  1. Especially this kid... He's been anointed...He's VERY confident...And if you're going to Draft him, be ready for Tebow-like attention...He's a celebrity...He will put tremendous pressure on the starter if he's the back-up...But that's not necessarily a bad thing...
  2. I would say the chances of the Bills Drafting any QB, Manziel included are slim and none...And Slim has left town... That being said I would not be unhappy if they did Draft him...I just don't think there is a chance in hell it's going to happen... And I still like EJ...It's just that...The way this league is now I would not blame any team for trying to strike gold at the QB position...Even if it's in consecutive years...QB is King...
  3. IMHO He's been impressive for two years...I know we had a conversation here after his Bowl game last year and I was VERY impressed with his accuracy in that game...And that was no where near one of his better games last season...I think this year was more of the same with Johnny Football...Personally I think the biggest issue with him in the NFL will be reigning him in a bit concerning when he takes off to run...He's not a big kid and NFL Defenders can be absolute monsters...If I was the team that Drafted him I would install an Offense similar to Seattle's because all along I've felt that the QB Manziel reminds me of most is Russell Wilson... I've always liked Manziel's chances...But I think his success will depend on where he goes, and how effective that team is in finding an Offense that matches his skills, while keeping him from getting killed at the same time...
  4. I thought LaBatt was still around? Could have sworn I saw a post not too long ago... Then again I'm always wrong...
  5. But you have to wonder right? I do...I REALLY do...
  6. Well...I would not say one Pro Bowl in his 7th season is exactly setting the world on fire either... Considering the fact that the Bills were in need of help at DT in 2006, and they passed a guy that seemed to be the most obvious pick there...And that guy went on to become a 5 time (so far) All-Pro and SB Champ...It's still safe to say it was a pretty crappy pick...Whitner has proven he's a decent player when he's surrounded by incredible talent...But he'll never be a #8 overall-type talent...Of course it's not his fault he was Drafted that high...But still...
  7. Texas A&M's Defense is certainly not ready for Prime Time...
  8. I listened to the whole thing live and this was the single point I remembered most... For those wishing for Stevie's departure, for all the generalization and cloudy answers during this Presser, the Whaley answer about Stevie was probably the most specific...It does not seem like Whaley is having any anti-13 thoughts...
  9. I am as well...I like him a lot... I want Ebron or Evans in the first... I'll also point out two years ago I wanted Alshon Jeffery REAL bad...I mean REAL bad...So...I fully expect that I'll be right again...
  10. Lori and ICE... No one knew how to stir the pot better...
  11. My bloodlust is no where close to being fulfilled yet...
  12. Phil Anselmo would be awesome!!! RE-SPECT-WALK!!! Oh not that Anselmo? Never mind...
  13. Oh OK I see...
  14. I think that fact should be impossible for any Bills fan to completely ignore...But some still do...Williams is one of the best penetrating DT's in the league...One of the better pass rush DT's in the league...But he's a mixed bag vs the run...If he beats his man clean he can make a play in the backfield from time to time...But if he does not beat his man clean it's trouble...And sometimes the holes created are massive...
  15. I completely agree...The Bills would be far better suited to grab an inside thumper and move Kiko to the weak side... But be prepared for the Mack love...Not that it's the same situation because Mack is clearly a very good NFL prospect...But I fully expect the Mack love to squash the level of Nassib love we saw from some last off season...
  16. I tend to agree with your take...I think this mentality of Marrone's was the basis for cutting Da'Rick Rogers as well...It seems to me that Marrrone has a vision, but the vision is his way, or the highway...And I really don't think that works all that well for a first year HC coming from College...Of course it works better for Belichick...He's got multiple rings dating back to his Coordinator days...Marrone has diddly-squat...So he's taking a heck of a chance by hard-lining instead of trying to develop ways to get through to these guys on an individual basis...Marrone, at least to me, seems like the kind of guy who will be the first to tell you how hard he works, but for all that hard work he's not going to allow it to come out of his comfort zone...Look at the comments he made after he cut Rogers...They were ridiculous...He kept talking about keeping players who have produced over a long period of time while he was actually only keeping ONE WR that had ANY production in the NFL to speak of... I'm going to give Marrone the benefit of the doubt for now...But as a Bills fans I think we should all be aware that there is plenty to be concerned with about this guy...It's not enough to simply be the guy who's heart bleeds for Buffalo Bills football...It's a good start don't get me wrong...But Head Coaching in the NFL takes a LOT more than that...And I'm uncertain Marrone has the real people skills it takes to get uncomfortable a little in order to get more from a player down the road...We'll see I guess...
  17. Agreed...I think based on the way this year turned out Marrone is pretty lucky he went to Buffalo...Because if anything this year I think you could point directly at coaching for the difference in a least a few games...Especially on Offense and ST's...And even more especially because the CEO, ex GM, new GM, and the HC himself literally raved about the talent already on the team this past off season...
  18. I think generally the potential of a multi-million dollar contract is motivation enough for most of these kids when they have the kind of raw abilities Dareus has...The real test is how they do after they get those millions... I think there is way, way, way more to the Dareus story dating back to the first day he showed up in Buffalo that many of us here simply are not privy to...He was 318 lbs at his Combine and showed up at his first Training Camp at over 340...He immediately used the story that he needed to beef up to play the nose...Or something like that...Just look at his pictures from Bama to now and it's crystal clear he's much heavier...Though I do think they got him to slim down a little this year...What has always been true is that Dareus is vastly gifted naturally...His raw power and quickness easily mask some of that extra weight...But what is also clear is that at around 320, the guy is nearly unmatched as far as physical capability goes...Casey Hampton went to 5 Pro Bowls at right around 325...Marcell does not need the extra weight to be effective IMHO...He needs to be at around 325 so he can dominate...I think the fact that Marcell plays as well as he does at whatever weight he's at now is actually proof of how dominant he would be if he shed the other 15 lbs or so...But maybe that's just me...
  19. Not sure how you're reading it...Maybe I'm reading it wrong... But according to the ESPN chart here...http://espn.go.com/n...osition/defense...They allowed the 8th most KR yards, and the 16th most on average, in the NFL...Also they allowed the 5th most PR yards and the 8th most on average in that category...
  20. We? Who the heck is we? I would not hire the guy to cut my grass...I never liked him...Ever...Like ever, ever... And I'm pretty certain there were plenty around here who wanted nothing to do with Frazier...Not saying no one wanted him...I'm sure there were some...But I don't remember any large groundswells or anything like that...
  21. 32nd in KO return yards, 29th in Punt return yards...15th most KO return yards allowed...8th most Punt return yards allowed... Ouch...
  22. I think it's all about natural instincts and vision with CJ...The great backs with his-type of ability (like McCoy and Charles) seems to glide through the little creases while CJ always seems to find the closest tackler...They say in the NFL the RB has to beat at least one guy to get a decent gain, and with all his natural ability CJ rarely does that...I just think he struggles when the blocking is not phenomenal...And great backs, heck even good backs like Freddie who have a better feel for it, make that 1st guy miss a lot...IMHO If CJ had McCoy's, or Jamal Charles' feel for the game and natural instincts he would have 2000 yards every season...But he's just not in their league...
  23. No Seahawks or Niners? Not once? I did the same...Ran it 12 times...Got... Colts - 3 Patsies - 2 Eagles - 2 Panthers - 1 Packers - 1 Niners - 1 Seahawks - 1 Broncos - 1 The Seahawks only went to the SB once in 12 simulations and they won that one... It was kind of cool though...
