BrotherChazz
If this is a who we want thread and not who we think they'll bring in, why do they have to be realistic? Kinda negates the entire thread.
napmaster
Bring back Greg Roman. Unfortunately, I doubt he'd come back. Resume: Made Buffalo the #1 rushing offense. He called Rex a buffoon. Made Sammy cry to the Pegulas. I would love to see him have a another shot, this time with the new McD/Beane culture and not the Ryan Brother's Circus.
blogic2
Bevell threw the ball at the 1 yard line... IN THE SUPER BOWL!! 1

CuddyDark
Depends on the QB we draft. If we draft Rudolph I'd want Chud. If we draft Darnold I'd want McCoy.
thenorthremembers
Its time they found someone who is going to think outside of the box. Outside of maybe Matt Canada, hiring any of these guys would be no different than keeping Dennison. If the reports are correct, Chudzinski's offense is historcially worse than Dennison's and McCoy's is on par and only marginally better in the passing game. ProcessTheTrust
I think Chudzinski is their top choice. McD was there to witness him work with Cam as a rookie and help him transition into the NFL much quicker than most expected.

He's not great at coordinating a passing attack. And I've heard there are issues with his interpersonal and leadership skills. Lynn did better with Roman's plays than Roman because he was (1) a better playcaller and (2) a better leader.

As long as they find a QB it will make anyone we hire look better.
Jerome007
Am I the only puzzled with how unimaginative and all some OC are, either as planners or at play calling? I mean, they did reach that level in the NFL! 5 minutes ago, hondo in seattle said: Roman strength is that he's a guru at run designs. He's not great at coordinating a passing attack. Lynn was much better at play calling yet Roman had made most of the designs. That was a damn good combo!
Mountain Man
I don't want DeFilippo as it seems a 1 year hire who would leave to be a HC, I would prefer someone who we could get at least a few year continuity out of
paulbills
Mccoy is the obvious choice if they can get him.
BrotherChazz
If we're going with established OC's, I'd take Bevell. But DeFillipo and Dorsey are both very intriguing.
Fadingpain
Young, innovative, forward thinking, outside the box, intelligent enough to understand basic statistics theory and rely on it as a part of his play design and calling. Run away from anyone who is "seasoned old school football guy." Their time in this league is expiring.

Mike McCoy - McDs 1st choice last year. System doesn’t change much. 2. Mike Shula - Worked together in Carolina 3. Ken Dorsey - Carolina ties, could bring young perspective and new style philosophies. 4. Rob Chudinski - Worked in Philadelphia together That’s it. I like the Idea of Dorsey... but I think it will be McCoy, Beane May like Shula who knows. If I'm McD this is what I would do... Hire Chud. Let him implement the offense. I'd also hire Dorsey as QB coach. From the get go I let Chud know that while the offense is in his hands 2 of his top priorities should be 1. Grooming the new QB and 2. Grooming Dorsey to take over for him. My vision is this. If Chud comes in and turns around the offense, helps groom this new QB and we have success he will likely be a hot HC candidate withing the next 2-3 seasons. He's already well regarded around the league and many feel if given time he could have done well in Cleveland. We need someone to take over and not start over again. Actual continuity.

GunnerBill
Sean Ryan, John Morton and Brian Daboll are the 3 people I would interview. Bevell, Shula or Dorsey I would live with. Chud would be a no and McCoy is a HELL NO.
hondo in seattle
I won't say I "want" Daboll but I'm intrigued. He was the OC for three NFL teams over the course of four years. He has experience. Then again, his offense never finished above #20 in yards. The intriguing part is that he was an offensive assistant with the Patriots after being an OC. I wonder how much he learned and how much that experience shaped his current coaching philosophy. He didn't work for a slouch last year at Bama, either, by the way. He's had good mentors.
