  1. The Bills were pretty lucky to get a WR of this caliber at #148...I'm not sure why he fell other than the inability for teams to pinpoint how they will use him. But I also think that's what makes him a real cool prospect. Throughout the process this year I looked at SO many WR's. Like too many...I felt this was the Bills second greatest need...And I don't know if it's just the #2 or what, but Shakir reminds me of Robert Woods. The first play I saw I thought of Woods. Shakir is a little shorter (about a half an inch), but faster than Woods, and he just reminds me of that kind of tool...He's a competitor, and he is fast...He and Cook are going to bring some nice needed speed...This Offense is going to be insane. Though I don't think he's the exact fit to replace Smoke/Sanders as an outside guy, I do think he can play a bit out there...Eventually though he'll be a very cool slot weapon... Real good pick...Process guy...Very good...
  2. That was one of the most enjoyable things I've ever watched in my entire life... He said the quiet part out loud though did he not? I mean...We all think it...But he said it!...On National TV...Day 2 Draft coverage...
  3. That's exactly what this is...A bit smaller guy than would be expected. But he's an 8.88 RAS only being pulled down by height/weight/length... A team Captain who was MVP of his last game with 20 TT's!...He's Drafted to be the Bills 3rd LB...We'll see...
  4. I think I mocked Cook to the Bills in more than 75% of the mocks I did this Draft season. Granted it was in the 3rd Round, I figured they may trade up to the mid 3rd to secure him, but the way the WR's flew in this Draft I understand taking him here... I absolutely LOVE Cook for this team...I just love the fit. He's arguably the best pass catching RB in this Draft with a twist...He can beat Defenses deep...4.42 speed, he's played in big games...and it may not be a big deal, but the NFL is a family business for him. This is a luxury pick...it's a specific chess piece...But I don't think there is a single NFL Defense that is happy about the Bills adding James Cook to this Offense...Not one...
  5. I don't disagree...But the way they flew off the board last night it may take 57 to get Austin. I'm not saying they should. I'm just saying...
  6. I'd like to see them come out of the 2nd and 3rd with a WR and a RB...I think at WR you're going to have to come up a little if you really want an early impact guy to fill the snaps left by Sanders that Gabe does not absorb...The name to watch is Calvin Austin IMO...I think Pickens, Moore, and Watson will get snatched up quick... I don't know if this is a sneaky thing or not...But I would not be surprised to see the Bills sit and take Spiller at 57...They obviously like him, and the slow 40 is going to push him down. I'm not a huge fan of that. But I think it's very possible. I don't expect Breece to make it to 57...If so, I think he's the pick there.
  7. Thank you Doc...
  8. It's cliché as a Bills fan now but...I'm going to go ahead and trust McBeane on this...They needed a CB, and I think McD especially knows what DB's fit in their system. His record is pretty good here... Elam has traits and pedigree...It's a big need area. I think it's fine. My guess would be that we could have had him at #25. But that's a guess...So...GO BILLS...
  9. Grats! It's a beautiful thing. All I remember about starting...it was sometime in the mid-late 90's...my buddy had a computer and I searched Buffalo Bills and somehow found this site...I used to go to his house just to get on and post. I finally bought my own comp...
  10. My guess is it will be Gordon...My hope is it will be Wilson, Williams, or Olave...
  11. I really love JP21...But to me this is kind of...Whatever...He's got a year left. He's not going to hold out...And if he does, his loss...This team is winning a SB with or without JP21...And he owes it to himself to be a BIG part of that... And I say that with all due respect because I really like the player. I'm a big fan. But there's no way the Bills are going to make all these guys happy. Poyer is in his 30's now, his current 2022 cap hit is 6th overall on the roster. If they ride 2022 out, JP will have earned 34.7 million over 6 years in Buffalo. I think that's fair...So...We'll see...
