Which UDFAs will make the 2017 Bills' roster??

Recommended Posts

Current list of 2017 UDFAs:

) TE Jason Croom, Tennessee
2) RB Jordan Johnson, Buffalo
3) OL Voghens Larrieux, Coastal Carolina
4) DL Marquavius Lewis, South Carolina
5) OL Jac'Que Polite, Winston-Salem
6) G/T Greg Pyke, Georgia
7) P Austin Rehkow, Idaho
8) WR Brandon Reilly, Nebraska
9) LS Jeremy Salmon, Maine
10) S BT Sanders, Nicholls State
11) CB Marcus Sayles, West Georgia
12) WR Daikiel Shorts, WVU
13) S Jeremy Tyler, WVU
14) TE Keith Towbridge, Louisville
15) DT Nigel Williams, Virginia Tech
16) OL Zach Voytek, New Haven.

From the above list I really like the following players to have a legit shot to make the final roster:

1. TE J. Croom, who is a former WR. He might be a good #3 TE.

2. P Austin Rehkow, who can punt 70 yds, kick 67 yds, and kickoff deep. He could be a really nice weapon.

3. CB M. Sayles, who may thought would be a R5-R6 draft pick.

4. S J. Tyler, who could make it for his ST prowess.

Excited to see what Rehkow can do. At the very least I hope he pushes Colton Schmidt to get back to his form of a couple years ago. But I could see him beating CS out.

It'd be a cool story if Jordan Johnson could make the Bills roster. Ill be rooting for him.

I'm right there with you on Sayles... Voytek makes it.... Reilly should be in ... Croom should make an NFL team this September... Don't know if it's ours, but I sure hope so.

The only one will be Austin Rehkow because of his abilities as a Kicjer too!

If he makes the team, it will be because of his abilities as a punter. Hauschka is the kicker.

Jordan Johnson - Would give the Bills three RB's to go along with FB Tolbert and H Back Demarco

Austin Rehkow - He Punts, kicks off and in a pinch can kick FG's and XP's. His versatility should make him a keeper

Jason Croom - Unless we sign Barnidge we're really thin after Clay

That would be cool if we could have one kicker/punter/KO specialist instead of one kicker, one punter and one KO specialist.

I think it would be a first having one guy do FG's, KOs, and punting. At least in the modern era. I'm just glad that with Hauschka, they no longer need to keep a KOS.

If Rehkow wins the punting job, it will be interesting to see if they have him KO and how he does as a FG kicker. They just might have him work there since they didn't bring in another K after the draft.

IIRC Hauschka's KO stats were middle of the road for the league the last few years. He's an improvement over Carpenter there, but certainly room for an upgrade. If Rehkow were to somehow be a better punter than Schmidt AND able to handle the kickoffs better than Hauschka, that'd be ideal.
