I'm not a Philly Brown fan, but McD knows what he brings to the table in real games, same with Tolbert. They will always have an advantage over any pre-season flashes, especially in Year 1 of a coaching regime.

Always?

McDermott is a just a nobody who doesn't command any natural respect so.......probably after failing to earn it in his first 6 months on the job...... he now wants a roster that will just respect and appreciate ANY HC.

A veteran scrub on the decline like Philly Brown and the grateful-for-a-job Mike Tolbert would fit that description.

Maybe it works out but if not, this is what Pegula signed up for when he opted to go with an average-joe-DC as his HC rather than paying for a proven culture changer or giving Anthony Lynn a shot to build on the talent in place.

Perhaps McD is ahead of the curve by building a very experienced team in a league where practice time is limited..........but generally speaking it's still a young man's game.

Still, I can't blame any 1st-year, 1st-time HC for keeping a few vets around that he knows first-hand.

Thank You! It was becoming a pain in the butt. Not many surprises other than why is Vlad still on this team. Tomorrow should be fun with waiver and who we replenish and then the further cuts.

BTW - you guys may know this but Vic confirmed for me on Press Pass we stay at 10th on waiver wires vs. 28 with. The trade. You guys probably knew this, but I wasn't absolutely sure.
