Rob Johnson? Really? Exactly... -
Colts Elevate Da'Rick Rogers to the Active Roster
KOKBILLS replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's an undrafted Rookie who signed late with the Colts and was only active for 5 games this season... This argument has never been about Rogers this season...Though I think it's crystal clear he could have a bigger impact than Chris Hogan...This argument is about the future and the type of player Rogers could turn in to as a UDFA who the Bills smartly picked up, then stupidly discarded prematurely... -

Rogers was never going to make this team because of Marrone...Period, end of story... Even if he did make it...which, once again, there was no way Marrone was going to keep him...But even if he did, Rogers would have made little difference last year because Marrone never would have played him knowing (in Marrone's words) he had SO much more proven production and talent at WR already on the roster... Marrone is not the kind of Coach with the patience necessary to develop a kid like Rogers...Pagano is...That's really all there is to it... -

Everyone knows...He smoked pot and got caught...Rogers admitted to three positive tests... There were also a few other incidents...But basically nothing after he got booted from Tennessee...In general Rogers made a bunch of mistakes before he was 20 years old... So did Randy Moss... So... -
Would the Bills trade up to get Watkins?
KOKBILLS replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The chances of Watkins making it to #9 are deteriorating rapidly... Watkins tweeted this past June that he ran a 4.27 on grass...He runs anything under a 4.4 at Indy and he's going top 8...I think you can take that to the bank...He's also said to have a 37" vertical... -

That Mock is ESPN/NFL Network's wet dream...5 QB's in the top 8 picks? The networks would just love it... -
Bills need to poop or get off the pot.

My pre-combine draft thoughts, how about yours
KOKBILLS replied to simpleman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Noted...And believe me I'm picking up on the sarcasm... Nonetheless I tend to concentrate more on what the Bills will do rather than what I think they should do. Because at the end of the day what any of us fans think they should do is really of no consequence...They're going to do what they're going to do... I think Chris Brown's comments on WGR the other morning were right in line with what I fully expect the Bills to do...He said the 2013 Draft was about getting the QB of the future, and the 2014 Draft is going to be about surrounding that QB with as much talent as they can to make him successful...Brown said he has personally overhead Whaley during games comment on the need to have a physical mismatch as a receiver...And I think there is going to be a couple guys available early in this Draft that fit that need pretty well...I think Whaley is envisioning a player like Mike Evans, Eric Ebron (TE), or Kelvin Benjamin (if he declares) to fill out the receiving corps...I also think the Bills will look to add one key player along the O-Line fairly early... That does not mean they won't address the needs on Defense...But I would expect them to make a move like the one they did with Lawson last year and bring in another Vet to plug in rather than spending a high Draft pick on an LB...Unless of course they can work a trade down again to grab an extra pick... The Bills used a 4th and a 5th Round pick last year on 2 Safeties...They're not going to Draft one high even if they do lose Byrd...They will expect one of those two to start in place of Byrd if he's gone, then they will likely Draft another in the mid rounds... -

Exactly...I think this Draft is set up pretty well for the Bills needs... -

I'll go ahead and predict, even at this super early stage, that the Bills will take either WR Mike Evans or TE Eric Ebron at #9...Assuming of course they have good workouts, interviews, etc... I'm also assuming Watkins will be gone by #9 and that the Bills can get Benjamin in a trade down if they wish... I think one of those two is coming to Buffalo if they stay at #9 though...Probably Evans... -
Well...That kind of thing used to be funny... Until Russell Wilson came along...And normally I don't like to make comparisons to Wilson because he is basically one of a kind...But as someone who watched Wilson from his Frosh year at NC St I can say that he is the QB Manziel reminds me of most...And it's not their height...It's the way they play the position...Remember one key thing about Russell Wilson is that he has huge hands for a guy his size...Here's what A&M's former OC Kliff Kingsbury said about Manziel...""The ball just jumps out of his hand...His hand is so big it just engulfs yours. It really helps that he can wrap his hand all the way around the ball. … There's nothing 'little' about him. He's put together..."

Jets have no qualms about drafting another QB...

