  1. I'm wondering if Allen in some regards viewed her as a reason he hasn't been able to be more focused on football? Allen said he has "never been more focused on football and doing what it takes to get us over the hump" and I am wondering if he viewed her as something that was standing in the way of that, either from taking time away from his focus or because he had other responsibilities. It seems to me at least that Allen doesn't want any potential distractions from being able to get things accomplished and he viewed her as one of these distractions and likely came to the realization that if he wanted to win a Super Bowl, she had to go. Almost like he wants total commitment to football and being the best but knew that he couldn't have that with her around. They always say that it's lonely at the top because of all the relationships you burn to get there due to your singular focus and unwillingness to compromise the cause in anyway...seems like Allen is taking that to heart and realizes that.
  2. He looks like 330 pound of chewed bubblegum but he can move well for his size...
  3. I am from Buffalo and my best friend growing up was a huge Raiders fan as a kid and now has been a Colts fan for a long time...I don't know how you do it either...
  4. Bills probably won't be affected by this at all... Bye week 13 followed by two National games of the week at 4:25 on Fox and CBS which they will protect obviously, and then a Saturday night game against the Chargers which is ineligible. Only week 17 could be in play with Bills against Patriots but I doubt that will be the best game on the schedule that week and if it is, CBS will likely protect it.
  5. East Aurora is good...Hamburg is also a good choice.
  6. A few months too late for the 49ers liking... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2023/05/22/nfl-brings-back-emergency-third-quarterback-rule/amp/
  7. Wasn't much time needed...it was pretty clear to anyone that saw that clip.
  8. I thought he played very well in the playoffs. And down the stretch of the season... I don't doubt he could have a major impact on the defense this year, he certainly has all the tools and the work ethic to.make it happen.
  9. More like that it's a test to see if it's feasible or if it causes too big of a competitive disadvantage.
  10. Sounds like a bank where they give out titles for free.
  11. Another legend passes away...he was 87 https://sports.yahoo.com/legendary-browns-rb-jim-brown-dies-at-87-193052425.html Brown's legacy went much further than just football.
  12. I can't take credit for it, I heard one of the NFL Insider guys talking about this on sports radio the other day(can't remember who), but said that the Jags playing back to back games on London wasn't by accident.
  13. It's actually likely more than that. Jags are building a new stadium and will need a place to play for 2 years. This is likely a test to see if it is feasible for the Jags to play in London and the only feasible way that makes sense is for them to play all their road games first where they would be based out of Jacksonville and be able to have their practices, meetings, etc there or play all their "home" games in London first, where they would be playing the first or last x weeks. This is likely a test to see if it is feasible and/or fair for the Jags to have a week when they are established there already playing a team coming in on Thursday/Friday to see if it creates a massive advantage for the Jags and disadvantage to the other team. If the Bills get blown out, that probably goes off the table or at least is looked at very heavily. If the Bills win or play competitively, likely is given a soft go.
  14. Let's see...take over a team that was on a 17 year playoff drought...hire 2 people that have the highest winning percentage in Bills history... Suffice to say they aren't going anywhere anytime soon. I wouldn't spend too much time thinking about it. Far easier for the team to go back to 7-9 with new staff making changes then doing better.
  15. Being very good and consistent at catching 10-12 yard passes for many years isn't enough for me to believe someone should be in the HOF. When did a team ever game plan to stop Art Monk? The answer is never.
  16. Is he related to ex Chiefs RB Christian Okoye? Nigerian Nightmare Part II?
  17. Head and Shoulders certainly took advantage of it...
  18. Anything is better than Delaware North. Their food service was terrible and likely are far more complacent her because it's a local company than they are in other places.
  19. Good luck. I doubt you'll have much with how popular and good the team is now.
  20. Until people start throwing curve balls and sliders instead of 80 mph down the middle "fastballs"
  21. Didn't he make Kelly the highest paid player in the NFL when he signed here? EDIT: He did...actually the highest paid player in NFL history which at the time was a 5 year $7.5 million dollar contract. My how times have changed. If I recall, Polian didn't want to do it and Ralph told him that he had to or else he wouldn't have a team here anymore and he'd have to pack up and leave if they lost Kelly. https://buffalonews.com/online/bn-blitz-on-this-day-looking-back-at-the-jim-kelly-signing/article_354027ce-ffcf-11eb-b693-d3c066b5850f.html#:~:text=Thirty-five years ago today,' new million-dollar arm.
  22. That line and also Shanahan's rushing scheme...similar to the 49ers rushing scheme.
  23. To me Art Monk was basically a possession receiver. A very good one that caught a lot of 10-12 yard passes and was very consistent over a lot of years. He belongs in the hall of very good, maybe even very very good, but not great. Not a receiver you ever thought to yourself "Oh my God, we have to stop him or he is going to destroy us" the same way you did Rice or Moss or Sterling Sharpe or even Andre Reed. His career was too short to really qualify in my eyes. Part of being great is also the ability to maintain it over a longer period of time. Injuries or not, the NFL has plenty of players who were great for a few years period and then faded into obscurity. The assumption was made that wouldn't have happened to him, but how do we know that? And if you want to put someone who has their career cut short by injury in it would be Sterling Sharpe all day and twice on Sunday over Davis.
  24. Playing off the other thread asking who you thought should be in the HOF but isn't, this is the reverse. Who is in the HOF that you don't believe belongs? I'll start with Art Monk and Terrell Davis.
  25. The cap is mostly fake, they will be able to do what they need to do.
