Big Gun
I will buy off on Rich Gannon. Good call. Tremendous season with Oakland after being on 3 squads. However, Hasselbeck had his success on his second team and didn't do anything after that, Favre was retired before going to Min and having one great year, O'Donnell had zero success after leaving PIttsburgh his first team, Brad Johnson had no success after he left TB, his third team. Bleeding Bills Blue
Play Tyrod for the first half then bring in a closer that can actually pass when we need him if we get behind. If we are winning there isn't much better than someone like Tyrod who helps the run game and who doesn't turn the ball over. It's only when we are losing where he's a problem because he just can't pass the ball down the field. He's proven to be incapable of leading a 2 min drive with his arm and in games where it's a shootout we are going to lose every time because we can't score as fast as teams that air it out Not sure EJ was that guy - but i don't know why we never tried it. I like it though. Get a guy who just runs our 2 minute offense. If Tyrod gets hurt - we just play no-huddle the rest of the game. We can also plug him in at the 2 minute warnings and cycle them in and out if we want. Disrespects Tyrod - but if we win you'll look like a genius. MarkyMannn
Foles can do both, doesn't throw interceptions. Not a runner but is mobile. In 2014 and 2015, played a total of 19 games with 20 picks. That seems like a lot 2016 played two games
H2o
You still have Jones who is from Ohio. Good to have different options!!! It's not where they are from my friend, it is the Cal system Not sure how Mahomes is Tyrod part II Watch Mahomes play a few times and see if he doesn't remind you of Tyrod out there. A lot of the stuff he gets away with now he will not be getting away with at the next level. You can bet that.
BobbyC81
Webb > Mahomes yet both might not be NFL ready in 2017. The Texas Tech coach didn't think so as Mahomes beat out Webb. Regarding Webb, I watched most of Cal's games. He's a gunslinger who showed good arm strength and accuracy but the Cal Air Raid system is a spread offense and they used the sideline cards for play calling. So, as with Goff, he operated only from the shotgun but didn't have to read defenses. I believe Texas Tech ran a similar system.

Football players need to get over themselves. You can still be the leader of the team from the sideline and shouldn't the leader be a team player that does what it takes to win? As for a closer, it seemed like a crazy idea in baseball not too long ago too. Now every single team has a closer. I've seen it done in college where you have the running QB and the throwing QB. Makes a lot of sense and if players would get over themselves I think it could work Edited December 22, 2016 by kdiggz
Buffalo Barbarian
http://www.nfl.com/player/nickfoles/2532842/careerstats I think he would be perfect, has mobility, young, big, throws long and isn't really damaged (wants to be a starter), has played in cold weather and knows McCoy! That's a weird way to spell Tony Romo

I couldn't see who you were referring to until I opened the link. After yesterday, I assumed that you were advocating the acquisition of Poe. BarleyNY
I would get Foles, draft a QB 2nd or 3rd round and Jones. Have them duke it out. Pretty much this. I think Jones and draft pick have to take the job from Foles tho. He comes in as starter. That'd be a selling point to get him here too. He'll be the best FA QB on the market (not that it's going to be a high bar).
Prickly Pete
Get Cutler Roll the dice with Cardale See if they can get Sean Mannion Trade for Connor Cook A lot depends on who the HC is. Not sure EJ was that guy - but i don't know why we never tried it. I like it though. Get a guy who just runs our 2 minute offense. If Tyrod gets hurt - we just play no-huddle the rest of the game. A Two-Minute Offense Specialist is an interesting concept. I watched a bunch of trick play videos after the Poe TD pass last night, and I don't see why teams don't do that kind of thing WAY more often. It would put so much more pressure on defenses. Unless you have a QB that can consistently, and methodically sustain long drives, I don't see why you wouldn't use trick plays OFTEN. Tyrod is actually perfect for a trick play offense, because he is such a great runner (I'm sure he can catch reasonably well, too) If you are going 3-and-Out repeatedly, you have little to lose.
