Dr. D, you are certainly one of the most pleasant Pollyanna posters around but this response is lame. billsfreak is not happy that Fitz appears to be a little bit more than a stop gap but bf was called out for something that he was obviously right about. CB97, we've had some good fun on these boards and I respect your opinions. But your assertion that the "realists" should do something better is a little bit off. Maybe people are stuck in offices, in a car or airports and just want to kill time on here. I'm in medical sales and I sit in the OR ALL DAY either in cases (that can last for 5 hours) or waiting in lounges for a client so I kill time on here (and other websites). I'm actually glad that my life isn't so important that I can jump on here every once in a while and mix it up. The point is, I would guess that there are very few people who are sitting around and lighting a pile of Bills jerseys on fire with their bong lighter and letting this inept organization ruin their lives. I just don't don't see it that way. It also makes some (PTR) on here come off a little bit self important and "evolved". If "some" (PTR) are above it all THEN WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ON A MEANINGLESS MESSAGE BOARD IN THE FIRST PLACE? I cared more about Bills games than my own football games at times. But I do view the games as entertainment. I want nothing more than the Bills to make the playoffs. But let's be honest. People crapping on the team has the same exact effect as teh people who are pro-Bills all the time. It doesn't really matter what we do because we have little say in the team. I didn't want the Bills to cut Maybin, most fans did. I do believe we are an improved team and injuries shouldn't be an excuse. But this team's margain for error was so small, it couldn't hold up with the injuries. I think this team is headed in the right track but clearly needs more depth. And you do build through the draft but unfortunately, most fans don't see it that way. If there aren't really signs of improvement next year, then it needs to be blown up again. But calling Spiller a bust after not even 2 years is the exact hot pocket mentality that saw the Bill give up on Maybin too early. Metal Man Posted December 5, 2011 Share Posted December 5, 2011 Why is it that every time someone on this board says anything negative about the media as a whole anyone else who actually works in the media takes personal offense and gets extremely upset about it? Every single occupation on the planet has people involved doing a half-a55ed job at it. I work as an engineer and if I hear someone talking about a bunch of crappy work other engineers did my first thought isn't to fight back, first thing in my mind is that they are probably 5hitty engineers. I guess I am missing something but it seems pretty obvious to me these days, with the expanded medium, that there is a lot of bad/lazy journalism out there. I still believe Clausen can be a good QB and I don't mind saying it. LeFevour on the other hand... 3. Let's not forget the point of this post though. Promotional Robot attacked JW for simply having a different opinion than him. All JW did was give an honest assesment of the Bills (turns out he was right) then reminded Promotional to think before you speak. But Promotional Robot can't even muster up a bit of humility to say he was wrong (WHICH HE CLEARLY WAS). This isn't about being positive or negative when it comes to the Bills. I think an unwritten rule of TSW is that you don't go dredging through old posts in an attempt to humiliate a specific person. If a thread just so happens to survive for a long time, or if new information of relevance comes to light - that's one thing. But this was uncalled for, in my opinion. It does seem like a "campaign", and also making it personal - rather than just a blanket "Hey, weren't there a bunch of you dissing the media for writing off the Bills at the start of the season? I finally had the chance to review that thread and I think John took something I said about the media in general and turned it into what he considered a personal attack. Your lack of accountability is sad and your disingenuous shock over me saying that your mentality fits the profile of a Radio Programmer to a T is laughable. Go back and read how you called out JW about how to do his job. The personal attack you levied against JW was simply because you didn't agree with him. End of story. Lastly, your muddled explanation about how JW (and media) were not predicting collapse during the Bills short run of success IS ABSURD! Not sure if you noticed while you were creating your genius response but it's a 16 game season and we've seen this act before.
