  1. I'm not sure? The same? Can we get a poll going on this?...
  2. He's always been a better RT than a LT...But he's going to demand HUGE LT cash nonetheless...
  3. You're welcome... I watched almost all the Panthers games and you're 100% right...Kiko and Luke are VERY similar in that way...I think next year Kiko will further improve and he'll get in easy...
  4. Coach...Do you believe that Jairus Byrd is the best Free Safety in football?
  5. Kiko would replace all of them...At once...on both sides...And never break a sweat...
  6. Kiko got robbed...Hope he takes it out on the Patsie's on Sunday...
  7. EJ becomes a Pro-Bowl caliber QB...That's the quickest way to the Playoffs for this team as it is now... That being said I would try to surround him with as many good players as possible at WR, TE, and on the O-Line...Then pray he comes around...At the very least the Bills would have a good amount of talent for the next QB if EJ is not the long-term answer...
  8. I agree that statement in itself is pretty dumb... I do think the Bills are in a tough situation though all things considered...Especially if EJ does not play Sunday...Tough to gauge his progress when he's absent this much...
  9. I have a close friend who is a die-hard Patsies fan...He's always been kind of a douche about it too...Each year we gather for the SB, and watching him squirm and cry during, and after, those 2 losses was absolutely the best...We had so much fun at his expense my jaw was sore from laughing on Monday...While I don't want to see the Patsies go to the SB, thinking about watching my friend suffer another loss almost makes it worthwhile for me to pull for the Pats...But I don't want to chance it...Because if they win I'm in for a terrible year from that idiot...
  10. No offense...But do you watch the games or just read the stat sheet?... There is no possible way that any Bills fan paying any attention to what is actually going on (on the field) could not have come away impressed by Carrington in 2012...And this year, Pettine put him in the line-up as a starting DE from day #1, and the current coaching staff did nothing but rave about Carrington... He was a a little slow to develop early on in his career...Coming out of Arkansas St as a 3rd Round pick, and having 2 different Defensive Coordinators in his first three years in the NFL did not help his progress...And both of those DC's were absolutely terrible...The first one (Edwards) tried to make him an OLB in the 3-4 which is obviously not his natural position, and forced him to try to keep a weight that was far less than his body-type...I think all things considered it's understandable Carrington took a bit of time...But Alex came on big time in 2012 and was clearly one of the Bills best players on Defense that year...There were games where he was in the backfield constantly...Don't know how you missed that...He's a very solid D-Lineman, and if he comes back healthy he will be entering the prime of his career...You can't judge the kid by his early years...This organization was a complete cluster-you-know-what under Edwards and Wanny on D...Still...Once Carrington became a full time D-lineman, and filled in, he blossomed big-time...
  11. Exactly...It's was the chunk plays that killed them vs the run this year...Overall they were actually pretty solid...Part of that is Pettine's scheme which we all know is high risk/high reward at times...And the fact that this is the 1st year in the system...The Bills, on paper at least, have very decent talent on Defense...If they stay healthy, with another year under Pettine, the hope will be they eliminate the big mistakes...Doing that alone will make them a top 5 Defense in the NFL...Because they are going to get to the QB with that front and Pettine's coaching...I think at this point that is a given...
  12. I lived there for 20 years... Moving back in April too...Not because I really want to...But because of business/family...I was never a Panthers Fan while I was there...Their 1st Draft pick after I left was Cam, and I REALLY like Cam...He's been my FF QB for 3 years now and he's treated me pretty well...So now I pull for them as my second team...I also think they have the best home uniforms in the NFL...I really do...That black and blue is awesome...
  13. I think...Had he stayed healthy...Alex might have played his way into a big enough deal to assure he priced himself out of Buffalo...But now that's completely up in the air...I definitely like Carrington...Maybe a bit more than others around here...I think had he played all year, once he got used to this new Defense, he would have been a really big piece down the stretch...And still can be if he comes back...I'm thinking the best thing for him may be to take a one year deal with the Bills if he does not get an outrageous offer elsewhere...If Carrington comes back I think the Bills are 100% set at D-Line, and they can cross that off the needs list...I'm really hoping he comes back to Buffalo and stays healthy next year...Can't have enough athletes on that D-Line...And Carrington at 100% is a solid player who can make plays in the backfield from time to time...That being said I'm quite sure the extension to Branch was an insurance policy in case Carrington moves on...
