Murphys  main points were clays dropped  pass and the defense broke down. . Tyrod did NOTHING the whole 2nd half and this slob who will cannot say "Tyrod did not play well" if his life depended on it.

Does he not know, the defense has the only td, that they kept us in the game and it seemed like they were on the field the whole 2nd half??

I dont know how anyone can defend  tyrod as "good enough" or "Average". I cant wait til the season ends and we get the breaking news and that hes gone.

On the channel 4 pregame for the Bills, the announcers were agog that a poll they conducted showed 51% of voters wanted TT back for another season as starter.  Just saying....the opinion is clearly not universally agreed about TT.  He made some mistakes...made some good throws.  Still not doing the TT rollout...which would maximize his skill set.  Dennison is a "system" guy,  TT as a roll out QB isn't part of the system....another words...Dennison can't get to far off his memorized script.

As Bills DE Jerry Hughes entered the locker room after Sunday's loss to New England, ESPN cameras captured him saying, "Somebody in Boston got the refs on the payroll. Y'all paying them big money out here. Still ain't gonna win, though." Hughes was likely referring to Kelvin Benjamin's overturned touchdown late in first half.

Bills WR Kelvin Benjamin told ESPN's Sal Paolantonio that some Bills players on the sideline said, "only the Patriots could get a call like that" after Benjamin's touchdown was overturned late in the first half of Sunday's game.

Yep, I heard a couple Bills at least have called out the refs. Go ahead and take some fines to raise awareness. THAT was BS. The PI call? The TD? Really? That stuff changes games.

I agree and also believe that every owner not named Kraft should donate to cover these fines. Not one on-air personality or unbiased media member has so much as mentioned that as even a decent call. Not saying we win, but that was a morale and momentum changing call. Absolute BS.

In a league where you can call holding or pass interference on virtually every play, the Patriots have 3 penalties for 9 yards in the last 7+ quarters of football. Whatever.

Hey Roger, I know you’re busy counting your money, but are you listening at all?

Very well said and spot on by McCoy. These refs appear to be calling these games with preconceived notions. It almost appears as if the refs believe there is no way the Bills can win thus make calls to ensure it doesn’t happen.

Riveron should not hold the position he has. There was no clear and obvious evidence to over turn it.

Riveron was no good as a ref when he was on the field.  The fact that he sucks in his new position should be a shock to no one

TOP 5 GRADES:

HB LeSean McCoy, 85.3 overall grade

Jordan Poyer, 82.3 overall grade

WR Kelvin Benjamin, 80.8 overall grade

QB Tyrod Taylor, 80.6 overall grade

DI Kyle Williams, 78.3 overall grade

PERFORMANCES OF NOTE:

QB TYROD TAYLOR, 80.6 OVERALL GRADE

Taylor’s final statline looks as if he was fairly inaccurate on the day but he was the culprit of three drops by his receivers and had two throwaways resulting in a respectable 66.7 adjusted completion percentage. Struggling to throw to the intermediate range, Taylor completed just 3-of-9 for 67 yards on passes targeted 10-19 yards downfield. Under pressure, Taylor often took his eyes off the secondary and to the rush resulting in his six sacks, including four by his own accord. He did average 9.3 yards per attempt when under duress but his mishaps taking those sacks for a negative of 39 yards resulted in just 6.7 net yards per attempt under pressure.

RB LESEAN MCCOY, 85.3 OVERALL GRADE

The Pro Bowl running back turned in another excellent game as he used his elite vision and acceleration to find running lanes and make defenders miss in space in the passing game. Outside of just one drop on a swing pass, McCoy was virtually flawless in his execution highlighted by an impressive 39-yard catch and run on a scramble, making three defender miss. McCoy averaged 2.71 yards per route run and Taylor had a passer rating of 106.8 when targeting the star running back.

JORDAN POYER, 82.3 OVERALL GRADE

Poyer was the Bills top defender for the game, playing solid against the run and making a key play in the passing game. Poyer jumped a crossing route with Kenny Britt drifting upfield, allowing him to step in front for the interception and weaving his way to the endzone for a touchdown. He gave up a couple grabs to Rob Gronkowski where he was tight in coverage but beaten by a good throw and catch. In total, Poyer was targeted four times giving up three catches for 32 yards and the pick.

CB LEONARD JOHNSON, 38.1 OVERALL GRADE

Johnson stuggled throughout the game both on the edge in run support and in coverage. Against the pass, Johnson gave up five catches on five targets for 61 yards. He gave up 41 of those yards after the catch, struggling to rally to the ball and make tackles. In total, he missed three tackles in the game.

Pats secure first-round bye for 8th straight year

The New England Patriots will be skipping Wild Card Weekend for the eighth straight year. The Patriots clinched yet another first-round bye, after the Jaguars lost to the 49ers on Sunday.

NFL Week 16: Takeaways from Sunday's games

Sunday of Week 16 has ended with several teams punching their ticket to the playoffs and a few eliminations. Here are some of our big takeaways from the games today.

Patriots 37, Bills 16

1. Losing 16-13 early in the third quarter, New England reeled off 24 unanswered points to put Buffalo's postseason livelihood in jeopardy. Tyrod Taylor absorbed five sacks, failing to lead a touchdown drive against the Patriots for the second time this season. The Bills will need to win at Miami and hope for an improbable confluence of upsets to befall the Ravens, Chargers and Titans in the regular-season finale.

