IMO Taylor has bailed out bad pass blocking for much of the year. And if the coaches trusted this line they wouldn't be running gimmick plays and low-percentage fades in short yardage situations.

Same way Fitz did. It was comical how everyone... not necessarily on this board... Thought the line was the best buffalo had in years. Wasnt it about the same line EJ walked into and he made them look horrible/ exposed who they really were. I could subscribe to the notion that TT made them look way better than they really were Glenn to Wood was cool. We need Miller to get another year of Bills and a steady RT

IMO... if Rex stays they need to tell straight out that he has to fire Thomas and hire a real defensive coordinator and then he can focus on being a Head Coach. If he wants to be the DC, then fine, demote him and bring a real HC.

But we need a real Head Coach. This team is a dysfunctional mess, undisciplined, soft, bad clock management, poor game plans, they even forget batteries for the damn headsets. We need a HC. Until they get one, nothing else matters.

Personally, I don't think Rex is HC material.

Totally agree; Rex is far from a good head coach, no matter what he thinks.

Dennis Thurman is a D-Coordinator in name only. He's more of a consultant, but this is Rex's defense, simple and plain. He has single handedly screwed up this defense.

This I cannot answer.

Imo Rex is a fraud, a buffoon, and an embarrassment. Maybe he will take a buyout and be a TV announcer.

He belongs somewhere, anywhere, but not on our sidelines.

I'm one of the best posters on this board and you disagree with me all the time. McKelvin did have a good game but Graham looked a step slower than everyone else on the field (except Rambo) as he has the entire second half of the season. At least to me he did.

Then again, these are all depth guys (or at least Graham should be) and are probably fine backups so I'm not really that concerned. We paid for staying healthy all of 2014 this season. Hopefully it swings back our way next year.

Graham's likely worn out as he has to be everywhere in the secondary.

Man people hate Rex. We did win... On to ny. I want to beat them and kick them out of the playoffs. Next season is next season, we still have another game.

Not sure who's playing receiver, but Watkins is going to need to have his best game. And Tyrod is gonna have to be on his game. Too.

We'll probably get beat, but we're a bottom tier team with the roster as it stands now. I'd like to see players rally and have a great game for their own pride.

1) Graham was steady; he usually is. That said, I think that the top defender on the Bills today was McKelvin. This is a rare thing to type, but his hit set up the interception and he broke up a lot of passes.

2) Corbin Bryant played well today, even though he was frequently used in pass coverage.

3) I suppose Hogan has played himself off of the roster next season. He isn't totally awful, but there is no place in this league for a possession receiver with questionable hands.

4) Just before the half, the interception that Tyrod threw was dumb. The delay penalty by Watkins before that was dumb. The clock management was dumb. There is zero accountability on this team. Rex is a horror show.

5) The Bills netted 236 yds on the ground today. OK, Tyrod DID run for 67 yards. Still, Gillislee had 93 yds. and Karlos ran for 76. Those two also combined for 4 catches for 37 yards. Having a big, physical back made quite the difference. They didn't seem to miss Shady all that much. Just sayin.....

6) Arrows of neon and flashing marquees out on Main Street.

Chicago, New York, Detroit it's all on the same street.

Your typical city involved in a typical daydream,

Hang it up and see what tomorrow brings.

Dallas - got a soft machine,

Houston - too close to New Orleans.

New York - got the ways and means,

but just won't let you be.

7) Folks, I am sad to report that I cannot any longer defend Mario Williams. He looks weak and appears to be not trying at all. Believe me, it hurts to say this. He was a great player and I have a ton of respect for what he does off the field.

8) Tyrod Taylor has better vision on running plays than any qb I have seen as of late, and this includes Russell Wilson. Is Newton a better runner? I don't know but Tyrod kept us in the game with his legs today.

9) People should stop posting that the Bills DL only goes into coverage "about 5% of the time." That is simply not true. They are doing it constantly. It is pitiful to watch.

10) I am usually happier than this after a Bills win. The truth is that we were just a bit lucky to win this one, or so I think.

