This GB game is seriously worrying me now. Jax wins this and they'll likely get the last spot in the playoffs with only Houston and Oakland left on their schedule. GD, that Favre int was pathetic.

I'm not going to say GW did a bang up job here, but people were saying the same thing about Belichik after his stint in Cleveland. GW will get another shot at a HC job and we'll see if he learned anything the first time around. I have a hunch he'll be much better the second time around. -
winning in spite of bledsoe again, i see

We have a D and a special teams that can win us games. I'll take a no INT, no fumble day out of Bledsoe any day. We don't need spectacular, we need effective. We've been blowing teams out without exploding on offense. That's fine with me, this is a team game, not a QB game. -
As much as I'd like to believe that things will fall our way, and I do think we have an excellent shot at finishing 10-6 (with today's game being the biggest obsticle), I don't think the Bills get in, even if they win out. Jets (11-5) and Broncos (10-6) get in ahead of us. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Manning has played for 7 years...he's just past the halfway mark for that record. It will get tougher and tougher to stay in games once he gets older...and that's IF he actually plays for 13 years.

I used to think Unitas' streak was the most impressive in football, but I'm begining to think Favre's 13+ seasons without missing a game is even more impressive. I can't even fathom a guy playing the QB position not missing a game in 13 seasons. The way QBs get the sh-- kicked out of them week in, week out, this stat just boggles my mind.

I want the Steelers to lose this game

If we can't beat one of the best teams (if not the best team) in the league we don't deserve to be in the playoffs? Unfortunately it's not just a rookie QB lined up for the Steelers, it's also the best D in the league, the best Oline in the league, the best running game in the league and one of the best WR duos in the league. The bottom line is if we don't beat them we won't be in the playoffs, but not because we "don't belong"...the Bills are playing better ball than any team fighting for a wildcard right now...the reason we won't be in the playoffs is because Nate Clements can't knock down a hail mary throw on 4th and 20+ yards or because whoever is in charge of telling Mularky to challange a play didn't tell him to do so on the Henry fumble in Oakland. -

The Steelers WILL NOT rest their starters in the final game as long as they have a first round bye locked up. No coach is going to have his starters sit for 2 weeks without playing any meaningful football. If the Steelers have a 1st round bye their starters will play the entire game unless it gets out of hand one way or another. -
I'll have to go with the combo of "Cootiehog" and the Google avatar as my favorite. I died the first time I saw it.

I'd almost factor in Milloy's return as a bigger impact than McGahee's....this D has dominated and caused turnovers once Milloy was back in the fold. Having Milloy back there enables our D to take more chances and it has resulted in more turnovers. The guy is all over the field and has been causing havoc the last 6 weeks. Causing turnovers = winning. If Milloy is in the starting lineup the entire season, we win 2 of those first 4 games. Everyone was wondering why we bothered with Milloy last year...look what the guy has done for this D with time to learn the D.

Yeah, it's also the board where every news story about a heinous crime gets linked...
-
Been busy with work and haven't had much time for the board the past week. Of course I miss something good...looks like I'm going to have to do a search to find the hostilities!

Chuck D uneducated? I'd wager the guy knows more about politics and government than you'd ever care to. How about having a clue before opening your mouth? Nah, wouldn't want to do that.

Pack have gone 7-1 in their last 8 games (played lik crap??) while the Jags have lost 3 of the last 4 and 4 of the last 6...I'm not saying the Jags can't pull off the upset but I don't see what could make one think it's going to happen. The jags have fallen back to earth while the Pack (with the exception of the Philly game) have pulled out victories when they had to. Pack wins this one going away. The Jags were never that great of a team and they've finally hit a stretch where they haven't been able to pull out each and every close game.

You call those players on your list above "stars"....um, okay. All were washed up, injured, or sucked. Wiley and Washington are the two he let go. He made the right call keeping Moulds instead of Wiley and got a ample replacement for Washington with Adams.
-
Yeah, I guess all those coaches and QBs who have said that sitting a year can be a huge help don't have a "fugin clue about sports in general" either. If only they had your expertise.
-
When a team starts the year 4-4 and has to battle back to win just about all of their remaining games there are no "trap" games. No one gets overlooked when 1 loss = no playoffs.
-
Wow..... more signs that Moulds wont be back!

And talk about taking liberties. He gives the quote from Eric about "reassessing" his career in the offseason as coming after the St. Louis win (or, as the write says, "about the time"). That quote came after the Patriot game, not the St. Louis game. Pretty big difference, yet the writer makes it sound as if Moulds was bitching after a win. That article is complete trash. -
What you fail to realize is that by starting JP the coaching staff would be retarding the entire team's development. Winning is an attitude as much as anything. This team is starting to get that attitude and you want to crush it by replacing the QB? http://buffalonews.com/editorial/20041207/...?tbd1030204.asp Read that article and tell me you want the coaching staff to walk up to Takeo and the rest of the team and say, "sorry guys, we're throwing in the towel this season and using the remaing games to develop our 1st round QB". No players would ever want to play for Mularky, TD, or the Bills again. We'd be the laughing stock of the league for throwing in the towel (just like we were when Wade said we didn't have a chance a few years back). This isn't all about one player, it's about the team. Winning = good, even if our first round QB isn't getting reps right now.
-
Even if the Steelers have home field all locked up they will not rest their starters. They'll have a bye the first week of the playoffs and no coach is going to have his starters miss two staight weeks before a big playoff game. That's the recipe for a stale team. They'll play, and play the entire game unless it's a blowout one way or the other.
-
Yeah, but those NE Patriots suck too. I mean, they haven't beat a single team with a winning record on the road. They have 3 wins this year agains teams with a winning record, all of them coming at home. Their one game against a winning team on the road? A loss. Why are their fans all giddy? I think somebody is confusing the NFL with college football. Winning is all that matters. But go ahead and try to defend your position. If you're not able to see that the Bills are playing some of the best football in the NFL right now then (to use a phrase from your book) you don't know football. Only Pit, NE, and Philly are playing better than the Bills are right now. What happened to your "good teams play well in Nov and Dec" montra? Isn't that what the Bills are doing? Or should they B word to the people in the NFL offices that they're schedule isn't hard enough?
-
He also had a key block on Moulds' TD.
-
If you're the Patriots you win the Super Bowl...

The guy might have sucked as a head coach, but he's a fantastic D coordinator. It sounds like sour grapes to try to argue otherwise.