2. One of the reasons Taylor failed to lead a touchdown drive? The NFL's labyrinthine "process of the catch" rule reared its ugly head once again, this time in a two-play sequence that cost Buffalo a crucial touchdown to close out the first half. In a play eerily similar to Jesse James' controversial non-catch in Week 15, tight end Charles Clay corralled the ball in the end zone only to lose control as he made contact with the ground. One play later, Kelvin Benjamin's spectacular catch was overturned on a protracted replay-review session that failed to show incontrovertible evidence in either direction. We shall commence our annual plea for the Competition Committee to head back to the drawing board in determined search of a fix to the convoluted catch rule that leaves coaches, players, analysts and fans scratching their heads on a weekly basis.

3. With both Rex Burkhead and James White sidelined, offseason acquisition Mike Gillislee resurfaced for his first reception of the season as well as his first touchdown since Week 2. The former Bills back touched the ball just seven times, though, while Dion Lewis and All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowskicarried a Patriots attack that hasn't come close to clicking on all cylinders in over a month. Gronkowski had a bigger impact than the boxscore might suggest, pulling off a spectacular one-handed touchdown over Micah Hyde and drawing a 29-yard pass interference penalty to set up Gillislee's 1-yard score. If not for the penalty and a trio of first-half Tom Brady misfires in his direction, Gronkowski would have cleared the century mark for his third consecutive game.

New England 37-16 over Buffalo

BUF.png Bills: D

If you want to beat the Patriots, it kind of helps if you score touchdowns, and that's something the Bills' offense just couldn't do in this game. The Bills got inside of New England's red zone a total of four times, but didn't come away with a single touchdown. One of the reasons the Bills struggled is because they couldn't protect Tyrod Taylor, who got sacked six times. We'll also give the refs a "D" for controversially overturning an apparently touchdown catch by Kelvin Benjamin

NE.png Patriots: B+

If you started Dion Lewis in Fantasy Football this week, then you're probably going to want to give the Patriots an "A+" for their game plan in this game. With James Whiteout of the game, the Patriots turned almost exclusively to Lewis, who carried the ball 24 times for a season-high 129 yards and a touchdown. Just for good measure, he also tacked on another 24 yards receiving and another touchdown. Lewis didn't have to completely carry the team though because Rob Gronkowski came through with another Gronk-like performance, catching five passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. The Patriots also racked up six sacks in this game, which was a completely unexpected performance from a team that went into Sunday's game averaging just 2.3 sacks per game on the season.

I can't stand it when people say the Patriots don't need to cheat, don't need help from the refs etc etc to win.  It is completely integral to them winning!

Saturday has an issue with the Bills complaining (1:23)
Jeff Saturday says letting one play dictate the mentality of your team can't happen and Ryan Clark couldn't agree any more.

Clark agrees with non-catch ruling (1:51)
Ryan Clark says at first look, it appeared that Kelvin Benjamin scored a touchdown, but the NFL correctly followed "the letter of the law" like several other instances this season.

Benjamin is not upset after 'no-catch' rule (0:45)
Kelvin Benjamin tells Sal Paolantonio that he knows the "catch" rule and he believes he caught that ball but understands that he needed to move on.

Quick thoughts:

-Probably the best officiated game this season by ANY crew.

Goodall's Goons overturned Benjamin's TD. Unlike last week's correct call, Benjamin scored. 37-20 should have been the final score.

-NE's Red Zone Defense allows scores on less than 50% of possessions. They have the most Red Zone takeaways.

-Tyrod isn't an NFL QB and he's the most glaring reason that the Bills will miss the playoffs again. He's athletic, but has ZERO instincts or situational awareness!

-Find even a middling QB and reach the playoffs!

-The Flutie Curse lives on!

Bills MVP: RB LeSean McCoy
- He was outstanding all day. Second place goes to Kelvin Benjamin.

Bills LVP: OC Rick Dennison
- The constant infatuation with Mike Tolbert, along with a bootleg delayed fullback screen that went for negative-eight yards led to unsatisfactory results — especially considering that the Bills had been driving the ball down the field and completely ruined the momentum of that drive.

Up Next: The Bills take on the Miami Dolphins in the final week of the season on the road on December 31. The game has been flexed to 4:25 pm, and they’ll play at the same time as the Baltimore Ravens, Tennessee Titans, and the Los Angeles Chargers — the three teams they’re competing with for the Wild Card spots.

Jeff Saturday is full of crap. The Bills didn’t let that play dictate their mentality as they came out of halftime and put together an impressive drive to go up 16-13. They seemed to shrug it off quite nicely, actually.

The thing that bothers me the most is that we have a head coach who is simply clueless at critical moments. The defense is getting gashed in the second half. Your down by seven with 13 to play against the greatest qb ever. Its 4th and 1 and you decide to kick a friggin field goal. Like you expected the damn defense to suddenly become the 85 bears and 3 and out this team the rest of the game? Bad gutless coaching. Period. Exclamation point. You had to take chances to have any chance against a superior team and you crawled into a corner, got into a fetal position, and sucked your thumb hoping and praying the boogieman would just go away. Going nowhere with Mcdermott unless he grows a set.
