Ken Dorsey to the Bills?

OK, so I'm not going to make a Dunkirk Don style prediction here because I don't have his "inside sources".... But I live in Charlotte. Just had a client who lives in Dorsey's neighborhood (same neighborhood Coach McD lived in when he was here) and is fairly close with the Dorsey's. She saw my Bills cup on my desk this morning and said it sounds like they're coming to Buffalo. Wife isn't happy about the cold, haha. It'll be interesting to see.

Can't say I'll be surprised, nor will anybody. What are your thoughts? I know I've seen some posts on here that some guys would like to have him if we're going to draft a young QB.

he worked with Joe Webb when he worked for the IMG Academy....so looks like our QB of the future is already on the team!!!! Alrite, now we can use the draft capital to build around Joe Webb!!

In all seriousness...I would be so-so on the hire. Was a good college QB, not an NFL QB , and has only worked with Cam Newton with limited success as an NFL Passer

We live in NH and my wife wants to GTFO and move south because of the miserable weather, even though we both have a great thing going here. So I get where Mrs.Dorsey is coming from.

That said, Ken's going to be too busy with work to even pay attention to her anyway. If it were me I'd rent her a Florida condo until spring.

I like it a lot. The Bills QB coach right now was the KC WR coach. You absolutely should have a QB coach, coaching QBs.

I would love it, and feel it would be essential for Daboll to add a well regarded QB coach to the staff. Keep Culley and move into a different title or AHC.

Dorsey is a well regarded QB Coach?

That is my problem with the potential hire....what has Dorsey done that makes him a good QB coach?

Cam was the MVP of the league 2 years ago?

Also, asked another way, what has Culley done as a QB coach? It certainly is an upgrade.

Exactly what I was thinking.  Maybe Culley will go back to coaching wrs.

oh yea I am all for an upgrade at QB coach (although it can be argued Culley learned a lot about coaching QBs from the QB whisperer Andy Reid), I am just not all for "upgrading" for the sake of changing.

I would prefer a more seasoned QB coach who has a history with different QBs, instead of Ken Dorsey who has only ever coached Cam Newton with mixed results.

I wouldnt hate the hire, but it wouldn't wow me

You'll just be trading miserable in the winter for miserable in the summer.  I have a lot of relatives in South Carolina. They literally are held prisoner by Air Conditioning from 10AM to 6PM from May through September...not my kind of life...

Yeah. It's pretty freaking brutal from Mid-June through the end of August. I went to the Bills game here in week two. Good god it was awful.

I think he is generally regarded as a guy that really understands the position. He played it at a high level in college and played a few years in the NFL with pretty much zero athletic ability or talent. He had a noodle arm, so he got everything he could by being smart and good technique. That's the kind of guy I want as my quarterback coach. He is very strong with the cerebral side of the game. He also has a background in pro scouting. He is generally credited with doing a lot for Cam Newton in terms of technique etc.

I also like the idea of some young blood on the staff.

hmmmm...if he was doing so great with Cam I wonder why they fired him (not being an a$$, truly wondering)...I didn't know he was well regarding or credited for Cam's "development" so I guess I will have to take your word for it
