Buffalodave83
Ive seen some early 53 man roster predictions and most have Moats getting cut. I hope he makes the team. Hes great for Buffalo and i believe hes a capable backup LB.

NewEra
I think he gets cut unless he puts on some weight and can play DE. I don't think he's capable of playing 4-3 OLB.
artmalibu
I think both him and Batten are gone, and are replaced with draft picks.
eball
Aside from making a name for himself as the guy who ended Brett Favre's starts streak, what has Moats shown to indicate he's "great for Buffalo?"
ChanOverChin
I think Moats will make it based pon his pass rush ability alone. I don't know how well he fits into the 4-3 type OLB, but he can certainly be used as a situational pass rusher. I expect that our DEs will be Mario Williams, M. Anderson, S. merriman, C. Kelsay, and A. Moats with moats being used primarily as a third down pass rushing specialist to spell the other four at times. The Bills may also use more than two of the five mentioned above in obvious passing situations, much like the Giants like to do. Guys who can get to the QB are too hard to find, which is why I expect the Bills to find a spot for Moats on the final roster.

Over 29 years of fanhood
I can tell you this, the bills roster is getting to the point where solid players are going to get cut. The two rooks and Barnett have a Lot of speed, and I think it's what wandstedt uses.
K-9
Can't see it. He brought little as an OLB in the 34 and I think he'll bring even less in a 43, regardless of where they line him up. I'd love for him to make a liar out of me though. I like the kid. GO BILLS!!!

Captain Hindsight
I mean great for the community. He may be and believe me as a guy who loves the city of Buffalo I really appreciate players like that. But it doesn't get him a roster spot
Jeffery Lester
Arthur will always be a legend in Buffalo for what he did to end Favre's streak. But his time to shine was last year and he did not do it. I do not see him making the team. I think this will be the end for a lot of long standing players on this team. (Moats only a 2 year vet). I think Buffalo will do a lot of house cleaning this year
Shoto
I like Moats because he is from 757. Yes I'm a homer.
Webster Guy
Yeah I like him too, but he's not a 43 LB and there is no way he plays end. We already have situational pass rushers in Merriman, Anderson and possibly Kelsay, and I think both Moats and Batten are screwed in Buff now that we are switching our primary defense to the 43. I think that's the reason GM's hate to switch back and forth from the 34 and 43, because the personnel requirements are so different and it takes years to draft the right guys and develop them in your system. I still think Dwan Edwards will drop 15 lbs and show up at 285 and win that coveted 4th spot as starting DE. He's good against the run and he is a play finisher. Anderson, Merriman and Kelsay will not do as well against the run in my opinion as Dwan. The dude was a second round pick by the Ravens in 2004 but he sat out a whole season from injury so he's played only 6 seasons, and I think he made some nice plays out there last year. Cap'nCrunch
Alex Carrington will be a strong contender at DE also, giving Kelsay a run for his money, literally.

As the overall talent of the team is improved, the overall talent level of the players we cut will be higher. It's been so long since we've had a surplus of talent. There are going to be some players we hate to see go. I too think moats will be cut and wish him luck. He seems like a nice kid.

Pilsner
Ive seen some early 53 man roster predictions and most have Moats getting cut. I hope he makes the team. Hes great for Buffalo and i believe hes a capable backup LB. I seriously want Moats and Batten to make the team but i think it's finally come to the point that the Bills have upgraded their talent (finally) that it might make promising players such as the Moats and Batten expendable. I really hated even thinking or writing that. I like these guys a hell of a lot but the team must be upgraded every year at every position and I think they'll have a tough time hanging on this year or next. If they improve to make them worthy to stay on then the better for the team!! As much as we like players, bottom line, the team needs to be always improving.
