I hate to bash on Lee Evans because he is a good teammate and a good receiver, but it has become painfully obvious that he is not a number 1 receiver. My new nickname for him is "the Magician", because he has been doing a great disappearing act every gameday since the second half of last season. I'm not going to bash his contract either, because I understand you have to overpay sometimes to keep from creating a big hole on your team.
Luckily for the Bills, he will be a number 2 receiver this season, and hopefully he can be Peerless Price to T.O.'s Eric Moulds circa 10 years ago, and put up some good numbers in a position in which he surely will be much more comfortable.(Obviously, I'm assuming T.O.'s return will keep the offense from being as horrid as it has been the last 2 weeks.)
Unfortunately, the Bills will be in a tough spot if Owens leaves after this year, because top-line receiver help will have to be a high priority next offseason....and number 1 receivers are not easy to come by--just ask Lee Evans.
