  1. He is a stud. Can’t wait to see him bigger, stronger, faster and understanding this Defense fully.
  2. Not only are these two guys first round picks, the trade up to get Allen while losing our starting left tackle and giving up second round draft picks will set the franchise back at least another four years. This GM and Coach are Beyond lost and the longer they hang around, the longer the rebuild will take.
  3. He was awful today. Worst player on the field. He's been poor most of the season and I think today was on par with or as bad as he's been all season. Critically poor instincts........big target who can't get off blocks.........not strong or physical enough.......poor leverage........doesn't move well thru traffic........doesn't make plays in a scheme where he should be making a ton of them. He's young........yeah........but this isn't the QB position.......good MLB's are almost without exception tremendous right out of the gate. Don't be surprised if he's at OLB next season folks.
  4. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001007053/article/top-25-nfl-rookies-of-2018-saquon-barkley-leads-final-rankings 1. Saquon Barkley 2. Baker Mayfield 3. Derwin James 4. Darius Leonard 5. Bradley Chubb 6. Quenton Nelson 7. Phillip Lindsay 8. Leighton Vander Esch 9. Nick Chubb 10. Denzel Ward 11. Roquan Smith 12. Lamar Jackson 13. Sam Darnold 14. Josh Allen "Allen used his legs and big arm to keep the Bills competitive despite a very suspect offensive line and nondescript weapons in the passing game. 15. Tremaine Edmunds "Edmunds has rare size for his position and he was ultra-productive for the Bills this fall." 16. Mike McGlinchey 17. Calvin Ridley 18. Jaire Alexander 19. Anthony Miller 20. Sony Michel 21. Donte Jackson 22. Fred Warner 23. B.J. Hill 24. Michael Dickson 25. Braden Smith Between the two above players listed, the NFL posted a video of Josh's top 10 plays from 2018. I suspect his throw to Clay at Miami would have been the top play had Clay caught the ball. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000001006887/Josh-Allen-s-top-10-plays-2018-season
  5. Both have the speed and quickness. Sam had a little more strength but Edmunds seems to be better in coverage.
  6. I routinely scour the internet for good stuff on the bills, and came across this on youtube (searched the board for it, don't think it has been posted). What really impressed me from the video was how much potential Phillips showed, considering how little attention most of us pay to his impact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfZ15Fxfddw
  7. When McD drafted a 6'5 250 LB rangy LBr these are the type of disrupting plays he envisioned Far from a finished product and he needs to trust his instincts but even when he diagnosis wrong he has the athleticism to make up for it It's awfully hard to throw over a long dude like Tremaine in the middle and he's great in blitz situations Super excited for year 2
  8. The only thing I'm taking out of today's presser is that Tremaine Edmunds is on equal footing with Josh Allen. Leader of the Offense and leader of the Defense both fielding questions in their second seasons. He's definitely staying in at MLB and he's going to take the LEAP!
  9. I didn't see this talked about anywhere else so I figured I'd start a thread because why not? Not sure how many people caught Brian Baldinger's breakdown on Edmunds last week, but he highlighted the fact that Edmunds led the team not only in tackles, but passes defensed as well. Three of those pass defenses ended up as interceptions as two were deflected to Poyer and one to Milano. So, to me, that kinda adjusts his stat-line a little bit. He had 121 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Add in the three deflections and he caused seven turnovers last season. Just thought that kinda stood out. We know it took him some time to settle into his new position but as the season went on you could definitely see improvement. And that's one of the things I'm most excited for this year, is seeing their top two picks from 2018 taking the next step. Towards the end of the season, they occasionally let Edmunds rush the passer from the edge. I hope they continue to do that just to throw some different things at opponents. What does everyone think Edmunds is capable of in year two?
  10. NFL 2019: Five players who are poised to make the leap and become Year 2 breakouts This isn't a surprise to Bills fans. But, it is fun to see the national media recognize it. One positive that strikes me about our defense, is how well-balanced it is in age. Youth, and the future core, is served with Edmunds, Oliver, Milano and White. Meanwhile, our veterans, still in their prime, with Hughes, Poyer and Hyde, are leading the way. We are set up for a 5-7 year run as one of the NFL's dominant defenses.
  11. I know i know we need a QB and I'm all for doing what it takes to trade up but its looking less and less likely that will happen. So with that being said who would like these pks if we can't trade up? Adding Edmunds & LVE would be huge for our Defense these guys are tackling machines that are sideline to sideline and both play with a major chip on they're shoulders there both big guys but have the speed and athleticism to cover bks and TEs with ease. Edmunds will play the strong and Vander Esch will man the middle these guys will give Mcd the Kuechly and Davis duo he's looking for in his Defense. I would be drooling over the possibilities for our Defense with Star and Kyle eating up blockers while these guys roam free to clean up the bones on the plate. Why reach for Mason or Lamar let's go with McCarron and load up on offensive pieces in the 2nd and 3rd rd. Who's in fellas,
  12. Its looking like the more coveted QBs in this draft will be long gone before the 12th pick and those that do fall to 12 McCarron may have more upside than. Possibly QB in round 2. Im thinking they're shifting gears and aiming at getting a stud linebacker. Its obvious by looking at Carolinas LB core that McDermott greatly values having top notch Lbers in his system. As of right now we have absolutely no obvious starters on our roster. If not Tremaine maybe Roquan Smith*, OLB/ILB, Georgia ?
