Bottom line is Moorman's one of the league leaders in TBs which equates to him not doing his job that well this year.
-
So a third of his kicks that he attempts to pin a team end up in the end zone (and 13% of his total kicks). Mooreman's 9 TBs ties for 5th most in the ENTIRE league and his 13% in the end zone gives him the 6th worse % in the league. Compare that to someone like Stanely of the Texans who has pinned 24 inside the 20 yard line with only 1 TB. Stanely's ave of 38 yards is the worst in the AFC but I'd take a guy that will pin a team and not overkick into the endzone (thereby padding his numbers) You also have guys like Nick Harris of Detroit who has pinned 28 inside the 20 and only had 2 TBs or Mitch Berger in NO who has pinned 26 inside the 20 and only 2 TBs. You get the picture. Mooreman's 9 TBs is horrible when compared to the league's other good punters. Don't get me wrong I like the guy but he was better last season.

He inherited a SB winning team. He rode that roster to some impressive winning seasons. Once that roster faded what has he done? Had 3 non-winning seasons in the past 4 seasons. Really impressive. And yeah, I tag this abysmal season on him. He's obviously a better coach but I compare him riding that roster to Barry Swtizer riding the Cowboy's roster...yet somehow Switzer managed to snag a SB win before being run out of town.
-
Whoops, I missed his name when I went over the roster earlier.
-
He puts points up on the board but at the expense of the rest of the team. How many years did he ignore the running game when he had the best back in the league in Faulk? His philosophy is a risk taking one that equals a lot of short fields for the D and not a lot of time taken off the clock meaning the D is left out to dry. Putting up a lot of points is good and the surface it appears that if you do so you're doing your job as an OC but there's more to offense than simply scoring points (as odd as that may sound). The last guy I'd want coaching this team is Martz. He seems so obsessed with being considered an "offensive genius" that he puts everything else at risk.
-
Agreed, I'm not that happy with how he's played this year actually. Way too many touchbacks for my liking.
-
You could make a case for Merriman out in SD too. He's only a rookie but that guy has brought it all year long.
-
And where has that offensive system gotten them since Vermeil left? Being a head coach takes a lot more than simply bringing a defensive or offensive system over.
-
While I agree that that loss was horrible in my book the win at Indy negates it in the "they don't deserve to make the playoffs" argument.

Actually TD's track record is pretty impressive. Go back and look at what he did with the Steelers (Simon did a post awhile back with his drafts) and even his drafts in Buffalo have been pretty good in terms of how many good players he's selected. What has been his undoing is his inability to build a teamand select a capable head coach.
-
Go back to Parcell's drafts and show me where he has impressed you with his astute player evaluations and ability to work the draft. He's not horrible but he's not that great either. He puts together low risk, solid drafts and makes up for it with his coaching abilities. If he was good at talent evaluation (instead of just average) the guy would have notched another SB or two since he left the Giants (where he wasn't the GM). Hell, even if a guy that had a great track record drafting came out and said "I don't like Losman" I would still say, "so what?" The draft isn't an exact science and like stocks, past results don't guarantee future gains. I can’t believe I have to explain this to anybody.
-
There's no arguing with that logic!
-
Who cares if Parcells did or did not think highly of Losman? The guy has never been a great personel guy just a great coach.
-
I have a feeling Lienhart's stock will drop come draft day and team's aren't going to be as enamored with him as fans are.
-
It's even more of a kick in the face to SD given their tough schedule and the fact that they lost those 5 games by a combined total of 14 points. Ouch.

There's no way GB beats Chicago or Seattle's scrubs. As much as I'd love to see us land Mario Williams I don't think he makes it past pick #2.

Just when you think the Bills are the pits

TV execs love to believe this stuff but the fact is that people tune in to watch good games between winning teams. Nobody is going to watch a crappy GB team get hammered just because Favre is QBing. As for the injury thing that really didn't matter much. I'd actually argue that the team was better off with Green getting hurt as Gado has done a much better job in replacing him. Green looked absolutely horrid in the first 4 games and was in danger of being benched for Davenport (though Davenport’s injury did hurt them as he looked pretty good). They have had several other injuries as well but they effected the Pack about as much as Buffalo's injuries effected the Bills...i.e. they both would be bottom dwellers even with all of their starters. -
I've always heard it as "preparation meets opportunity" which I agree with.

As bad as the Pack are this year they'll still somehow manage to score a few Monday night games next year. -
Personally I don't think his numbers reflect a declining WR, I think they're a reflection of a terrible offense. A young QB learning the ropes, a back up QB that can't pull the trigger, an Oline that can't provide protection and a running game that doesn't scare anybody. The way this offense has been playing there's really no shot for any WR to put up decent numbers.
-
Let JP start all 16 games next year. This team isn't a playoff team and there's no need to sit him on the bench. By the end of next year we should know what we have and if we need to bring in a QB next offseason to get us over the hump then the move should be made then.
-
You obviously never saw WM while he was in college. He has nowhere near the explosiveness and speed he possessed in college. He's bigger and stronger but not "just as good".

Bills still not out of the running...

Although many fans want their teams to lose the games I can assure you the players don't think that way. Every single one of the players on the field will be doing their best to win. -
I guess I'm missing something here. Who said anything about suspending him for what he did over the course of his career? That makes no sense whatsoever.
-
I just don't see why Moulds would want to come back. He's gone through the QB carousel here for 10 years and there's young QB here that prefers a different WR. The Bills don't look like they're going turn this thing around anytime soon...so what does Moulds gain by staying? He essentially has a get out of jail free card. If he wants to take less money he's likely to do it for a team that has a legit shot at winning something soon. If he wants to make all the money he can he'll likely get it from someplace other than the Bills. As much as I'd love to have him back I just don't see it happening.
