That is because he has backers in Texas willing to fund his move there if that is what he wants to do.

Who is kicking in 1.5 billion or so to make Davis the owner of a SA NFL team?

'Perez says the only way the Alamo City can continue the conversation is if city leadership can come up with proposals to fund a brand new Raiders stadium here in Texas.'

Yeah, so much for that.

The Rams are gone to Los Angeles, but St. Louis remains, and the Kansas City Chiefs smell a golden opportunity to recruit some new fans.

Are the Raiders headed for San Diego?

"As for San Diego, the city currently has a $1.1 billion stadium plan that would require $121 million in contributions from both county and city taxpayers for a total of $242 million.
That would leave the Chargers or Raiders on the hook for about $333 million of stadium costs. "
If that new stadium deal is made for San Diego , the Chargers could save that $550M relocation fee.

The city would also chip in another $225 million by selling land around Qualcomm Stadium. The rest of the money would come from the team that plays there and the NFL, with the league now promising a total of $300 million.

Isn't that taxpayer funding?

Most of them are resellers.

So what? Speculators obviously sense a high demand.

Speculators are the biggest driver in high ticket sales. It is the reason the sabres have had a waiting list for going on 10 years despite very poor results, the reason the bills will always have a waiting list once they get their act together, and why the comparisons between December games in 1990 vs 2015 are silly

Think about what you just said. If demand were high, resellers would not be able to acquire many seats.

Keep an eye on Ticket Exchange and StubHub the next few years. They will be your first indicators of the NFL's success or failure in L.A.
