There are more people now than during the election who identify themselves as independents. The majority of the increase is from Republicans who since the election now identify themselves as independents because they think the Republican party is too moderate. The percentage of people who now identify themselves as Republicans in polls is in the 20s. These new post-election independents would never have voted for Obama. Independent no longer means they're all moderate. How hard is that to understand?

I think alot of people who have negative views of gays don't know any personally or haven't taken the time to get to know them. I used to have the typical religious view regarding them, but then I actually talked to some and got to know their issues, and my views changed. I don't have to like what they do, but I have learned to be tolerant. To each his own.

Yeah, it's "wild" to say the radical right's complaining means moderation is winning the day. I love how all the righties keep pointing to independents, when over the past year the number of people who identify themselves as independents has risen because they're former Republicans who think the party is too moderate for them. Independent no longer means "willing to consider either party". These Republipendents might vote for a Republican, but would rarely consider a Democrat.

The more the radical right complains, the more confident I am that we made the right decision.

I'd stick with Johnson, he's going for the rushing title and perhaps 2000 yards, so he'll get alot of touches.
-
I'd play Jackson for the yardage as he'll get alot of touches, and Bradshaw since they like to use him near the goalline. And I would play Wayne, as the Colts will still try to win and remain undefeated.

If the Colts are 15-0, will NBC flex the Bills game?
PastaJoe replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL schedule doesn't show any week 17 Sunday night game. All the games are at 1pm or 4:15pm. Is that because there isn't one, or that it's TBD? -
Assuming they're not addressed in FA, the first 3 picks should be dedicated to 3 of these priority positions with the best player available: QB, OT, DT, LB.
-
Assuming he's able to finish the game without an injury (not a given with their line): ) How many TD's ...... 0 TD 2) How many INT's...... 2 INT 3) How many yards..... 145 YARDS 4) Comp. %................ 49% (16 of 33) 5) QB rating................ Don't know how that's computed 6) Sacks..................... 3 Most of the yardage will be from short passes to the RBs. They'll run the ball until they get too far behind and are forced to pass long. I never said he was good, but we know what the other guys can do, so let's see what he can do so we know what we have for next season.

Buffalo a "real player" for Vick next year
PastaJoe replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he is the best option available, then they should pursue him. But it remains to be seen if he's the best option. If they draft a QB in the early rounds, I'd like to see a stable veteran QB on the roster to guide him. If not Fitzpatrick, then perhaps Garcia or Delhomme as a backup. -
FAA throws a 5 million dollar party

So you're saying that Bush didn't let Bin Laden escape from Tora Bora, didn't choose to invade Iraq, he did put pressure on Freddie/Fannie to curtail lending, and he prevented the recession and reduced the debt with his tax cuts without spending cuts? Because those were all things that happened on his watch. And since Cons like to throw security around, let's not forget that Obama has kept us safe for longer than Bush since the start of his presidency, something Dick Cheney convienently forgets. (9/11+100 days and counting). You can opine and speculate, but that's all your analysis of his decisions are. You're not going to change your mind no matter what facts are presented to you, so what's the point. I'm satisfied with his decisions on Iraq, Afghanistan, the economy, global warming, and health care, and believe they were good decisions that will have positive outcomes. He's doing what he can with the cards he was dealt, and is keeping his campaign promises as much as he can given the herd of cats in the Congress. Having a big tent means having alot of conflicting opinions, which is where the Congress is at. Too much for the right and not enough for the left, which is probably the best that can be expected. -

Really? Obama will be thrilled to hear that we can hit the reset button and just forget about Iraq, Afganistan, and the recession. Damn, who knew it was so easy? Over and done, clean slate. -

A president who governs in the middle; that's a good thing. Cut them some slack, they're frustrated that their candidates only appeal to the Rock the Chair voters.

Are you happy the Bills lost?
PastaJoe replied to Endzone Animal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't root against them and still get frustrated when they lose, but once they're out of the playoff race I fear that if they win the last games, it might make Ralph think they're better than they are and not make the necessary radical changes. -

I don't like the loophole they left, "The regulation provides exceptions only for safety or security or if air traffic control advises the pilot in command that returning to the terminal would disrupt airport operations." Having any plane return to the terminal could disrupt operations to some degree. -
CNN)– In a late night posting on her Twitter feed, Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin continued to blast climate change believers Friday, calling the talks in Copenhagen, Denmark a representation of man's "arrogance," for believing people have an impact on nature. "Arrogant&Naive2say man overpwers nature," Palin tweeted. "Earth saw clmate chnge4 ions;will cont 2 c chnges.R duty2responsbly devlop resorces4humankind/not pollute&destroy;but cant alter naturl chng," the former Republican vice presidential nominee wrote. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/page/2/ Disregarding her silly statements... Ions?! It's too bad she can't be more proton on the issue instead of being so neutron.

The Competitive Enterprise Institute is a public interest group dedicated to free enterprise and limited government. http://cei.org/about In other words, we'll say whatever it takes to make sure nobody threatens the profits of our supporters, regardless of the facts. Just like Pat Buchanan, who last night said that it should be every country for itself when it comes to the environment. I guess some people think that like immigration, you can close the border when it comes to the environment and it will solve all the problems.

Whites to be minority by 2050

Wouldn't have happened if we had stayed out of Iraq and left them with their army as a strong counter force to Iranian influence in the region. Now they can't even defend their own oil fields. More consequences of a war of bad choice.

My favorite part of WCW was when Hall and Nash started up the NWO and broke kayfabe. It was such a departure from the old school programming. Of course my memories go back to watching the WWF on Sunday mornings before having to go to church, with the theme song 'Classical Gas' and Vince McMahon doing the announcing. Polish Power Ivan Putski, The Grand Wizard, and Haystacks Calhoon. But the original ECW that was on late night on weekends was where you saw the most 'Holy s#@t!' moments. Sabu, The Sandman, and Rob Van Dam.

Reid looking to possibly strip Lieberman of....
PastaJoe replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The last Quinnipaic poll shows that Lieberman isn't even representing the majority view of his own state in regards to a public option. Of course I'm sure the insurance companies in Conn. are happy with him. 64.
