Would you trade the Bills 2 first round picks to the 49ers for Garoppalo?

The bills organization just doesn't do stuff like that.

I'm guessing, they  draft a rb, wr or de high and go for

a 3rd round leftover qb, just cant see anything else

happening. I just fear this team is going to stay

forever in a loop of endless running focused

offense.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED

I find it kind of funny that people are ok trading 2 first round picks for an unproven rookie...but not a young QB who not only was schooled by Brady and BB early, but also had very good early success so far as a starter, including going 3-0 with a winless team despite only getting a couple weeks to learn the system and get to know his receivers...who is top guy is none other than Marquise Goodwin, someone most this board said couldn't play in the NFL.

ZERO percent chance Jimmy is available for our 2 first rounders.  But if he was, we should trade them without hesitation and run to the phone to accept.  Jimmy is a substantially better prospect as a future franchise QB than any draft pick in this draft because he has already shown well early and had the benefit of learning behind to of the GOATs as well.  That has more value than an unknown commodity.

How is there 0% chance Garoppalo is available for 2 1st rounders? I mean yeah, he was traded to the 49ers, and the 49ers won't give him up after doing that, but he went for a 2nd round pick, and now he is suddenly worth 2 1st rounders?

While speaking on the 98.5 The Sports Hubbefore New England's 33-8 victory over the Raiders in Mexico City on Sunday, Patriotspresident Jonathan Kraft was asked for his first public comments on the trade of the 26-year-old quarterback to San Francisco. Particularly, Kraft was asked how involved he and his father, Robert Kraft, are in the pre-trade process in a deal of the magnitude.

"Before there is ever going to be something of that type of significance (Bill Belichick and Nick Caserio) definitely let us know what's going on," Kraft said. "We're aware of it and they do what they feel is in the best interest of the football team. They felt that trading Jimmy right there before the trade deadline was the right thing to do factoring everything in for our team and we agreed."

Three good games = HOF ... apparently.

They could trade and still pick a top QB, save huge contract dollars on him and basically flip a 2nd round pick for 2 firsts?  End up with 3 first round picks this year.  Just a thought.

Flip your thought around.  The goal is (or should be) to acquire a very good QB, not to save huge contract dollars.  No team will trade a guy they think is "the man" for unproven draft picks that are 50/50 to make it.

The very reason other teams might be willing to make that trade, is the reason the 49ers won't.

I agree but would hate for the Bills to trade so much for him. IMO I think SF would make the trade for the 2-1st rounders and then grab Rosen/Darnold. Hell of a trade for them IMO. Man they would have 3-1st rounders

Since when does past considerations dictate current value?  Russel Wilson was a 3rd round draft pick, you think after earning the starting job as a rookie and half way through his rookie performance he was still only going to carry a 3rd round pick value?

Jimmy had very impressive showings in his limited time on the field in NE...he followed that up by taking a WINLESS team and going 3-0 despite having very little time to learn the system and build timing and rapport with the offense.  He has 2 300 yard games in that span too.

You are literally deslusional if you think his value is anywhere near the 2nd round pick.  And it also isn't about what his market value is, its about whether or not SF would trade him.  They will NOT be trading him and sure as hell not trading him 2 picks likely in the bottom third of the first round of a draft.  There is not a single prospect in this draft more promising than Jimmy G right now.  You DONT trade away talented young QB's who look legit when you don't have a QB.

So there is literally a ZERO percent chance that anyone will offer SF enough to trade Jimmy at this point, and they sure as hell won't do it for the 2 first rounders we have.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Belichick suggested trading Brady.  That probably woke Krafty Bob up from his drunken stupor.

Point 1: Garoppolo has made 5 starts in his career.

Point 2: Wilson wasn't worth 2 first rounders until he took the Seahawks to the SB ... and won it.

Maybe Garoppolo is the next Aaron Rodgers but he hasn't proven anything yet.  The history of the NFL is littered with crappy QBs who managed to look good for 5 or 6 games.  Both Colin Kaepernick and Brock Osweiler come to mind.  Trent Edwards looked like "the real deal" for several games at the beginning of the 2008 season, too.

Again...you are missing the point.  Doesn't matter what value you think he should or shouldn't have...its 100% about whether SF wants to trade him or not...and there is ZERO percent chance they are trading a QB for a couple of draft picks who is:

  1. 5-0 as an NFL starter with a career 101 passer rating and averaging 305 yards per game.
  2. 3-0 as the 49ers starter, who were WINLESS BEFORE he got there.
  3. He is averaging 342 yard per game for the 49ers DESPITE still learning the offense.  And the 49ers were a bad offense before him to boot and his #1 WR is Marquise Goodwin, someone I would bet money on you probably said couldn't be a starter in this league since that was the opinion of about 95% of this board.

So it does not matter what anyone thinks his value is.  The 49ers are not going to trade away a guy who looks poised to be the future franchise QB for two lower third first round picks that won't even be enough to net them a top prospect in this draft at QB...which none are even a better prospect than Jimmy currently is because none have ever set foot on an NFL football field.

Jimmy is 1000000% going to be a 49er week 1 of the 2018 season.
