Hardy and Rice were punished. Reyes and Chapman were punished by MLB. Teams were happy to have them. Fans didn't care---or at least we didn't hear if they did because no one cares (nationally) about MLB until (maybe) the WS rolls around.

The NFL on the other hand, dominates the news cycle year round. And we are forced to be outraged because we are told to be...until we aren't any more (and the season starts..)

Players "check in with" Mike Freeman??

This is developing into a huge problem for the NFL.

Other players texting not about race. More about NFL doing favors for owners who have good relationship with Goodell.

IMO, Hardy and Rice were such big issues because of the pictures and video. Those images were damaging for both of them. The Brown documents (or journal, whatever it is) is not pretty either. The details have made those issues feel real as opposed to Chapman firing off a gun in his garage. That feels a lot less real than Rice punching his wife on video.

Yeah really? Ok. Well NFL reporters starting to say the exact same thing

great. What's that mean? Again. What you're trying to make an argument doesn't belong here. If you want to take that approach go to the PPP thread.

Don't be so petty

Yeah guess it is Petty that Ray Rice out of a job, Greg Hardy out of a job after being put on the Commish suspended list for a year.

Josh Brown still on a roster and getting paid, and NFL Security also involved in relocating family at Probowl.

Nothing to see here

The cops were called to Chapmans because his girlfriend said he choked her and slammed her against the wall. He also then fired a gun 8 times in his garage and out his window.

Point is, fans didn't care in NY or Chicago.

But @mikefreeman just said it's because Mara is a friend of Goodell's.

I'd go with what players are checking in with @mikefreeman with...

Nothing to see here..

Why treat Ray Rice different? Ooo i can think of a reason, why some are kneeling during the Anthem

If you're going to make an assertion like this, it helps to have the history straight.

Steve Bisciotti was fully behind Rice and didn't want to impose greater punishment, but once the video came out the NFL forced his hand. He has been supportive of Rice throughout the process and went public that Rice deserves another chance in the league.

In that sense, Giants treating of Brown looks to be more severe than that of Rice if you compare the timelines and that no video evidence exists for Brown, but was very damning in Rice's case.

But I know, it's all about the race.

Its about Perception, and when you have players saying that he is getting treated different than you have a problem in the NFL when a majority of your players are of that race.

There is a reason the NFL hasn't sought to move on drug use, including marajuana.

the nfl has. in the last year it raised the amount required to test positive, and lowered the penalties for positive tests

personally, i still think the nfl likes having a bargaining chip with the NFLPA as a big part of it.

And apparently you have no qualms in perpetuating the false perception, because the Baltimore owner was more supportive of his player than the NYG owner.

And as long as people continue to run false narratives to support their prejudiced views, you'll continue to have people sitting for the national anthem on false pretenses.

Really Ravens More supportive.

Has Josh Brown lost his Job yet?

Was Josh Brown given a new Deal even though the Giants knew about the DV issues?

Apr 18 2016 Signed a 2 year $4 million contract with New York (NYG).......... NFL Security had to help his WIFE relocate at the freaking Probowl. Mara can say all he wants about not knowing.

Their feelings don't matter, as long as their feelings run counter to the facts.

It is counter productive to treat a false narrative as if it has any value whatsoever.

if you go back and look at the ravens situation -- they were behind rice up until the video. clearly they knew a knocked out woman was punched in the head by their player previous to seeing the video. it still bugs me that the actual video so drastically changed things in a "wtf did you think happened before you saw it" sense.

What Narrative? That Rice was Cut and has not been able to get another Job?

That Gregg Hardy was suspended for a year?

That Josh Brown gets a NEW contract and Still getting paid even though NFL Security had to intervene during a DV incident?

That Narrative?

Or the other one that Commish treats Owners he has a relationship with Differently than other Owners?

So just to be clear:

Josh Brown was investigated by the King County Sheriff's Department for domestic violence? They have him confessing to domestic violence? The prosecuting attorney declined to press charges? And the Giants are getting **** for not punishing him?

Hey, people...how about we stop expecting the NFL to act as a law enforcement body?

And ONCE video came out Ravens Cut him right?

So comes out NFL new about these issues. Mara admitted he knew about all the issues.

Brown still on a team getting paid

Please be sure that you compare the proper timelines. NFL & Ravens were going to do nothing to Rice when news broke that he had an incident with his fiance at the casino. Then, they were going to suspend him for 2 days once video leaked out of him dragging her out from the elevator. It was only after the punch video was unearthed that he got blackballed. The entire process took months.

But, yeah Brown is being treated better because he's white.
