Easley could have returned.

Like the dude says...makes you think of Poz, McKelvin and Crowell.

What is going on with this team? Do you think we are just trying to stock pile players and see what we have...so this was done as a way to make a spot for another player? This way they can develop Easley and hopefully STILL find another good WR for NEXT year?

Either way...IT IS VERY WEIRD!

Gailey already advised the fans that he was not up to speed and wouldn't be up to speed with the offense. Gailey was prepared to enter the season with whom we have.

same with Batten

Still unclear why but WR and DT are the two hardest positions to come in and contribute quickly. Easley would have been the 5th WR and at best would have gotten a few returns and ST play. This gives Hardy a better chance to make the team and find out if he can develop into a productive receiver.

I agree, having Easley miss a year of PT isn't as huge a deal as it would seem. JMO

Isn't there a window to activate people off IR, like Hardy was last year? Around Week 10?

Being off crutches is not the same thing as being ready to play football.

Not really. That only applies to players who haven't yet suited up. Hardy was put in PUP list at the beginning of training camp last year because he was recovering from a knee injury from the previous year. Easley already started playing in camp, so he can't start the season on that PUP list. Besides, he's already on IR.

Easley missed way too much time and even if he came back at the earliest possible time, he would have missed two months of practice and learning the system and the game, not to mention we would have to cut another player. It was clearly the right thing to do to IR him. He was a project to begin with regardless of his good early showings.

The Bills didn't make a mistake with Crowell, Poz, or McKelvin. Unfortunately for Easley, he missed too much of camp and the Bills didn't know how fast he would heal, not that it probably would have mattered since he'd have been useless for at least half the season.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I think they couldn't afford to waste a roster spot on a player who wouldn't be available until 3 or 4 games through the season, and who probably would not have been effective for the entire season. I think it's ridiculous when fans think a coach or the front office makes player decisions based on some hidden agenda, rather than winning football games (which is what sells tickets.) I think it's annoying when fans constantly second guess every decision coming out of OBD. Not that they our FO has the greatest track record, but believe me (or don't) most fans would run this team into the ground in a single season.

It never ceases to amaze me how people want to micro manage the goings and comings at OBD.

Oh how easy it is to play World Series of Poker when you can see the hands of the opponents.

Not to mention they put the percetages up on the screen for you to see the odd of winning.....

No the Bills know exactly what they are doing. They are taking a player not ready to contribute this season and using the system to not expose him to being claimed by another team to go on PS. The injury became a good excuse.

Crowell got injured in Tampa Bay and is now in the UFL. Poz and McKelvin were going to miss huge chunks of time. You need players who can actually help in games. Not taking up roster spots for two months and can't contribute. And because "sources" say Easley could have come back does not make it true. It also could be he could have come back but risked further set back if it was injured again. Playing fantasy football doesn't make us experts on injuries or how a team deals with injuries. And today's media is not the most reliable. Just sayin'. Think of him and Batten as two extra draft choices for next season. They get a year to get stronger and learn the pro lifestyle. Not a bad thing. Can't have folks taking up roster spots for chunks of time and not being able to contribute.

It's funny cuz it's true.

Don't forget about picking up Buluga instead of Spiller too.

You mean Bulaga who is playing guard when he comes back from being injured? That Bulaga? LoL.