  14. True... I'm not sure, outside of some really ill-placed (because after all he is just a Rookie) EJ hating, why folks think this Offense was somehow worse than it was in 2012...I'm not saying it was better either...Definitely is was much, much younger in certain areas, QB most notably... I'm as skeptical as they come with this team...But let's wait and see how these kids progress in 2014 before we go and make any ridiculous assumptions about how things really are on Offense...
  15. While I don't necessarily disagree...at the end of the day, until it turns into more wins than losses, it really matters not...And Bills Nation has had plenty of "hope" periods over these past 14 seasons only to see the team underachieve for a million different reasons... When they break this Playoffs drought the Bills will be a better team...Until then, they're not, because the results that matter are wins...Nothing else matters at all...And the thought of being serious contenders next year is just another "hope..." Maybe this time it will be accurate...Maybe...But I'm not holding my breath...
  16. I think, though Miami is certainly not the best test, it's games like today's that will have the Bills looking on the Offensive side early in the Draft next year...While the Defense is far from perfect, it's a bit ahead of the Offense and relatively young...The Bills, IMHO, need to round out this roster by adding play-makers on the Offensive side, and better blockers to spring those play-makers... There is plenty to like about a player like Mack (though I think the Bills have played themselves out of position to Draft him anyway)...But I've been of the mind for a while now that this coming Draft will be Offense heavy...My early expectation is for the Bills to take an OT, TE, and WR with their first three picks...Not necessarily in that order...But we'll see how, if any, Free Agency changes that...
  17. Gilmore bailed out by the vet...
  18. Is CJ ever going to break one again? Goodness...
  19. CJ??? What are you thinking?
  20. No problems with that whatsoever...
  21. Personally I would like to see the Bills get a big WR, TE, and O-Lineman with the 1st three picks in order...Preferably with another trade down in the 1st to grab an extra 2nd or 3rd...While I agree with most that there are needs on Defense, I think the needs on Offense far outweigh those Defensive needs...I think we have more talent on Defense now, and maybe we can pick up a piece or two in order to patch up those Defensive needs in Free Agency...But in the Draft I would go Offense heavy if possible... Oh...And we need to re-sign Byrd...Not at any cost mind you, but losing him would open a big hole...
  22. Evans is going to be a bit overdrafted due to his size and his ability to use that size...He's not a speed guy...But I do like his overall potential a lot...I think he would fit in nicely with this group of WR's the Bills have...He would fill and immediate need...The Bills have nothing even remotely resembling Evans...Few NFL teams do...But I think if you're going to take him and expect him to be AJ Green, or Megatron, you're going to end up being a bit disappointed...If you're looking for a guy who will have a different-type impact...like that of say...a WR version of Jimmy Graham...I think Evans is your man... The Bills need all the help on Offense they can get...So I would be thrilled with Evans coming to Buffalo...He will cause match-up nightmares for Defenses in the NFL...He's super-athletic considering his size, and he'll go up and get it...Just don't expect him to be as elite as he was in College as an outside WR...Because I think his game will change/adjust in the NFL...I still think he's going to be very good...
  23. No offense...But to be perfectly honest...and know upfront that I really like Russell Wilson dating back to his Freshman year at NC St...But using Wilson as an example for any size argument is not really a good rebuttal...As soon as you get past the height thing the entire argument falls apart... Wilson is, and has always been, one of a kind...He's super smart, has incredible natural instincts, he's a great leader, a great athlete, great person...etc., etc...There is only one Russell Wilson...And in the vast majority of other cases in the NFL size does matter...That's why Wilson, with a list of gifts and intangibles a mile long, was only a 3rd round pick...Odds were, even with his incredible make-up, he would struggle due to his size...That was just the odds though, and he's proven everyone wrong...But the next time you'll see a QB prospect like Wilson have this kind of success at 5-10 5/8...well...The last one before him was Flutie (Flutie measured 5-9 3/4...And I'm not counting Drew Brees who was 6-0 2/8 or Michael Vick who measured exactly 6 feet)...And Wilson is WAY better than Flutie was...So it's going to be a while... Anyway...Players like Wilson are one in a million...And not a solid foundation for an argument favoring taking a smaller player...
  24. We'll see...There certainly will be a bigger market for him than there was at the beginning of this season...But I doubt much more...He can change that a bit with a big game vs. Miami...I'm cautiously open to him becoming the Bills long-term back-up if he continues to improve...There are things I like...But he's got to protect the ball better...
