A friend of mine makes VT beer runs from time to time & comes back with a trunk full of Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, and others to share. But I think my favorite IPA may be Jai Alai by Cigar City in Tampa. Alchemist is good but overrated, IMO. I have yet to try Hill Farmstead, but have heard good things. And if you ever get a chance to get your hands on veil out of richmond, do it. tired hands out of my area(philly area) is also a great catch, but like hill farmstead, they are way too cool for you and i(but damn they make some fine beer) Alchemist is good but overrated, IMO. Going up there for a Yankee Game in a couple weeks and trying to pick 2 must visit breweries in the boroughs. Other Half is probably on that list Fiddlehead & Sip of Sunshine were also part of the last batch my buddy brought home from VT. I'm going to go check this afternoon. It is the weekend, and I can have 2 beers (or drinks) per night!! Woohoo!! Rock Art, Foley Brothers, 14th Star, and Otter Creek Brewery are also putting out some really good beers in Vermont. Other Half is walking distance from my place, so I should be ashamed of myself for not having stopped in yet. I've heard nothing but good things about it. Just went to the Dogfish site and said 60 Minute is in cans as well...and while i have no seen them yet, that would be great. I love 60 Minute as a good everyday beer. Rob's House Posted April 17, 2017 Share Posted April 17, 2017 (edited) I've been on a sours kick lately. I like Aunt Sally from Lagunitas, but I've really been enjoying Sour Monkey from victory. It's 9.5% alcohol which is unusual for a sour but it's nice because you can sip it and get where you want to be, and as much as I like sours they're too tart to pound. To Plenz, Pooger, and anyone else who frequents Richmond, Strangeways brewery off Dabney Rd has a great cucumber melon sour. It's a little pricey but it's good. I would rate it a 6 out of 10. I don't know why but I like the tarts and just can't really get on board with the Gose. They are too fruity I think. I enjoy 1 but then I have to switch off of them.
