A few interesting stats on the Rams:

Offense

30th in points/game (Bills are 17th)

32nd in yards/game

32nd in yards/play

32nd in first downs/game

Defense

Rank 9th in the NFL in points/game allowed (Bills are 6th)

Rank 23rd in yards/game allowed

Here's where it gets very interesting...

Although they rank 10th in the league in yards/play allowed, they also rank dead last in first downs/game allowed. This is most likely due to the fact that they rank 26th in 3rd down conversion rate allowed (44%)

Both teams protect the football well, as Buffalo ranks 2nd in the NFL with a +10 TO differential, and the Rams are tied for 4th with a +4 differential.

Very interesting numbers.

I think they are also 11th on defense on YPA rushing, but are 17th overall. It seems like they allow a lot of yards, but few points, but struggle to match on offense.

Honestly that sounds a lot like how we played the Pats last week.

Anyone else notice how well the quick slants to Woods worked today? We need to keep those. Though it's obviously an exaggeration, I feel that most of the passes to Watkins when he was in there were along the sidelines.

Yes. Slants are pretty much all quick (otherwise they become crossing routes) so that's kind of redundant but I completely agree.

The downside is they need to be thrown low so they are usually the highest percentage of batted passes.

The only reason Fitz is even in the NFL is because of his ability to throw slants so well. I hope to see more of them from Tyrod.

Thanks for the extended stats. I'm kind of seeing a game plan of what the Ravens did to us: Make Keenum be a QB. Force him to throw to beat us with our secondary playing like it has the last two games.

Evenly matched, which is why TOs will most likely make the difference.

That's really sad. Especially the Rams only being on two California stations.

CBS Sports: NFL Week 5 Early Odds

Bills at Rams (Opening line: Rams, -1.5 points)

Current line: Rams, -3 points. After three straight wins, it's starting to look like the Rams are for real, and bettors were ready to pounce when this line opened. After two weeks on the road, the Rams finally get to return to Los Angeles for just their second home game of the season. L.A. has been pretty friendly for the Rams so far, including the preseason, the Rams are 3-0 straight-up at home. Of course, going on the road probably doesn't bother the Bills: They're 9-5-1 ATS overall since 2014 as a road underdog, a total that includes their Week 4 win at New England.

My Five Takes on #Bills-#Rams. NEW at BN Blitz: https://t.co/e4UlDrdJJK

Here are my five takes on the Buffalo Bills' game against the Los Angeles Rams Sunday at the L.A. Coliseum:

1. Get physical right away.

2. Another week, another opponent the defense can dominate

3. Take advantage of weak cornerbacks.

4. Stay as disciplined as possible.

5. Match the Rams' resilience.

TOUGH GUY REX HAS TEAM ANSWERING THE BELL
Rex Ryan is a tough guy. We heard all kinds of stories about the owners having meetings with players, having meetings with Tom Coughlin, and people calling for his job two weeks into the season. He could care less. He just keeps fighting. Now, with a new OC in tow, his team is back to running the ball and playing aggressive defense, and beating teams like Arizona and New England who had been in the Super Bowl discussion during the preseason.

Now, he gets Marcel Dareus back from suspension, and his defense, which recorded 21 sacks all of last year, doesn’t have Mario Williams, and they already have 13 sacks. Don’t expect this team to lie down.

@JoeBuscaglia

It was pretty evident over the last 2 weeks that Nick O'Leary passed Jim Dray on the depth chart. O'Leary had 27 snaps to Dray's 4 on Sunday

Injuries in the NFL are a hell of a thing. Nick O'Leary went from on the wrong side of the bubble to the No. 2 TE after Chris Gragg's injury

O'Leary took advantage of a new chance at it, and has carved out a nice little niche for himself on the offense.
