Maybe a thank you to Doug Whaley and his staff will be in order for this one. We'll see. Let's hope he's the TE version of Terrelle Pryor. Thomas was a pretty good, athletic college QB (at VA Tech), but not a very good NFL QB. He's bigger and heavier (and presumably a bit slower) than Pryor (a pretty good, athletic QB at Ohio State, but not a very good NFL QB), but, generally speaking TEs are bigger, heavier and slower than WRs. Pryor has developed into a very good NFL WR, so let's hope that Thomas can similarly develop into a very good NFL TE.

That's the comp......loved the shot they took outbidding for Thomas and was disappointed we didn't get to see him in that meaningless finale.

Thought he'd probably get discarded as Whaley's trash by McDermott and glad he did not.

They desperately need to find their high value difference maker from out of nowhere.......been since Jason Peters since they did that.

He was the #1 TE in the recruiting class of 2009 over Arthur Lynch, Auburn legend Philip Lutzenkirchen (RIP), Levine Toilolo (Falcons) and Dion Sims (Dolphins).

It's not like he's a complete clean slate, he's just going back in time a bit. Fun notes...Ra'shede Hageman was the #6 tight end in that class and Zach Ertz was #10

I believe that Logan said that despite being recruited as a TE, he didn't play the position in high school.

I actually thought it was the opposite.....he did play in HS but not in college

Not according to his interview on WGR this spring. He played WR in high school, not TE.
