for a game of chance.

At 29 years old and several seasons into his career Foles sure seems to be taking his sweet time sustaining anything close to showing his "ceiling" on any kind of consistent basis.

Perhaps...but his development was pretty stunted in St Louis and KC...he finally got a chance to start again, and took full advantage.  I don't think a guy plays the way he did in the playoffs, and it is just a fluke.

It's never about the flash. Rather the question is sustainability and consistency at the QB position with an ability to lift the play of teammates.  Foles simply isn't that guy and I don't believe he's worth sacrificing precious draft capital to acquire his services.

I actually see a potential QB controversy brewing in Philly.  If Foles starts the season because Wentz is not quite ready, he could pick up where he left off and have success.  Then, if Wentz returns and does not do well because he is not yet 100%, (he may not be all season) Eagles fans will grow restless quickly and want Foles back in as starter.

I know Wentz is a better QB, but I could easily see this happening.

That is the rub....I suspect that you would be sacrificing far less precious draft capital for his services, than you would be for a player who you really have no idea can do the things you want him to do.

Anyways, I will be excited with whatever happens...I just don't think signing Foles is the worst idea.

The new regime under Beane has faith in their college scouts as well as the coaching staff to bring out the best in whichever QB they wind up drafting.  That's what this is all about.

If Foles got traded he would get a new contract. If he stays in Philly I 100% predict a hold out.

Foles will not hold out...he will play out the last year of his contract in Philly, and then hit the free-agent market in 2019.

In the game they gave up 52 points, the Bills turned the ball over 9 times. The Cowboys should have had 59 if not for Leon Lett's showboating.
