  1. Anybody who thinks that gay civil marriage is a threat to their own marriage doesn't have a very good marriage in the first place.
  2. Sure, and if the Republicans had won they and Rush and Hannity wouldn't have been crowing about how Obama's policies had been rejected by the voters.
  3. I would have preferred Orakpo to Maybin as he's more of a 3-down, all around DE. The linemen picks are OK, but I wished they picked a true OT like Britten. Same with the Harris pick, I would rather have a true OLB. Didn't like all the CB picks. The Nelson pick was good value. Overall, I'd give them a B for talent, but a C for picking players that will have to change positions. This was a foundation draft, in that they're building a foundation that may be fruitful in a couple of years. But given the schedule and division, I expect they will be competing for 3rd in the division, will once again miss the playoffs, Dick will be gone next year, and we'll have to undergo another 2-3 year rebuilding under another 2nd tier retread coach.
  4. His play has been compared to Cato June. A bit weak in pass coverage.
  5. GLENS FALLS, N.Y. (AP) — Almost a month after a special election in a heavily Republican congressional district, the Democratic candidate claimed victory Friday when his GOP opponent conceded in a race that focused attention on President Barack Obama's stimulus plan. After the March 31 election in New York's 20th District, Democrat Scott Murphy and Republican Jim Tedisco were separated by a handful of votes with thousands of absentee ballots to be counted. For nearly four weeks, the lead flipped back and forth but Murphy's advantage started to grow this week and was more than 400 votes on Thursday. The diverse district stretches from the rural Adirondack Mountains, south of the Canadian border, to the mid-Hudson Valley, north of New York City. It has more than 196,000 registered Republicans compared with about 125,000 Democrats. Nationwide, Republicans have taken a pounding in the past two election cycles and in New York, the pain has been acute. They lost three congressional seats in 2006 and three more last year, leaving just three Republicans in the 29-seat state delegation. They also lost the state Senate for the first time in four decades last November, and every statewide elected office is held by a Democrat. Early on, Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele declared the 20th a top priority for 2009. For Republicans, victory would have given them a claim in the heavily Democratic Northeast. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationw...0,4878860.story So much for the Republican resurgence, maybe the +70,000 more Republicans were busy buying teabags. Or they support Obama's policies.
  6. That seems like a fair and consistent response from the teabaggers. This is the best thing to happen to her, now she's going to become the poster child for the anti gay marriage crowd, and get plenty of publicity and speaking engagements from it. She was on FoxNews (of course), and said when she was asked the question, she asked God what she should do, and decided to say she was against it. The religious right will eat that up.
  7. He's posting for Republican supporters, most of whom are older and might have vision problems (figuratively and literally).
  8. The economy, foreign policy, Iraq, Afganistan, health care, education, energy, and stem cell research never came up? Really? And the spending on the economic recovery and bailouts didn't come up because the scope of the problem didn't come to light until the election was almost over. And when it did, and McCain said, "The fundamentals of the economy are strong", that only gave the voters more reason to vote for Obama, which they did. I never said the majority Americans support what he proposes just because they like him, that's what you're saying. I'm saying they continue to trust his judgement on complex issues, and are encouraged by the policies he's enacted so far on many issues, in less than 100 days. He continues to have high favorables because of what he's done and proposes to do.
  9. I've had a couple done, the last just a month ago. Yes, the prep is the worst. I was gagging on the drink and couldn't down all of it. Just when you think you're done, the intestines start bubbling again. But by the time you go for the procedure, you'll feel better. They give you a mild sedative to make you a bit drowsy, and you just feel a slight pressure but not any pain when they put the scope in. I actually fell asleep for a bit, so it didn't seem long at all. But be prepared to have more frequent bowel movements for the next couple of weeks afterwards. Not like the runs, it just seems like everything goes through your system faster.
  10. He's "middle road" of what American voters support, otherwise he wouldn't continue to have high job ratings after the actions he has taken. It might not be what you like as a middle road, but it's where the majority of Americans are. And when the economy recovers, I'm sure the right wingers will try to downplay the success of Obama's policies, because they have nothing else to contribute.
  11. The rumor is that Regier and Drury had agreed on a contract, but it was rejected by Golisano. FYI, Ruff is only the 3rd coach in NHL history (since 1917) to keep his job after missing the playoffs for 5 of 7 seasons. The others were Frank Boucher and Barry Trotz. Looks like another season of inconsistancy and excuses.
  12. Happy isn't the right word, a better word would be relieved and confident that there are now competent people with the right policies in the White House to move this country forward positively on a number of fronts (economic, foreign policy, social issues). And I'm satisfied with the people in government that I voted for, I can't say the same for some that others have voted for. Some of the Democrats in the House are trying to push Obama too far to the left, and the Repubs offer no viable alternatives and are more interested in partisan politics than working with Obama. Fortunately he's been taking the middle road that most voters support. I'll be happy when the economy finally recovers.
  13. I'm quite sure that there is real anger and anguish over the fact that Obama and the Democrats were chosen by the majority of voters to lead the country after Karl Rove's attempt to establish a permanent Republican majority failed. But the fact remains that they represent a minority of voters, maybe as much as 30%, but still a clear minority, while the majority of Americans continue to support Obama and his policies, knowing that he is working to fix the problems created before he was elected. I wonder where all this anger over government and spending was when Bush and the Republican majority were creating record deficits, and putting our children further in debt by not paying for the spending, and not vetoing any spending bills. Where were the protests then? But of course this Teabagger movement is a catch-all for anybody who doesn't like Obama or his policies, while not offering any viable alternatives for getting the country out of the current economic problems, other than more of the same failed policies of the last 8 years. But feel free to continue to teabag, it's great entertainment in-between the Palin family follies and cranky Cheney.
  14. So Jewish people in NYC are more important than those in any other NFL city? The Bills should offer to move one of the games to Toronto, and then the Jets can play the Bills at the Ralph.
  15. Too bad you didn't remember that when people protested the Iraq invasion or the Patriot Act.
  16. What's curious is how you mistakenly stereotype people.
  17. Nothing much will change as long as Regier remains. He's too afraid to make big changes, so we'll get some minor change to a 3rd liner, and the promise that it was another growing year for the young players, and it's time they step up. So once again they'll be fighting for the 6th-8th playoff spot. Good enough to maybe make the playoffs, but not enough to challenge for the Cup.
  18. Go with the family friendly section, just families with kids, and senior citizens, with no drinking. The sightlines are still good, you're facing towards the scoreboard, and you get a good view of the cheerleaders. Bring your binoculors for closeups. And sunglasses if it's sunny.

  20. Those here still alive will be too busy to use the internet, as they spend their time working out their artificial hearts by using the Viagra nanobots to boink their Japanese sex robots. Two Bills Drive will be gone, replaced by Main Street, USA, where the fans of the Disneyland Bills will debate when the revived cryogenic heads of Ralph Wilson and Walt Disney will deliver the first Super Bowl championship to the Bills fans.
  21. Given that RB #1 is suspended, and RB #2 is unsigned, it wouldn't take much to consider any signing as an "upgrade".
  22. Real Genius - Val Kilmer? "You wore out my machine, what kind of woman are you?"
  23. Maybe the Release Show is actually the ESPN analysts sitting in a circle with Tom Brady in the middle.
  24. Casino "I once stole a pornographic book that was printed in braille. I used to rub the dirty parts."
  25. Trading Places? The Jerk? "Lighten up, Francis".
