..hate to say it, but that goes back to loudmouth's Wrecks proclamation that this club would be a run first offense.....and how are you run first with only ONE stallion in the stable ala Shady?....I missed the memo....defense is back...offense is in the Witness Protection Program.............

The best defense in the NFL would have closed the door in the 4th quarter. With the game on the line, Carolina went on an 8 minute drive. The best defense in the league would have stepped on their throat in the 4th.

Not to say that they aren't a good defense, or a great defense, but they're not the best defense.

Yea it could be a top 5 defense by the end of this year. They need to keep adding talent to it, but its a great foundation

The thing I like most is even when a play against happens they swarm to the ball...4 players tackling the ball carrier many times...that's a recipe for success anywhere.

Cam was rusty. They were marching all over us.

But it is a much improved defense and just shows how much of a joke Rex was. This D has been loaded with talent for 5 years.

Yes...78 plays for 256 yards averaging under 4 yards a play...marching all over us...amazing how some people see the game the way they want it.

not the best in the NFL which was the question.

And, again, there certainly IS a chance.

Cripes. Did you watch the !@#$ing game?

It was damned amazing the defense held up when the offense couldn't stay onthe field.

9 !@#$ing points allowed and we have people like you.

Still too early to know, let's see what they do against Brady and some of the other elite QB's well be playing in the coming weeks. Impressive so far against McNown and Newton (who obviously is still not healthy) but we will be facing much better.

Rushing defense has been rock solid and I still think the LB's are a major liability in coverage and that will be exposed soon enough.

Just too bad this defense couldn't have generated at least one turnover today or it might have been the difference in terms of winning.
