Players Who Deserve Recognition

Recommended Posts

CJ Spiller - Behind only Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson, Spiller was the 3rd most electric offensive weapon in the NFL this year. He would have easily eclipsed 2,000 all purpose yards on a competent team.

Stevie Johnson - 2012 came with some of the usual mental lapses and drops, but his ability to get open remains unmatched. Squeezing out a 1,000 yard season in this passing offense is like juicing a raisin.

Andy Levitre - Remained the iron man on the line when others were so often injured. Consistently got to the second level.

Eric Wood/Kraig Urbik/Cordy Glenn - Solid play all around.

Jairus Byrd - Play maker. Hard hitter. Would be more noticeable if the DL could force an errant throw more often.

Alex Carrington - Turned into something of a blocked kick specialist. Never even heard of that existing before, but he did. Better season than Dareus, as he often got penetration in rotational DT duty.

Leodis McKelvin - Before his injury, he created good field position in droves.

All other starters (and most of the backups) can suck a lemon.

A bit of this too.

Agree on all the others as well. Carrington was huge this year.

I'd like to give an honorable mention to Fitz, who blew a few games this season, but played all 16 again, showed toughness, and turned in the best season of his career. I know he's not elite, but he's better than he'll ever get credit for around here.

Seriously - Fitz sucks. Didnt you see that graffic that in the past two seasons, Fitz has the most INTs in the NFL?

Agreed. But Stevie squeezing 1000 again... Not thaaaat crazy when your by far the #1 in a pass heavy offense. Stil a nice feather for his cap but its not shocking

With modern NFL rules that favor offenses, 1000 yards receiving (or rushing for that matter) is not that impressive of a milestone. It's 62.5 yards/game. That said, Love Stevie.

Seconded. I deeply hope as hard as my hope muscles will let me Fitz will not start next year. But he's tough and he shows fire. He's not good enough, unfortunately, but he is exactly the kind of person I love seeing on this team.

Mario Williams deserves recognition for literally taking the last 2 games off. Nothing from the guy.

A quitter who has zero self motivation as a Buffalo Bill. Perhaps new coaching will light a fire.

His sack total is meaningless look at the chump O-lines he got them from.

Most disappointing first year big free agent signing in the History of the bills, and lets face it he had HUGE fans expectations. All but the most ardent homers, who can make excuses for Mario understand this. Bottom line the team is stuck with him for 2 more years a least. Talented man who apparently has no problem being lazy on the field.

Terrible mistake from a team who has specialized in them for years.

Stamped, signed, initialed, and notarized.

Another nod to Mario Williams, who was trashed unmercifully for having a slow start and finished the season with double digit sacks.

And a less emphatic, yet still well deserved "thumbs up" for this.

Good list Sage.

Unless you are taking over for crayonz, you have got to be joking.

Not elite?? How about "not competent" or "not even minimally qualified"? Fitz wouldn't be elite if he was still playing in the Ivy league. He is HORRIBLE and this team is going nowhere as long as he is the QB. He's as bad as Sanchez. Terrible throw after terrible throw, all day today. I could care less how 'tough' he is when he can't hit an open WR ten yards away.

Still can't take you seriously bro. Honestly I'm not cool with you bashing my QB when you back Tebow. When Tebow throws for 3,000 yards and 25 or so TD's for 3 straight years, let me know.

To the OP: agree on all accounts.

It was an interesting season.

I was able to find some good in most players.

Quite a bit less so with the coaching this year.

Whole team is sucking lemons though Sage

really man? Take it somewhere else. He was far from as bad as you say. Most of us had realistic expectations from him, not the 20+ sacks that the dreamers were thinking about.

I'd take a QB with 1 year as starter, leading his team to the playoffs. The guy he replaced (orton) is also better than fitz. Stats are crap in my book. When the game was on the line the last 23 games, fitz was always able to remind us that he sucks. I'm cool with being the minority, but I'd rather have Tebow than fitz. Fitz is crap.

Where did I ever indicate "a 20 sack dreamer" thanks for the insult. Mario is on par with Aaron Schobel in his prime. That's really my own expectation. But Schobel never disappeared like Mario sometimes likes to do. Lots of people in Houston where happy to see him walk. I like the guy but Nix got schooled on the payday he handed out.
