I know he's a Sr...I said he skipped the Sr Bowl in my post... My point was Jr QB's don't get to play in the Sr Bowl...And if they have the ability, they test well, and their workouts are satisfactory, it does not hurt them at all...

Why? There has never been a Jr QB that has played the Sr Bowl...They rely only on the Combine and Private workouts...And plenty of them have gone REAL high in the Draft...Skipping the Sr. Bowl will mean nothing if Smith impresses in his workouts...Nothing...

Seriously? You call those weak efforts addressing the QB Position? How is it that plenty of people around here were well aware of the fact that Fitz would never be good enough, yet The Bills and Good ol' scout were blind to his obvious faults? The same basic faults he's had since day #1 in the NFL...You have to start there, because the weak-ass way The Bills went about addressing the QB position was mainly due to the fact that they greatly over-valued Fitz from the get-go...Sure the guy had some good games...But he was never going to be good enough...I just can't stress enough how important that evaluation was because to me, a complete amateur scout, it seemed ultra-apparent...Then they go two more Drafts without taking a single QB...Not one...They passed on not only Kaepernick, but Wilson, Dalton, Foles, Cousins, and so on... Thiggy, Levi, VY, and Tavaris Jackson??? That's addressing nothing...And to make matters worse these guys were brought into to compete with a QB that is bottom-half of the NFL...If that... Really?

I think small hands on a QB, when you play your Home games in Buffalo NY, is a definite detriment...If that measurement is correct (8-5/8") Wilson's hands are WAY small...Keep in mind Russell Wilson has size 10.25 hands at 5-11...That's the reason he's able to spin it the way he does... I know it sounds crazy, but there's no way I would Draft Wilson to Buffalo with hands that small...No way...

I just don't think the guy has what it takes upstairs to be any good in the NFL...He lacks drive and determination...I mean...If this news had come out and he was down to 250, I might be swayed a bit...But 308? seriously? Are we sure that's not a typo? That's ridiculous even for a guy like Russell who has a history of battling weight...308? And we're supposed to believe he's ready to come back and contribute? At 308?

I'm pretty sure his positional ratings have not been updated in a while...He still has Jr's in there that are staying in school... His comment on Nassib is very current though...

I don't like Fitz... But I agree...He lost all credibility with that comment alone...There is no fixing Fitz...Gailey came as close to doing it as any Coach ever will...Ever...

I think EJ will be over-drafted a bit due to his overall athletic ability as a QB...I doubt very much that he'll get out of the 2nd Round...We'll see...Like I wrote in another thread, the kid could be the ultimate tease...But there is no denying his raw ability...And it's almost amazing that you see so many reports talk about the inconsistency of a QB who completed 67% of his passes over a two year span...But inconsistency is definitely the word I see used most to describe Manuel's negatives...We'll see if an NFL team can coach that out of him...

Agreed...I would like to invite the teams that Draft from 1-7 to please consider taking another QB ahead of Geno...Please, please, please... Thank you...

Totally agree... I'd love to get Smith somehow...But if not I'm going to be OK with a lot of these kids, Nassib included...It's all about how The Bills utilize them and Coach them up... We need a QB...In fact, we need two...Period, end of story...

I'm not sure that's true...We'll see...I've never thought Te'o was a top 10 prospect...Top 20? Maybe...1st Round? Probably...But IMHO not top 10...

I would be fine with The Bills taking Te'o... In the 2nd Round... Otherwise...Not so much...

So much about the success (or failure) of any QB coming in to the NFL depends on the situation they land in...I think Smith gives any Offensive Coach a skill set that could be turned into great things...But I also think he's not the type of QB, like Luck for example, that would be good no matter where he goes...It's going to take a good marriage for sure... I'll go out on a limb on 2 things...Lacey will be a 1st Round Pick...And Lacey will not be drafted by The Buffalo Bills...

So true... His numbers over a three year span are staggering...He completed 67.5% of 1416 passes over 3 years as a starter (71.2% completions as a Sr)...In those 3 years he threw 97 TD's to only 20 INT's...WVU was 26-13 with Smith starting from 2010-2012...I think it should also be pointed out that 3 out of the 6 losses in 2012 came with WVU scoring an average of 40 points!!!...That 7-6 record could have been 10-3 easily if the Mountaineers could play ANY Defense... While I fully admit Geno would have gone behind Luck and RGIII, he certainly is coming into the NFL with a higher grade than Tannehill who went 8th overall...Geno Smith is CLEARLY the best QB prospect in this Draft...If he falls to the Bills at #8 I'll be dancing in the streets...

I don't care how bright, driven, and likable Brandon is...And I do like him...I don't even care that he says things that make me feel warm and fuzzy about being a Bills fan...The truth is anyone that stands in front of a crowd of Bills fans and media, with a straight face, and claims that Buddy Nix is one of the top talent evaluators in the game is going to be second guessed by me and a ton of other Bills fans...Our football side is in good hands? What? Come on Russ you had me at hello, and lost me again in the span of 5-10 minutes...

One note on Anderson's comments... That seems to be the prevailing opinion at OBD...And most of the blame came down on Chan...And that's fine...IF they are right...And, IMHO, that's a BIG if...I was not thrilled with Chan either, but I feel Buddy was equally to blame as the GM and the guy making all the football decisions. Including the one main decision to basically ignore the QB position for 3 years, and stubbornly go with Fitz thinking he could some how magically turn into a good, consistent, NFL QB...I'm not of the opinion that the talent on this team is so great that we were merely coached into a bad season...I think it's a lot deeper than that...Only 4 of the 10 losses were by a TD or less...Only 2 of the 10 by a FG or less...The Bills lost 6 Games by a combined 145 points!!! That's and AVERAGE of 24 points a game!!! And this is all Coaching? No way... We'll see this coming year...Because the way The Bills are talking from Brandon down, this team has a Playoff caliber roster already...And I just don't see it...Not yet at least...Do they have talent? Yes, some...Do they need more talent? Yes, just about everywhere on the Roster, and especially at QB...

Manuel is real intriguing...I think for some reason every time I watched him over the past 2 years it was not a great game for EJ...Or I was not paying attention... When you look at his final two seasons it's hard to ignore some things...1st and foremost the fact that Manuel completed almost 67% of his last 698 attempts...In that span he threw 41 TD's to 18 INT's...He was 21-5 as a starter...IMHO accuracy is the #1 thing you look for in a College QB...And that's pretty big for a kid like Manuel, because he's already a pretty big kid...And he can sling it...I don't think Manuel is the type of athlete Newton, or Kaepernick are...But he is athletic enough to hurt NFL Defenses with his feet... EJ Manuel scares me a bit because he's got tease written all over him...But if The Bills decided to Draft him, I would be all for it...I'd have to trust that Marrone and Hackett have a good plan for him...He's got potential no question about it...I think Manuel is the type of prospect that IF he gets Drafted in to the right situation, he could be pretty good...