So, somewhere between a 2nd round flameout and a #4 overall 5-time Pro Bowler? Safe to say you'll be right about that!!! -
Jets have no qualms about drafting another QB...
KOKBILLS replied to Mr. WEO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed... I would not write EJ off whatsoever...But I do think, especially in this coming Draft, there may be a QB the Bills like so much they do whatever it takes to get him...Which may mean using a 1st Round Pick...And to be honest I'm OK with that...Because even though it's SO early in the process, I have my personal favorite, and if I was the Bills GM I would do what I had to in order to get the kid... The good news is, with my guy the Bills could likely trade down a bit, grab an extra 2nd round pick, and still get him...Maybe even with their high 2nd... My Guy is McCarron...I'm a Michigan fan...I saw almost every game Tom Brady played in College...I absolutely LOVED Brady at Michigan...And even though I knew Brady would not be a high Draft pick, I could never understand why he slid so much...That was before all this spread and read option became popular...It was still a league where you looked for a good drop-back QB...I figured Brady was no worse than a 3rd round pick...To me he was a gamer...He never had the best arm, and everyone knows he was never the best athlete...But he was always the best QB...And he continued to get better...McCarron reminds me of Brady...I was reading the other day that MCCarron was concerned about his 3rd Down efficiency this year through 4 games so he worked hard to improve in that category...He then went out and completed 76.5% of his 3rd down passes, and converted over 65% of those 3rd downs in the next 4 games...During that time McCarron threw 99 passes without throwing an INT... Now...I realize McCarron had some major advantages...And by no means am I saying he does not have work to do...But I think the kid is eventually going to work his way into being one of the best...I really do...He'll have to land in a good situation...But if he does I think he's going to be better than EJ for sure...And I like EJ... So...I'll more than understand if the Bills fall head over heels for another QB and Draft one high...And if they do like one well enough they should go ahead and Draft him...QB is still King... -
Mosley is better... This is a good read on what some Scouts think about Mosley... http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000284985/article/ask-5-what-nfl-player-does-cj-mosley-remind-you-of

9 In 1 Season How Much Different Could It Be ??

You can say that again... The Bills were going nowhere with Fitz...Period... Now...Maybe they're going nowhere without him...But the two things are mutually exclusive... -
Johnny Football vs. Duke (Possible draftees)

You don't really think any of those guys are in Manziel's league do you? Without predicting anything about Manziel's NFL career, and I do understand he has his critics who are justified, it's very clear he's a MUCH better Pro prospect than any of the QB's you listed there... -
What batch of kool-aid will Russ whip up next?
KOKBILLS replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Brandon has already painted himself into a tough corner concerning the Toronto game...His statement, on multiple occasions now, is crystal clear..."Nothing comes before winning..." Well that would seemingly end the Toronto experiment immediately...Because Home Teams win in the NFL...19 teams had winning records at Home this year...Only 8 teams had losing records...It is absolutely obvious the Bills lose Home Field advantage in Toronto...When a team that plays their Home Games 900 miles south can put as many fans in the seats as the Bills can it's glaringly obvious the Bills give up Home Field advantage in this ridiculous experiment...Not to mention the most obvious stat of all...The Bills are now 1-5 in Toronto... So if nothing comes before winning Russ HAS to pull the plug on Toronto...He really has no choice...If he doesn't...then winning is not the most important thing... -
Bills Offseason Needs per WGR's Joe B.
KOKBILLS replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I looked to me like Joe B was saying one each in the 1st and 2nd...Whatever you don't get in the 1st take in the 2nd...But maybe I'm reading it wrong... -
I think a tag and trade is the most likely possibility here...Though I do wonder what this season truly did for Byrd's market value...While instinctively he is still clearly one of the best Free Safeties in the NFL, it looked to me that...at least some of the time...the PF was slowing Byrd down...To me he does not look like he's moving as well as he used to, especially in a straight line...And I think that's going to show up on tape...It may be best for the Bills to tag him, put their best offer on the table, and then allow Parker to shop around for a team willing to trade...My guess is Parker will find out quickly that teams are unwilling to make Byrd the highest paid FS in the league...And maybe the Bills offer will be the best one regardless...We'll see...But this thing is FAR from decided that's for sure...

I agree Kirby...And though I'm certainly not a Whitner fan I do agree with those who have pointed out time and time again it was not Whitner's fault he got Drafted so high... And actually Mike Williams career was quite a bit better than Maybin's...That's how bad Maybin was...

No offense PTR...But there is literally nothing I miss about Fitz... Nothing... Then again I never really liked him so...

That's a matter of opinion... Happy New Year!!!

Johnny Football vs. Duke (Possible draftees)
KOKBILLS replied to BringBackFergy's topic in College Football
Seeing as though I fully believe the Bills will pass on him if he does fall to #9...I REALLY hope you're right...The last thing this team needs is another coulda, woulda, or shoulda concerning the QB position... -
