I would rather see Davis at #10 than Williams. Mike William does have good ball skills and out-fights college DBs for the ball. He does not get alot of separation. I doubt he can dominate pro corners the way he did college. Just my opinion.

many of the corners he dominated in college are about to be pro corners

Kelvin Benjamin also ran a 4.53 at his Pro Day in 2014. He doesn't get much separation at all, and is only slighly more than a jump-ball specialist.

I say No to Mike Williams at #10. A top-10 WR has to be able to get separation againbst NFL CBs, Corey Davis or best available non-WR.

Williams will need to work on his route running but he is very good at winning the battle on contested jump balls. Would be a great skill to have in the Red Zone.

Evans is an athletic freak show. Not fair to compare.

I'm keeping Evans over Julio this year. Evans is going to be the best WR in the NFL soon enough.

Williams had so many contested catches in college, if it wasn't a tight back shoulder throw it was a wide open bomb. He scares me, I don't see the separation of an elite WR. I know that is becoming a lazy mention for Williams but even if you just watch his highlights it stands out.

Mike Evans had a bad 40 time and he's turned out fine

Evans ran a 4.53 per http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/Mike-Evans?id=2543468. Evans a little bigger than Williams at 6'5 235 compared to 6'4 214 http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/mike-williams?id=2557966 I wish Corey Davis ran just to see how fast he is because he looks a little more fluid than Williams in highlights but the MAC vs ACC is quite different in terms of level of competition. My personal draft board for the Bills is Davis, Hooker, Evans and trade down for best CB or if Davis is there take him.

I tend to agree with you. Williams is a blue chip prospect to be sure but he is no Calvin Johnson (though he may be another Dez Bryant). Something north of 4.5 was what I expected from him but given his game there is nothing wrong with that. His neck injury is a concern for some though.

Some also question CDs breakaway speed but though we wont get to see it now even at his pro day my guess was that he was going to run sub 4.5. and a good 5/100s better than Williams at least. There are also questions concerning his ability to separate against top level coverage viz Wisconsin and OS but he is a very good route runner and explosive out of his breaks. He has a habit of running into coverage at times but this is probably just a reflection of the physicality of his game and can be coached out of him along with the other little nits (assuming you are a believer).

For me Davis is the more complete receiver who can do everything you want and need for him to do at a high level. Neither guy is a true # 1 immediately from the get go but both can reasonably be expected to grow into that role in a couple of years. On teams with an adequate passing attack or better I think CD is the better option and were it not for the fact that Tyrod is our QB I think he'd be the perfect # 2 opposite Sammy. Thing is maybe Williams might be the better target in the short run given what appears to be the Bills situation under center.

Who would you prefer the QB to be? Trubisky? Ryan Mallett? Chase Daniel?

i agree with your pondering. I have watched Davis film/highlites of him vs. top competition (not the MAC) , and his seperation against better talent isnt really there. He tends to be good in the short area. So, maybe what we need IS a guy who can catch these 5050 balls and NOT a guy we think can always get separation. I think Davis is going to be good, but against better competition, he failed to get separation

Exactly...He was my favorite WR in that Draft...Of course I had no clue OBJ would be this good...

I was SO against trading up...But if it had been for Evans I would not have minded as much...Nothing against Sammy...But 6-5 that can run and catch like that! Oh my! B-)

Only in your dreams will Jonathan Allen, Jamal Adams or Malik Hooker fall to 10. Foster and Davis will definitely be there, though.

not only in dreams, but also in some Fanspeak mock drafts!!

If Foster is there, you take him over Williams. I don't see any WR in this draft as worthy of the #10 pick. There will be someone there who is. Take that guy (a game changer, day 1 starter).