  12. Penning?...For Buffalo? Really?... OK... From the last group I prefer 1. Dax Hill 2. Kyler Gordon 3. Jahan Dotson I like Watson and Pickens for Buffalo better than Penning...We Drafted 2 OT's last year. They both contributed as Rookies, and the Bills as an organization HAVE to assume they will continue to improve. That's why they drafted 2 of them...Draft and develop...That means the RT and 3rd OT spots are all but locked up. And I realize there are questions, especially with Doyle...But that kid is a top tier traits athlete (15th best OT RAS since they have been recording the stat) who was drafted for upside. He's had a full year...He has a role now. Let's see...Beane said it about CB last year. (Basically) He's not going to Draft a guy in the 1st that is not likely to play as a Rookie. Penning would have almost no chance to play much as a Rookie. Is he going to move inside and challenge Bates at OG?...I don't think he played OG at all in College...I'm not sure that's smart roster management after re-signing Bates, and I'm not sure it's a viable projection....Anyway...Carry on...
  13. I've been saying... Pickens is a 1st Round caliber talent easily without the knee...And the thing is he's already come back from the knee...Played...Played well...And ran 4.47 at the Combine less than a year removed from the injury...In this Draft...With the all these incredible athletes at WR...Pickens has the 10th highest RAS coming off knee surgery! And he can flat out play the position. He may not be a slot. But so what? Pickens is going to make huge plays in this Bills Offense...He may not be a lock in every situation...But in Buffalo? Oh my... One thing about Pickens...Joe Marino mentioned this...He may not have the "football character" McD looks for. Watch the end of his "Ultimate Highlight" vid on YouTube...I mean...It is what it is...But this organization seems to care about that sort of stuff...And I'm not saying that's a bad thing...I have seen a recent interview with Pickens and I did not pick up on anything bad whatsoever...But I don't know...
  14. It would have to be the injuries...And they would have to be BIG concerns...Because otherwise that dude is a no-brainer 1st round prospect...
  15. Right...If the Bills go DB in the 1st it will be for a player they project to outside CB opposite Tre...And I think Dax is fine there...I have zero problems with Dax Hill at #25...
  16. What?...Anyway...Have a good one...
  17. A stud is a stud...Pickens is an alpha...Since he was a freshman there are plenty of times he was the best player on the field...In the SEC against elite competition. He came back early from a torn ACL and was making big plays vs very good teams in big games...He's about prototype size (he could use a few more lbs)...He's a physical specimen...He's not a slot, but otherwise he can do it all...His tape is filled with highlight reel catches...On this Bills Offense...With Diggs, Davis, Knox, etc...Pickens will be a PROBLEM for opposing Defenses...Any of these receivers coming out this year will likely reach their best potential in Buffalo. There's only one #17... I get that folks are still nervous about the knee...The 4.47 at the Combine was just OK...But I think he'll continue to improve top speed as he is distanced from the injury...Pickens will be hit and miss depending on his landing spot... Folks here gave me a million reasons why DK Metcalf was not going to be an elite NFL WR a few years ago...It was cone drills this...Injury history that...Watch the player play the game...Pickens has special traits...I project with a higher emphasis on upside...it's a little risky...But Pickens has serious upside... Kyle Crabbs -
  18. I really like Watson as an upside prospect...Especially with this team...I think it's a fair bet he'll have the best opportunity to reach his potential in Buffalo... That being said, to even get to the Watson question in the 1st, I think the following have to be gone at CB and WR...CB's Booth, Gardner, and Stingley...WR's Williams, Olave, and Wilson... Then it's down to Watson or CB's McDuffie and Elam, WR's Dotson and Burks...In that situation I would probably lean towards Watson...But I'm higher on him than most (again I think Buffalo is his dream landing spot). But it's a gamble...I think he's more of a 2nd round guy if you're being safe...I also think George Pickens is every bit the prospect as any of the five 2nd tier players, including Watson, I just mentioned.
  19. I don't see the logic in trading future premium picks that will likely be cheap labor starters, or prime back-ups, when you are clearly going to be up against the cap...
  20. Me too...I just figure...The Bills have been very transparent about wanting a receiving threat out of the backfield. And Cook is the best one in this Draft in that area. Plus he may still be available in the 3rd..
  21. #1 - Christian Watson #2 - James Cook
  22. Oh it's tough...I have several this year... But if I had to pick one...Christian Watson...That size/speed/RAS...
  23. This Bills team should be favored on most Sundays...I honestly think it's good enough to supersede the schedule...Which is tough...But I look at it this way...Those tough teams are more worried they have to play the Bills than the other way around...This team absolutely should be that good...
