Jesse Palmer disses the Bills

on College Football Live Jesse Palmer just said the Wisconsin Badgers could run all over the Bills. I know our run defense is bad by NFL standards but that is a ridiculous statement.

the only reason jesse palmer is remotely relevant is because he was on that all time television CLASSIC, "the bachelor". other than that, who gives a sh-t what he thinks! this in no way is meant to disparage the poster but is meant to disparage jesse palmer.

I'm sure he was just kidding but he's a fool for even saying it. First off - the Bills are not the worst team in the NFL. Second off - this topic has been covered a million times, but here goes:

1 - The best college team will only get 4-7 players drafted into the NFL, half of which will probably bust.

2 - The worst NFL team is a collection of college all-stars - the best players from their respective teams.

3 - NFL teams treat their craft as a full time job and the level of competition is much much higher in the NFL, with a fair amount of parity.

The Bills or any other NFL team could easily put up 100 pt against any college team and I'd be willing to wager that no college team could manage more than 2-3 first downs against any NFL team.

That's so ridiculous that it's not even funny. You've got the college team, who has MAYBE a handful of guys ready for the NFL. On the other side you have guys who are actually in the NFL. No contest.

I think if the Bills or Panthers were playing teams like Auburn, Oregon (Alabama from last season), etc... they would string together some first downs and score a few points. I agree that the college teams would not win but you have to take into account....football is a team game and chemistry between players matters. Those high performing college teams have great chemistry and systems in place. So i disagree that it would be 100-0 against great college teams. I'm guessing somewhere around 48-13, 55-17, something like that. That's against the lowest NFL teams.. The best NFL teams would beat them worse.

Whatever. The performance on the field, good or bad, speaks for itself.

No way would the difference be that significant against a top college team like Wisconsin. Sure, the Bills would probably win by 2 or 3 scores, but it would be reasonably competitive.

College players from top schools are still damn good football players, even if they don't get drafted. Other than a small number of can't-miss players, the difference between the guys who get drafted and those who don't is pretty minimal. Arian Foster leads the NFL in rushing yet was undrafted a year ago, while the Bills spent $25MM for Aaron Maybin.

After we were compared to a UFL team, we put together a nice string of decent games. Now that we're being compared to a college team, maybe we'll actually win some

the only real way to settle this controversy is to have wisconsin play the locomotives. winner gets the bills on a neutral field.

Completely ridiculous. An NFL team is vitually a college all star team. The worst team in NFL history would put up 80 points on the best college team in history. Also, if googling at work, be careful not to spell him as Jessi Palmer. Its a female pornstar

I think that Wisconsin would run all over the bills defense. Their O-Line is incredible and they have great running backs. Just sayin... :D

Add me to the camp that thinks there isnt a TON of difference between the top college programs and the worst NFL teams.

I'd say that the competition between Alabama of last year and the worst NFL team would be much closer than the competition between Boise St and most of their schedule.

Of course, out of 100 times the NFL team would win probably 95-98 times. But it's not a ridiculous statement.

Especially when focusing in on a single part of the teams such as "Bills Run D vs. Best Running Big Program College Team"

Right, and Wisconson's passing game would be approached the same as the Vikings? I know Adrian Peterson got 107 yards and averaged 6.7, but we were also dealing with some talented receivers and NFL QBs. And without Peterson's long run, he was 15 for 64 for just over four yards. And is the single game rushing record holder, HOF talent with 23 100+ rushing games in four years.

I do enjoy these threads, but think a lot of people should tune in and watch Saturday and Sunday football. The NFL is a huge leap from college, and the overall level of speed, strength, and quickness is so much higher as well as execution. I don't think any bad NFL vs great NCAA game is even close, and the talk radio "Wisconson would run all over the Bills" is amusing at best.

But if we do set up one of these games, can we make sure we play it in Toronto? Canada's lack of capital punishment could come in handy as various Bills players face murder charges. Plus then we might actually win a game in Toronto!

Again, if the quote/paraphrasing of Palmer in this thread is accurate, then he is talking about ONE part of the Bills defense VS. ONE part of Wisconsin's offense.

So far, I dont hear anyone reporting he said "The Bills would lose to the Badgers in a football game". Simply "If you lined up the Wisc O against the Bills D, the Badgers would be able to run the ball". Based on what we've seen, and the talent we are fielding (McCargo, Maybin, etc), I dont think its that much of a stretch.

Also, he obviously said this with some exaggeration to make a point.

Ditto that!

But

How bout them Bills, they're being talked about on national t.v.

Like the song goes any lovin is good lovin and TO goes any pub is good pub.

If the Bills aren't going to win any football games, maybe they could fight back by getting their own reality show. It could be a natural right after the TOcho show.