  13. Found a few nice articles comparing the top two linebackers in the draft. The first link is the most detailed article. Speaks glowingly of both, but push comes to shove - picks Edmunds over Smith. Four articles overall 3:1 Edmunds! https://www.fanragsports.com/nfl-draft/nfl-draft-tale-of-tape-roquan-smith-vs-tremaine-edmunds/ https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/draft-analysis-which-lb-best-fits-bears-tremaine-edmunds-or-roquan-smith/ http://dabearsbros.com/tremaine-edmunds-vs-roquan-smith/ https://www.ninersnation.com/2018/4/14/17237236/2018-nfl-draft-scouting-reports-tremaine-edmunds-roquan-smith Another article that polls various people on the Edmunds vs. Smith question: https://www.49ers.com/news/draft-panel-take-your-pick-roquan-smith-or-tremaine-edmunds 3:2 Edmunds! And last, but not the least, another detailed video look at both of them: https://beargoggleson.com/2018/04/16/85064/
  14. Bills' Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano Bring Swagger to Transform Defense The Buffalo Bills are entering the second year of the Sean McDermott era. After snapping an 18-year long postseason drought in his first season as Buffalo’s head coach, the Bills are looking to take another step forward in the 2018 NFL season. Despite the teams unexpected success, general manager Brandon Beane remained aggressive throughout the offseason. He bolstered the defensive line, a unit that was a huge weakness of the 2017 squad, signing defensive tackle Star Lotulelei and edge rusher Trent Murphy during free agency before trading up to select Tremaine Edmunds with the No. 16 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft. Just 19-years old on draft day, Edmunds was a star for Virginia Tech and will likely become the youngest in NFL history when he takes the field in Week 1. Edmunds has star potential and he’ll be playing alongside Matt Milano, who surprised everyone with an impressive rookie campaign despite being a fifth-round draft choice. Buffalo clawed their way into the postseason largely due to the stellar play by by the team’s secondary. The opportunistic unit helped the defense intercept 17 passes and force 25 turnovers in 2017. General manager Brandon Beane and Head Coach Sean McDermott clearly knew they couldn’t rely simply on big plays to keep games close in 2018. Despite an inconsistent, and sometimes stagnant offense, Buffalo’s front seven was terrible against the run. In coverage, teams took advantage of Buffalo’s linebackers, who lacked the athletic ability to be counted on in pass coverage. Here at Cover 1, we broke down the defensive line overhaul, highlighting the players they added and how the defense would benefit from players like Lotulelei and Trent Murphy. Both are quality players that probably don’t get the recognition they deserve because their roles put them in a position to facilitate plays, rather than make them. However, It’s Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano that should reap the benefits of those additions.
  15. If the Bills trade pick 12 and 53 to the Colts and get the 6th pick and select: 6 - LB - Tremaine Edmunds 22 - Best available QB based on which falls, Darnold & Rosen are taken by Browns and Jets respectively. Broncos take Quinten Nelson, Dolphins don't take QB as they are financially committed to Tannehill for 2 more years due to salary cap ramifications. Cardinals have choice between Allen, Mayfield, Jackson and Rudolph. Nobody else has QB as it highest priority from picks 7-14 and 16-21. Three are left on the board at 22, who are you taking?
  16. Any interest in bringing in Tre Edmund's brother in to replace Taiwan Jones. It's a minor roster move but, it could help with the development of Tre to have his older brother here. Also, it looks like he was moving to FB, which could make DiMarco expendable eventually.
  17. Yeah he’s young yeah it’s preseason but yuck looks lost
  18. 2018 NFL rookie rankings: Darius Leonard on top at quarter mark With the 2018 regular season at the quarter mark, former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah has reviewed his notes from the first four weeks to rank the top 25 rookies in the league today. Heading into Week 5, it's time to update my rookie rankings. This list will continue to change throughout the season, as we see more rookies given increased roles for their respective teams. I had a very difficult time sorting out the top three players on this list. They were each productive, impactful difference-makers during the first four games of the season. NOTE: Arrows reflect changes from the preseason rookie rankings.
  19. I know that the national media is all excited about JA's first stat but most Bills fans knew even after the first preseason game that he shd be the starter. Especially with the McCarron injury it has become a no brainer (my apologies to NP). I am more interested in how the other first rounder is doing. Edmunds appeared to improve as the game vs. the Browns went on. So I am quite hopeful today. But I am still wondering if we are wasting him at MLB. His natural instincts are to attack and so he bites on lotsa fakes. I am wondering if the Bills may be better off moving him to SAM and signing Navarro Bowman to man the middle. He could blitz or fall back and that is the choice of the D.C. instead of reaction to a developing play that an MLB shd have.
  20. http://m.espn.com/nfl/playerseasonstats?season=2018&playerId=3929950&teamId=2 Dude has played every snap (didn't see him come off yesterday) and is producing and getting better every week. Big stars I like here. 2 FF and 5 PD. He's a playmaker.
