  1. I'm curious as to how MM could possibly survive this mess. This team just needs to make a clean sweep and be done with it.
  2. Yeah, that's the reason the team lost all those games.
  3. Not to get the thread off topic but Brooks actually beat Sumner in an empty Senate chamber after adjournment not on the Senate floor.
  4. They just put the story up on espn.com http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2279669]Link[/url]
  5. Just heard Mort on Mike and Mike this morning and he's reporting that Marv will be named the new GM and Mordrak will keep his same duties. Said that MM's job might be safe but nothing is definitive. God help us if Marv is the new GM. Out of football for 10 years and taking a job he's never held in the NFL. I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I would have preferred to have kept TD if this is the alternative.
  6. There's no way Jerry Gray leaves the Bills if Mularkey is retained. Well, unless he gets a HC job somewhere.
  7. Mordrak and Mularkey standing there with Ralph with Marv nowhere to be seen.
  8. Joe Pa is younger than Levy!
  9. It's pretty tough to hire coaches that are currently under contract.
  10. Why are you even bothering?
  11. I think what you're missing is that people (at least most of them) aren't taking enjoyment from TD's losing his job. If/when TD is fired I'm not going to sit here thinking happily about TD packing his bags, saying his goodbyes and sitting at home in a funk wishing he had done things differently. I'm going to be happy because it means the Bills are attempting to make a move to improve the team, simple as that. There is a difference whether you wish to acknowledge it or not.
  12. I must be missing something. Where did the ENTIRE team publicly turn on him? I've seen a few of them voice support for Holcomb getting the opportunity next year but that's it.
  13. Nobody is arguing that a QB can do it all on his own. Only that quality play and stability at the QB position make it much easier to win.
  14. Yeah, you should have watched closer if you think Schobel is a weak spot on this team. He was the best player on D this year.
  15. In the last 3 drafts each of those other cold weather teams you mention has drafted a QB in the first round.
  16. Ahh, I see. Yeah, I agree with you. I'm not a fan of either Donahoe but that doesn't mean he hasn't made some good moves with the team.
  17. It's pretty much 50/50 proposition no matter what position you draft in the first round, QBs are no different in that regards. They are different in that you can't hide them while they learn unless you already have a strong team around them. My main beef with what you say above is the last part. What does using one 1st round draft pick have to do with having a better overall team vs. an average overall team? If a team uses the pick on a CB suddenly they'll have a better team and and average QB but if they use it on a QB they'll have an average team and a better QB? Drafting a QB in the first round doesn't prevent a GM from putting together a "better (overall) team", the things aren't mutually exclusive.
  18. No player in the league puts pressure on the majority of plays...
  19. That's a great line of thinking: "will they be wrong if an outlandish hypothetical happens next year?" I prefer to judge the extension based on what has actually occurred not some fantasy.
  20. LJ also gets to run behind one of the best OLs in the league. That has something to do with his success.
  21. Despite what people think Rosenhaus rarely has clients hold out and generally signs team friendly contracts and gets them to camp on time. This is the reason team GMs like working with the guy. Of all the top contracts in the league Rosenhaus has none of them. The guy has a big mouth and attracts a lot of attention but he's not the guy that most people make him out to be. His bark is much worse than his bite.
  22. Yeah, let him sit on the bench when the team has no shot at the playoffs. How exactly is that the team coming first? The team's best interest is in getting its first round draft pick ready to play, particularly when the season is lost. Not to mention it's very close as to who the best QB on the roster is and in that case you go with the young guy every single time.
  23. Yeah I fixed that after I realized the mistake, thx.
  24. Manning 1st Plummer 2nd Palmer 1st Brady 6th Rothlesberger 1st Leftwich 1st Hasselback 6th Grossman 1st Manning 1st Simms 3rd Delhomme undrafted Brunell 6th Seven of the 12 playoff teams sport QBs that were drafted in the first round (granted Leftwhich may or may not reclaim his starting spot this year if/when healthy). I'm not going to argue that there aren't other ways of getting a QB, obviously there are but I think you're undervauling grabbing a guy with a good pedigree coming out of school. That beging said it seems to be about a 50/50 shot with any QBs drafted in the 1st but the same can pretty much be said of any other position.