11) Watkins played very well today. It was good to see some shorter patterns mixed in, as crazy as that sounds. I believe he is a complete receiver, not just a deep threat and should be used accordingly.

12) No quarterback sacks today and not much pressure either. Sometimes it is hard to believe what I am watching.

13) I hope everyone here and your loved ones had a wonderful Christmas and or Chaunaka.

14) GO BILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hogan is fine, Mario wants out of here but his effort is inexcusable, run first QBs don't win in this league.

I'm of the very same opinion and for the life of me, I don't get the Bills fans still defending this clown of a coach or what he managed to do to a top defense. I don't know about the rest of the fan base, but I took solace with this team being #2 in sacks in 2013, #1 in sacks in 2014, and #4 overall in defense despite not making the playoffs.

Bills fans still blaming it on injuries or the players lack of effort, and it's far more than anything like that. Rex Ryan and his clown car defense in a tragic comedy of errors.

  • It's not just about the D-linemen dropping into pass coverage either as it's also about asking the players to control the gaps over rushing the passer.
  • It's also about the extreme lack of blitzing going from Ryan's past schemes of up to 54% of the defensive snaps blitzing to an almost non-existent 9.5 % blitzing in some games this year.
  • It's also about a clear lack of defensive line player rotation vs what Schwartz did last year.
  • It's also about the players not knowing their assignments and being out of position. Guys running around and not set when the ball is snapped.
  • It's also about the players themselves going public to complain about how they are being utilized. That #3 overall has been complaining about it since training camp.
  • Preston Brown stating that even the slowest offenses have been hurrying to the line this season because they know the Bills have issues with the play calls coming in late
  • The clear lack of discipline as the team accrues penalties like crazy in some games and in all three areas of the team.

This is unforgivable in my view to take a defense loaded with this much talent and then outright ruin it because the players don't fit the scheme the HC wants to run. This with the addition a rookie at corner who will probably be the DRotY. I have a difficult time believing that Rex Ryan somehow survives this season in Buffalo. I know the very last thing I want to see is this team retooling a defense that the team spent the last few years building. Rex Ryan turned three pro bowlers into average, sub-average players.

The pass rush is non existent.

It is incredible. We don't sniff the QB with the same personnel that terrorized QBs last year. Again, thanks Rex.

And they showed what they can really do vs New England. Why they don't do it every game is incomprehensible.

His first run from scrimmage four games ago, my buddy and I nearly fell out of our bar stools because how of similar he looked to Fred.

Agree though I think he has a step or two on Fred.

What I can't figure out is why Rex felt he needed to change anything? If it ain't broke don't fix it and he wins football games. Is he the ultimate egomaniac and/or just stupid? That said, he will be back. Too much money involved and there is no way to salvage the players that have been ruined in the current environment. Mario quit the team, there is no excuse for letting his teammates down like he has. He's gone. Lots of needless picks next season on the D side of the ball. What a shame....

And Happy Holidays to you & your loved ones Bill. Thanks.

With #3, Tyrod's INT right before the half, #17, Salas was wide open on the same side of the field where he threw the pick. He could have done a better job of reading the field on that one.

No time - it was 8 seconds left - designed to go to Hogan with no read - the DB got in front - on Hogan.

Nope. The line hasn't been good. Did you watch the Eagles game? If Kujo is so bad that Mills is a better option, Kujo shouldn't be in the league, either. And you know what? Henderson wasn't playing well before he exited. RT has been a liability in the passing game all year. Thank God Tyrod is such a dancer.

I find it hard to believe everyone does not see RT as the number one need in this years FA or draft, probably both. None of the players currently on the team are more than barely good enough to even be backups or depth players.

Everyone keeps saying there is too much money involved in Rex's contract for him to be let go. If Pegula really cares about the Bills as a football team or about the people of Buffalo rather than just as a business investment, he will eat the money. He can definitely afford it and will not suffer for it.

There are no cap issues with coaches so it is all about whether Pegula is just another Ralph Wilson and if "Pegula is cheap",LOL!

please don't confuse a garbage win against a garbage team as an excuse to absolve Rex from his garbage performance as HC of this team.
