He's gonna speak out against it, right... ?? Or maybe he will turn his back on the evangelical Christian crowd and go pro-gay marriage? You know, flip-flop again. The Mormon thing is kinda important here since some are hoping gay marriage gets recognized and the plural marriage folks can push at the gate of decriminalization and the hope of equality and recognition for their cause. Me personally, the line has to be drawn in the sand and kept things the traditional way OR don't draw any line at all and accept relationships for what consenting adults want... Or ideally do not recognize any marriage and leave it up to the religions to decide... While granting partner/civil status to any type of dependant relationship for the sake of health benefits... BUT eliminating all special tax breaks for said relationships (help pay for the health). Again... I know it is all about the economy... But this is such a thorny issue that muddies the water on both sides. Obama is polarizing to his base. Will people vote for Mitt if he doesn't break from the traditional Christians and cast down the gays officially as said by a sitting prez? Are the traditionalists gonna feel betrayed if Mitt gets all liberal on them? Or are the just gonna kick the can down the road and vote their pocket book? Again, where does Mitt stand on this... BUT I feel they should be able to be recognized even for their plural marriage if they what... Just like gay marriage, I am very critical of it, BUT not stepping in the way of it. Again, same with abortion. Of course Mormons are very whacky too. Maybe you see it as stupid, maybe it confounds you, maybe you see it as "hating." It is not, I will always vote against the hate. Mitt represents hate... No if, ands, and buts about it. The Mitt thing, he should know better that we can't possibly function as a country with a persecuted group of people in it. We can voice our opinions for or against (like Dan Cathy) what people do... But in the end, everybody gets treated equal... Even if that means taking something away from an already protected group (hetero marriages). How is that hating anybody? If anything, I am sacrificing hetero marriage (which I am in).
