What to expect BILLS vs PATRIOTS
PastaJoe replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. The Brady rule gets called as a Bills pass rusher lunges at Brady and taps him on the calf. 2. Tony Kornhiser talks about how playing more games in Toronto is a good thing. 3. Edwards gets blindsided and fumbles as whoever is playing LT for no-show Jason Peters misses a block. 4. Fred Taylor scores 2 TDs from in close and the broadcasters remind us that the Bills looked at him in free agency. 5. The camera shows TO sitting by himself on the bench in the last minutes of the game with a look of, "WTF?!". -
I'd rerun that more than one day at a time.

Clinton (Obama) blame the US for the cartal drug wars
PastaJoe replied to VABills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Anybody who doesn't believe that the demand for drugs in the U.S. is a major reason for the drug cartals and the violence is delusional. Obviously if there wasn't a demand, there wouldn't be profit for the drug lords, and the money to buy the guns and continue their operations. The drug trade funds everything from the violence in Mexico to the Taliban in Afganistan. Anybody who continues to partake in using drugs is directly resposible. That should be the message to teens and young adults. Never mind what it does to themselves, show them the graphic pictures that their recreational drug use can and has resulted in the death of American soldiers and police. Given the amount of money involved, I don't think we can ever cut off the supply. It has to be the demand. -
What if they were killed along with the other Dharma members.

We'll probably see it called for the first time when a Bills rusher tackles Brady in the first game. What if they dive at the QB and trip him with a hand on the ankle and he bangs his knee on the ground, will that be a penalty? What's the dividing line between a below knee tackle and a penalty?

It's all fun and games until it bites a neighbor's head off. Hippos are the number one cause of death by animal in Africa.

It could be the type of toxin that requires mixing with another solution to become active, so maybe he's just experiencing some temporary respiratory symptoms. I'm really disliking the president's daughter, I look forward to the president finding out about what she's been doing.

I just bought 200 more shares of GE stock last week with some of my tax return, and it's already up about 3% over what I paid.

Sorry boys, Winne Cooper is married....

I'd be willing to put on a Dick Cheney mask while Rush Limbaugh talks on the radio for a piece of that. -
Bills can stay in the Buffalo / Niagara region if........
PastaJoe replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I imagine the post-Wilson Bills will be purchased by a group that includes both Rogers Communications and the Jim Kelly group. The Bills will eventually split their schedule and play 4 games in Buffalo and 4 in Toronto. Thus they can say the Bills are still in Buffalo but get the additional revenue from Canada. They'll say it's the best they can do to ensure the long term viability of the Bills staying in the region. -
67 year old chairman of UTC is in a divorce case with his 36 year old Swedish wife of 7 years. She wants the judge to invalidate the $43 million post-nup agreement and award her $100 million. http://www.cnbc.com/id/29826204/for/cnbc/

We still don't know what the left side of the line will look like, with no LG and a possible LT holdout, to go along with no TE and a possible missing Lynch. With a strong NE pass rush, we could be looking at Fitzpatrick taking over for a banged up Edwards by the 4th quarter as a likely scenario.

A proposal for league realignment
PastaJoe replied to keepthefaith's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can't have teams from the same city in the same division or conference. The networks that bid on the broadcast rights want to maximize their viewership, which relates to how much they'll pay, therefore it makes more sense to keep Jets/Giants, Oakland/SF, and Baltimore/Washington in seperate conferences. A more reasonable realignment: AFC East: Baltimore, Miami, NE, NYJ North : Buffalo, Cincy, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, South : Houston, Indianapolis, Tennessee, Jacksonville West : Denver, KC, Oakland, SD NFC East: Carolina, NYG, Philly, Washington North : Chicago, Detroit, GB, Minn South : Atlanta, NO, TB, St Louis West : Arizona, Dallas, SF, Seattle -
Heard a story today that someone leaked that the fix is in and the final 4 have already been decided on. You know that the Goth guy is going to win, he's the most marketable.

The team lacks veteran leadership and grit. Who would have thought that their best players in the past month would be the backup goalies. Tallinder has been bad since he came back, and he takes Lydman down with him. He should have been traded, and make Butler and Numminen regulars. Resigning Connolly just insures two more years of soft backchecking. They should have brought in a couple of veterans like Bill Guerin to bring back some leadership they lost when Drury left. Look how Guerin has helped turn Crosby and the Penguins around. Even Sean Avery would have been a spark to show some life in the forwards. Instead they brought in a young guy from Toronto who is hardly noticed in the games. At this point, missing the playoffs would be the type of message that would hopefully signal to ownership that more significant changes are needed. Squeeking into the playoffs would perpetuate the same old, same old next season.

Quick, cut T.O. and sign Holt.

Corporations fleeing US to low tax Switzerland

I don't consider hiring at Walmart while laying off at United Technologies "job growth". Apples and oranges. -
Troop Deployment to Mexican Border Under Consideration
PastaJoe replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Is this necessary, I thought President Chuck Norris of Texas was going to secede and rearm the Alamo. -
Or he could just follow the conservative way and not bother with the woman by using a wide stance in bathrooms or chasing after pages at work.

Corporations fleeing US to low tax Switzerland
PastaJoe replied to Fingon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Fortunately, the U.S. built up a surplus of jobs during the Bush years due to the tax cuts for the wealthy who graciously didn't move any jobs out of the U.S. and created a plethora of new jobs. I mean, that's how trickle down economics worked, right? -
The difference is that NE had Brady to step in, the Bills have nobody to step in at LT or LG yet. Get some adequate replacements first and then make the trade if necessary. Or get a couple of high draft picks to address the need.

Even Warren Buffett opposes Card Check legislation
PastaJoe replied to Fingon's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Under present law, employees can form a union by signing a card expressing their desire to unionize. If 30% or more sign the cards, the cards are submitted to the National Labor relations Board (NLRB) who will organize a secret ballot election to determine the outcome of the employee desires to form a union. If more that 50% of the employees sign the cards then the union is presumed to exist by virtue of this card check process. However, an employer can request a secret ballot election that would challenge the card check process and therefore cause a formal secret ballot election to take place to determine the final outcome of the unionization process. Unionization advocates want the current employer right to call for an election to be eliminated if more than 50% of employees vote to form a union based solely on the card check process. No secret ballot election would be necessary. The reason is there is concern that employers will use the pre-election process to layoff or harass pro-union employees and to threaten other employees in a bid to defeat union authorization. -
My one issue with the safe room they were in was, don't you think that there would be some communication system in there to talk to some off-site security location? The president wouldn't be cut off from the outside world. If they were able to do that, then the VP would have approved the assault right away. I think Renee will eventually leave her FBI job and become part of Jack's team, taking Bill's role.

Cincinnati was founded in 1788 by John Cleves Symmes and Colonel Robert Patterson. Surveyor John Filson (also the author of The Adventures of Colonel Daniel Boone) named it "Losantiville" from four terms, each of a different language, meaning "the city opposite the mouth of the Licking River." Ville is French for "city," anti is Greek for "opposite", os is Latin for "mouth", and "L" was all that was included of "Licking River". In 1790, Arthur St. Clair, the governor of the Northwest Territory, changed the name of the settlement to "Cincinnati" in honor of the Society of the Cincinnati, of which he was a member. The society honored General George Washington, who was considered a latter day Cincinnatus, the Roman who was called to serve Rome as dictator, an office which he immediately resigned after completing his task of defeating the Aequians.
