Actual Bowl watching 2017 edition

All 6 or 7 games are on my TV somehow for the first two days of action.

You'd have to pay me $100 to watch a quarter of any of them, unless company is over and then I will pay keen attention to the game on the screen with MUTE on

One game has Oregon against another team that emotionally makes me feel like it could be good, but they are playing on Saturday.

thanks Dev/Null

yes... Boise St and Oregon, the Blount Sucker Punch Memorial matchup, but they are both mediocre and Boise must be rancid with that conference lollipop schedule

i still think he was 10% justified, but do the crime and do the time...

Boise has an intriguing MLB Leighton Vander Esch 6'4" 240, could be a good cover guy for TEs.

“Leighton’s a very good player, got the height, weight, the speed, he’s productive, he’s got great length,” one NFL scout told the Idaho Statesman. “He sounds like he’s a great kid, too. He has all the measurables you want. He’s got a lot of upside, a very good prospect.”

The scout said Vander Esch (6-foot-4, 240 pounds), who plays the weakside spot for the Broncos, could play inside or outside at the next level.

Tony Pauline from DraftAnalyst.com pegs Vander Esch as a second-rounder, calling him “a special player,” and NFLDraftScout.com has him the No. 14 outside linebacker among draft-eligible prospects."

I DVR'd all these games and actually sat through every one of them...........the only one worth watching was the Troy game.

Lane Kiffin leading the charge in probably his last coaching job. He ran the gauntlet of nine underserved gigs due totally to his dad’s accomplishments

I like Lane, the guy has a personality. And I'll go out on a limb with you don't know what you are talking about.

He did a good job at Alabama, and has done a good job at FAU so far. Lane will get a job at a bigger program again. I'm also biased because I like that he has a personality and isn't boring as hell like most coaches. If you're going to be a ****ty coach at least entertain me.

I could understand watching the Nothing Bowls live, but DVR'ing them for later?  If you've got that much free time on your hands, go binge The Orville or catch a Last Jedi matinee or something more entertaining

It's actually not that bad.

If you DVR them, you can fast forward through all the commercials and such............you can pretty well watch an entire game in about 30-45 minutes.

I don't get a chance to watch most of these "nothing" teams during the season, so i like to see if there's any players worth watching...........but hey, what do i expect when i'm watching one 7-5 team barely beat another 7-5 team in a meaningless bowl game.

I agree... I DVR everything, even stuff I think I might just watch. I don't watch these bowl games because they take forever but if I have it dvr'ed and can skip through the commercials, I might. I don't pay attention to bowl season either so unless something happens everyone is talking about I can just come back to it...

DVR is the way to go for sure.

ODB, you can choose to worship Kiffin all you want.

The best was the year he mouthed off about how he was gonna whip Florida and Rocky Top would be heard all over again he country. They lost 51-0 and he sat at the presser like a deer in the headlights but ten times more stupid.

so yeah, he has provided great comedy, he’s the StoneHenge of nepotism in the old boys network of football coaching

anyways....

tonight we have....

Louisiana Tech 6-6

SMU 7-5

in the Frisco Bowl at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas......

Thankfully there are other options...like the Weather Channel.  I don’t know or care enough to scout these guys. I’m really looking forward to the “good” games and the playoff though. (How many bowl games are there now?)

I look forward to the day when every single college team gets to play in a bowl game.

Oh, and everyone gets a trophy as well.

Personality disorder maybe.

What was his deal after the bowl win? Players gave him the ceremonial shower and he turned around looking pissed and threw his headset. Seemed like a very strange reaction.

Has there ever been a coaches son who hasn’t been able to get a coaching job in the history of football? That’s my question.

Being handed and flopping at TWO legendary major college programs and an NFL team is quite the Resume for someone who didn’t deserve any of the gigs in the first place on his own merit.

Dave Wannstedt (sp??) kept getting more chances to disappoint but it wasn’t this spectacular

shortly with the all-day schedules of bowl games and some gems in prime time later in the week
