Week 9: Seahawks' Game Preparation - Inactives Announced

Brady is a tough matchup for really anybody. You need a solid front 4 pass rush. Someone to cover Gronk/Bennett. AND corners who can play tight man to man, and recognize their pick plays. And even after all that ... he still probably burns you for 20 plus.

And then you have their defense, which is largely healthy and pretty good.

This is a good, albeit simplified, description of the defense that Rex puts on the field and the biggest reason they were never in the game yesterday. Multiple times on third and long and there were blown coverage by Gilmore and Darby. In an effective Rex Ryan defense, it would be ideal not to have just two good cornerbacks that can cover, but three. The Bills offense actually wasn't terrible. There were missed throws and dropped passes as well, but the were able to move the football down the field. A healthy Watkins and McCoy and I honestly think they would have kept it much closer.

In years past, I hardly cared about Goodwin's status. But him being cleared for this game is very good news considering what our WR corps looked like in the Pats game.

i agree. We need to have some illusion that we could maybe connect on a deep ball to stretch the field in the passing game and since he has 2 TDs on deep balls this year they will have to account for him at the very least.
