Mass hysteria, mostly.

True.  98 Senators voted for it in 2001 (1 against and 1 abstaining).  Even after the mass hysteria, it was renewed in 2006 with 89 Senators voted for it (10 against - 9 Dems and 1 Independent).  Now I have to take my fricken shoes off at airport security.

Uh, not me?  What's your point?

You used a Franklin quote about giving up liberty for freedom deserves neither and seemed to imply that every leftist idea is to "give up some security for more security."  Meanwhile,  a Republican controlled Congress, Senate, and presidency passed the Patriot Act that which has been the biggest threat to our 1st and 4th amendment freedoms since 9/11.

It's been almost two decades since that time, so many will never get their due for their malfeasance.  A few like McCain will, however.  The scandal isn't partisan.  Clapper and Brennan are a consistent thread.

An illustration for you:

________________________D_______R_________________________________________________________________________________________

See that line?  Imagine it's the left/right political line.  Modern Democrats sit right around that D.

As far as I can tell, modern Republicans sit right around that R.

So Republicans are "right" in only a relative sense.

At least, that's how I see it.

I understand it's not a partisan scandal.  I just thought it was a dumb post by Levi.

What world are you living in that the Republican party is anything but leftist?  Get back in the Delorean, Doc, you belong 50 years in the past.

Socialism is not the story in Venezuela. It's a corrupt government run by people who want to be above the law. Sound familure? It should, Trump praising every blood thirsty dictator on the planet shows how jealous he is of these people.

Ya, those deficit inducing tax cuts, the attempts to steal health care from millions and the automatic deference to the lords of the NRA are really left leaning

Sounds like a lot of right wing dictatorships also. The contempt for democracy and the rule of law are the key factors. Those features of corrupt government are ideologically blind. Trump...

So all you complaint about this corrupt government have said nothing at all about the law suit against Trump's violation of the emoluments section of the constitution. I guess that's ok for him to be corrupt because he is a bigot.

Well, you knew it was only a matter of time before he had another "hold my beer" moment to assert his supremacy over the dipSchiffs who lately have been trying to take his title.
