They have him confessing to domestic violence? The prosecuting attorney declined to press charges? And the Giants are getting **** for not punishing him? Hey, people...how about we stop expecting the NFL to act as a law enforcement body? When your Commish says it will not be tolerated but then it is not dealt with that is not an issue? OOOOO In a month that they push PINK to get the womens money. hypocritical NO? Please be sure that you compare the proper timelines. NFL & Ravens were going to do nothing to Rice when news broke that he had an incident with his fiance at the casino. Then, they were going to suspend him for 2 days once video leaked out of him dragging her out from the elevator. It was only after the punch video was unearthed that he got blackballed. The entire process took months. But, yeah Brown is being treated better because he's white. For me, the issue is that the NFL handed down a lesser suspension for his DV arrest than the standard that they themselves set based upon the premise that it was an isolated incident and they couldn't verify that other incidents took place. The suspension, however, happened after the NFL themselves had to intervene in a domestic disturbance at the pro bowl subsequent to his arrest. Again, the issue is why they went light on the suspension claiming no other confirmed incidents when they had to intervene in one themselves? It's that the NFL preaches a hard stance against DV, as did the NYG organization. It looks pretty hollow. It doesn't matter whether he was criminally charged. That's not the benchmark for the NFL. The NFL has a vested interest in not publicizing DV events which do not come to light on their own. It's not dis-similar to the argument Kirby makes in regards to the NBA not testing for marijuana, because testing creates an environment in which players will test positive, with each positive test being a black eye for the league. It's an issue: specifically, it's an issue that Goodell is a preternatural moron. But when the justice system isn't punishing players at all for domestic violence, the issue should NOT be that the league isn't punishing players enough. Which issue do you actually want to discuss? The "domestic violence" issue, or a "Roger Goodell is a mammoth ****head" issue? If the latter...no kidding. Even if NFL fans aren't discussing it, it is kind of ignoring the elephant in the room. Furious outrage at the NFL for allowing pervasive domestic violence in its culture by giving light or minimum punishments to perpetrators, but prosecutors whose job it is to pursue cases such as these and ensure that people who commit crimes are punished isn't shown in a bad light at all.
