If they did this they'd do what Major League baseball does when they play a AAA game. They sign a bunch of guys you've never heard of to the big squad. The stars come out and go through the batting order one time, and then these scrubs come in. It would have been the same thing. The first string offense and defense would each play like one set of downs, then we'd get a bunch of practice squad guys, not even preseason. Not that it matters anyway. Lol. You could entirely field a team of practice squad/3rd stringers and anyone who volunteers who thinks it will help their chances on the roster (Tuel, Taylor etc).
