  1. I'm willing to bet that there will be at least one "Fire Jauron" sign in the crowd for the home opener.
  2. One could justify the hiring of any coach by bringing up Bill Belichick: “Hiring a coordinator isn’t necessarily a bad thing, Bill Belichick was a D coordinator and was given an opportunity at some point. Without that opportunity he never would have become the great coach he is.” "You know, Bill Belichick had a losing record at Cleveland so previous success isn't really a requirement of a new hire" "Thankfully we hired a proven winner, like Bill Belichick."
  3. How do you justify it? $$$$$
  4. Having one bad season out of 5 (and an injury riddled one at that) is "running the team into the ground"? The Bills team is already in the ground, I'm not sure why your friends aren't laughing at you already.
  5. Martz is just rationalizing why nobody is interested. I wouldn't want Martz as the Bills HC if he paid me cash for the privilage.
  6. I've seen way worse than that.
  7. So if Clayton says Haslett is out I guess there will most likely be a press conf. next week introducing Haslett as our new head coach.
  8. This is quickly going to turn into a BF or NJSue thread if you're not careful.
  9. At least Singletary could motivate the team by "singing" to them!: I'm Samurai Mike I stop'em cold. Part of the defense, big and bold, I've been jammin' for quite a while, Doin' what's right and settin' the style, Give me a chance, I'll rock you good, Nobody messin' in my neighborhood. I didn't come here lookin' for trouble, I just came to do The Super Bowl Shuffle
  10. Donahoe released a statement: "While we are very proud of the progress made by the Bills organization over the last few seasons, we also recognize the fact that this is a bottom-line business and our record has not been good enough," Donahoe said. "I take full responsibility for that."
  11. Given the choice between the two, sadly the answer is yes, I'd rather have TD.
  12. Yes, I'm mocking a trade for a 37 year old QB that has contemplated retirement and has just come off the worst season of his career. WHAT AM I THINKING?!
  13. I'm not exactly sure how you equate being the only team in the AFC to not make the playoffs (not counting the most recent expansion team) in the 5 years TD has been here to "winning team". Sure that’s a catchy little fact that people like throwing around to discredit TD…but it’s still true. Another flaw in your argument is the way the Bills lost this year. Had the team taken a step back because of our young QB I don't think many people would have complained. Had the D looked good but the O struggled I think TD's job would have been safe. The problem here is that after 5 years both the O and the D are in shambles. This is not "steadily improving", it's falling off a cliff and smashing to pieces at the bottom. All that being said (as I’ve said before) I wasn’t in favor of firing TD just to fire the guy. I was in favor of getting rid of him only if we could bring in somebody who was competent. IMO, Levy doesn’t fit the bill and I would have rather have TD. However, favoring TD over Marv doesn’t mean that TD did a bang up job while he was here.
  14. What do Losman's numbers have to do with the fact that Favre had a horrible season? Not to mention Favre's WRs have nothing to do with the fact that he throws up for grabs balls and make horrible decisions multiple times per game.
  15. Not that I disagree with the basic thrust of your argument but this is where it falls apart. Under TD the Bills were not a good team. You'll always lose this argument because of this, no matter how many good players TD's drafts produced. A GM isn't here to accumulate a bunch of good/great individual players. He's here to put together a winning team.
  16. No doubt, I'd guess that he still has at least 30 INTs in him.
  17. I think we should send them WM and Lee Evans. Hell, why stop at two 1st round draft picks for a QB that has cotemplated retiring for the last 2 years, let's give them Losman too. Three players that were drafted in the first round, now that's a fair trade for an interception machin....errr, future HoF QB!
  18. I would love to see Ben behind this Bills OL. As for Ben "reading the defense better from day 1" you should go find some quotes from Ben about last season where he basically says he had one option on the majority of pass plays. Ben has a much better organization around him, one that puts him in a position to succeed.
  19. They didn't. If the stories circulating at the time were correct they offered Labeu the job but he chose the Pit job instead. As a fallback the Bills went with Gray.
  20. He looks like he just had a quickie with an intern in the bathroom.
  21. So if someone isn't as good as Steve Smith they're not a #1 WR? Then I guess 31 other teams in the league are in need of a #1 wideout...
  22. I'll take the guy that has shown he's clutch time and time again, talent be damned. As long as a QB can make all the throws he needs to (and Brady most certainly can) any extra talent is gravy. Brady makes quicker decisions than Manning and is just as accurate. Tha major difference between the two is that Brady generally comes up big when he needs to, Manning doesn't.
  23. His head? His entire upper body moved. That type of move gets called all the time. I have no clue how the zebras missed it.
  24. There aren't many better reasons than that.
  25. You can't have your starters play no meaningful time in a month and expect them to just turn the switch on come playoff time. I'm guessing they'll look better in the second half, but will it be too late by then? My brother is a huge Indy fan and we've had this conversation for a month now. He's been ranting and raving at Dungy for a month now that if the Colts come out slow/sloppy it's all on Dungy and I agree with him.
