  1. Willis McGahee is no Thurman Thomas, in more ways than the one illustrated above.
  2. That was Troy Vincent's fault. Fletcher had the middle of the field and was doing his best to move into the passing lane but he just wasn't fast enough. Vincent came over WAY too late (as always).
  3. And how many catches did Evans have once they rolled coverage his way?
  4. I’m not even a big fan of Clements as I think he’s only had one really good year (that being last year) but you go way too far in your criticism of him. I'm not sure he's worth the money that he'll demand on the open market but he's far from a "liability" at the CB position. My biggest beef is that if you spend that kind of scratch on a player he better be a “difference maker”. A guy that makes big plays that help change the outcome of the game in the Bills favor. Clements doesn’t do that very often. He had a chance yesterday, a INT right into his hands that he would have taken back for a TD easily….dropped.
  5. I'd say that winning games would be more benificial to our young players, particularly JP, than losing would guarantee a better draft pick. The numbers show that teams selecting players in the top 5-10 have just as much of a chance of drafting a bust as teams drafting in slots 11+
  6. A list of the top CB FAs this coming year to help aid the discussion: Baltimore Ravens Dale Carter CB Buffalo Bills Nate Clements CB Kevin Thomas CB Cincinnati Bengals Rashad Bauman CB Cleveland Browns Ray Mickens CB Denver Broncos Lenny Walls CB Houston Texans Jason Bell CB Jacksonville Jaguars Terry Cousin CB Kenny Wright CB Kansas City Chiefs DeWayne Washington CB Miami Dolphins Kiwaukee Thomas CB New England Patriots Chad Scott CB Oakland Raiders Renaldo Hill CB Charles Woodson CB Pittsburgh Steelers DeShea Townsend CB San Diego Chargers Jamar Fletcher CB Tennessee Titans Tony Beckham CB Arizona Cardinals Raymond Walls CB Chicago Bears Jerry Azumah CB Detroit Lions Andre Goodman CB R.W. 7. I'm not going to claim that JP's first four games shouldn't count, they should. However, if you look at JP's games since he's come back from being benched his numbers don't look so bad for a young QB. 58/107 (54%) 726 6td 4int for a QB rating of 78.6 Those numbers aren't world beaters, but given the state of this Oline they're not bad for a guy with half a season's worth of starts under his belt.
  8. To be fair to Nate, the Bills were in a zone on the long Chambers reception at the end and Fletch and Vincent were on him. Has Vincent gotten over in time to help cover a WR since the first few weeks of the season? The guy is always late.
  9. The D looks much better?
  10. Those calls were not "correct". You call plays that your team has a chance of executing. This team cannot lineup and smashmouth the Phins when they're stacking 8-9 guys on the line to stop the run. A play action pass in that situation would have been perfect...and I was screaming for it. But it never happened. Teams that play not to lose instead of playing to win generally find a way to lose.
  11. The way this team has been run lately they'd probably scapegoat Bobby April and can him if they did indeed fire someone.
  12. Another brilliant coaching move. Let's sit our best WR on the sidelines for most of the game. That will really help out a young QB.
  13. Sweet, I'll take a free beer. Positives from the game: 1) higher draft pick Now hand over that beer!
  14. I prefer that playcalling to the two runs into the LOS and let Losman get blitzed to death on 3rd and long that they used on the final few drives. The Dolphins punched the Bills in the mouth and they didn't know what else to do so they went into a shell. I don't want the team to throw every down, but they needed to mix it up to keep the D off ballance.
  15. I'd like to see the coaching staff let a fan call the plays on gameday. I couldn't be any worse.
  16. I hate this f'in team.
  17. It doesn't help that the only time they've dropped back to pass this quarter has been on 3rd and long. Let's run two plays into the line and then let Losman throw with an all out blitz in his face. Just pathetic.
  18. I don't know if I've been more irrate over the play calling all year long. This is juat pathetic. Too conservative when they need to be mixing it up and too risky when they need to be pounding the ball. It doesn't get any worse than that.
  19. NS, I can't stand that cute stuff. Just run the ball down their throat, it's pretty simple.
  20. Being a UCLA fan I've seen just about all their games, including today's debacle. Every single back in the country looks like a superstar against the UCLA run "defense". And while he did run between the tackles the holes were so big it was just like running in the open field. I wouldn’t call anybody’s success against UCLA proof that they’ll be able to do it in the pros. There’s a reason that UCLA is dead last in Div. 1 against the run this year.
  21. Count me among the few that aren't so certain of Bush's NFL megastardom. The guy is unbelievable in the open field. A freak of nature who can stop and start on a dime and get to full speed in a few steps. I’m in awe of his physical capabilities. That being said, he's not that great in traffic running between the tackles. He's improved this year but the holes that the USC OL creates wouldn't really be considered "running in traffic" most of the time. They give their backs huge gaps to work with. There's a reason that White gets lots of carries and just about all of the short yardage stuff. It's because Bush isn't that great in traffic. Once in the NFL Bush won't be able to hit the corner as easily as he does in college and is going to have to get better at picking small gaps and hitting them hard…and he better start running much lower than he does currently otherwise he’s going to get tattooed in the NFL. His ball handling leaves something to be desired too. I have never seen the guy switch hands, even on the sideline. I'm not saying the guy will be a bust, far from it, I think he'll be a quality back. I just don't think he's going to be the next mega superstar or the next LT unless he gets much better between the tackles. I’ve seen plenty of great open field runners in college get eaten alive once they get to the NFL. The speed of the game has a way of slowing them down.
  22. This was a pretty big story here in NYC a few weeks back but Edwards came out last week and said that he wouldn't be leaving the Jets for any other coaching spot. Of course, things could change…
  23. If TD gets the axe you can pretty much assume that MM will as well. I can't imagine a new GM coming in here and not wanting to hire his own head coach.
  24. This post would have been a classic if you'd finished it with " and once we get into the playoffs anything can happen!"
  25. He's also allegedly one of the chief culprits of the "love boat" incident. The media blew that out of proportion, but the guy isn't a model citizen by any means.
