Bo Levi Mitchell - The SHOULD Be Bills Franchise QB Champion

Bo Levi Mitchell is a young, successful, CFL champion QB. He's 24 years old from the football mecca of Katy, Texas. We all know how competitive Texas high school football is and Bo took his team to an undefeated season and won a state championship. Bo also spent two seasons with the Eastern Washington Eagles and led EWU to its first national title when the Eagles won the 2010 NCAA Division I FCS National Championship with a 20-19 comeback victory over the University of Delaware. Bo was named the most outstanding player and threw 3 touchdowns in the final 16 minutes of the game. Recently last year Bo Levi Mitchell became the starting QB for the CFL's Calgary Stampeders and led them to the CFL championship, the Grey Cup. He had a 98.3 efficiency rating which was the highest in the league. Bo also set a CFL record for the best record for a starting quarterback in league history (12 wins, 1 loss). Bo is also the Championship MVP.

As per being under contract with the Stampeders until 2016... Yes the NFL and CFL respect each others contracts and do not permit a player to leave one league for another. HOWEVER, this does not mean that teams can't agree to trades, waiving terms of a contract if the player wants it and the team is willing to allow it, for compensation in another way (receiving more players in return, money, etc.). Simply the Bills could pay a lot for Bo Levi Mitchell and Calgary would take the bait as he is only one more year under contract. They know he is going to leave next year, so I think they would be willing to make a deal on him, when the team can still make out on him. He's Buffalo's QB to lose in my opinion.

Let's get this deal done and win some championships guys! We all know the QB is the missing piece on the Bills. Also bear in mind the CFL is no-huddle, up-tempo, fast-paced, throw-the-football type of game. Bo has the experience and QB ability to win a Superbowl. Imagine the legacy of Bo Levi Mitchell with his go to WR Sammy Watkins and coach Rex Ryan.

His numbers are HORRENDOUS. Under 60 percent completion percentage and has as many turnovers as TDs? REALLY?

This couldn't be any further from the truth. You are wrong. 3,389 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions with a 98.3 QB rating last year. You are not factoring in that in the CFL a team has only 3 downs to get 10 yards. He was also the CFL champion and CFL championship MVP. (Grey Cup MVP).

Please cite an example of a CFL team releasing their best player, who's still under contract, to the NFL?

Maybe Pegula can put together a package that includes sending the Sabre's first pick in the upcoming draft to the Flames. Stranger things have happened.

Someone should make a list of every unheralded college or CFL quarterback who has been the subject of a TBD post since Jim Kelly's retirement and who was supposedly "the answer" at QB. Remember when we just HAD to draft Tony Pike or Dan LeFevour?

This player is different. On every team he has played on he has won championships. He's young at 24 yrs old and from great football culture. Why be so negative when facts on the individual player point to a positive direction. My gosh, sometimes I think Bills fans just don't want solutions and just outright reject and criticize everything even when the facts point to there being a viable solution at hand.

Wow, so he was 12-1 and won the championship? What record did the rest of his team have, did they also win the Grey cup too? I think he will need more then 1 really good CFL season under his belt before teams coming begging the Stamps to let him go to the NFL

Their record was not as good as it was before Mitchell started being the starting QB.

The rule is NFL teams can't poach CFL players. They have to to be free agents. Bo is signed through 2016 so this thread is moot.

Is that an NFL rule? Im guessing it isn't, so who cares. and even if it were, Its not like that would stop the Patriots.

If nothing else just sign him to a contract now, for the 2016 season.

Not sure if you are joking or not. Pretty sure that would be illegal. Both leagues would not like it.

You think the Sabres should just trade away potentially the next Gretzky in Connor McDavid (they are aiming for the first pick. If they finish last, it's the second pick at worst). Either way, the NHL team should give up a chance at a generational player so the Bills can sign a CFL qb.

No doubt something less ridiculous could be worked out.

Do they use progressions in the passing game or is it a spread style predetermined offense?

if they don't use a NFL style offense then he will struggle here.

Also R&R want ground and pound not uptempo no huddle.
