  1. Ahh, the infamous, "a lot of people". A lot of people liked Doug Flutie A lot of people liked Rob Johnson A lot of people didn't like either of them Wow, I can really get into this "A lot of people" thing. One can pretty much use it anyway they want to prove anything they want!
  2. What, is this lifetime?
  3. I'd say we're a bit thin at LB but I'd like to see us shore up both lines before we start spending first round picks at the LB positions. Of course, if the Bills manage to pick up some viable solutions to their line issues in FA perhaps they can look in other directions come draft day.
  4. Perhaps this isn't a fair statement but I also get the feeling that Nate will be one of the players that simply mails it in once he hits his payday.
  5. After half a year under center actually.
  6. You mean a contrast to the "I don't know how good the kid can/will be, I'm willing to give him more than 8 starts"? Yeah, that seems like love and peace...or it might just be rational thought.
  7. If he put up a perfect score you'd still start thread after thread and make post after post ripping the guy.
  8. From everything I've read Mathews is JPs main tutor. He's the guy that goes over and gives JP advice during the games and practices. I understand your desire to want a young guy at the #3 spot but I think that only really applies if you have a Vet QB. With a young QB I think you're better off with a tutor type guy in the 3rd spot. If the Bills want to improve their QBing this year they need to bring in a legit Vet to compete with JP for the starting spot (and dump KH) but I'd leave Mathews at the 3rd spot.
  9. You want numbers, how about this one: The Bills led the league in plays of 20+ yards against them on D. That is an indication of many things and one of them is weak saftey play. It's indicative of Safeties being out of position and/or not making tackles when they need to. Trying to use fumble recoveries (a stat that says Vincent was standing around the pile and not in it) and return yard average (how on earth did you even come up with this one?) to prove that he did a decent job is ridiculous.
  10. How is that nuts? Vincent was consistently late getting over on deep help and is the worst tackler on the D. I don't know if he's washed up or just hasn't made a solid transition to S, either way he's a weak link on the D.
  11. Milloy carries a cap hit of 3, 750, 000 and Vincent 3, 225,000. You'd think with numbers like those (a bit below the average of the top 5 paid Safties) that we'd have one of the best S tandems in the league.
  12. If the refs called offensive PI like that on Irvin I'm not sure Irvin would have had a single catch in either of the SBs. Hell, he might not have had a single reception during his entire career! Yes, I'm being sarcastic...I think.
  13. Guess I'll be the voice of (half) decent. While I thought the Aaron Neville half of the anthom was absolutly horrid I thought the second half when Aretha sang was spectacular, perhaps the best I've heard at the Super Bowl.
  14. Not sure how this one got by them.
  15. To be fair there isn't a team's fan base in the NFL that travels like the Steelers fans. Any team against them in a SB is going to basically be on the road unless they're fortunate enough to be playing in their home city.
  16. I think we have a winner.
  17. I don't have a problem with them not overturning it, I have a problem with them calling it a TD on the field to begin with. If it was going to be called a TD the ref should have had his hands up immediately but the official only called it a TD after Ben was down and reached the ball out over the plane. It's the way it was called a TD that was fishy. Had the official thrown up his hands immediately I don't think anybody would be complaining.
  18. My thoughts exactly. Of course it's not a given that Seattle would score a TD but given the year Alexander had and his TD total I'd say it's pretty likely.
  19. I don't know if they should have won or not but they should have been given the chance to win.
  20. Now if we can just get Willis to buy a few houses for some officials we might have a shot at a SB title.
  21. The media would have given Flutie the MVP though.
  22. NS, that INT might have been the worst throw I've ever seen. He had a WR 10 yards away from him that was open by a good 3 yards and somehow managed to throw it right to the DB.
  23. He also dropped an easy ball that would have given them 1st and 10 at the Steeler 12 yard line. Instead Seattle ended up missing a long FG.
  24. Don't forget they basically took 7 more away from Seattle when they called that phantom holding call that made it 2nd and 20 instead of 1st and goal from the 1. No INT gets thrown (well, most likely) if they have the ball at the 1. Then there's the phantom holding call on the punt return that would have given Seattle the ball on the Pittsburgh 43 or so. Instead Seattle gets the ball on their own 25. It's one thing for a team to say that no single call cost them the game as they had a chance after the call to make plays to win the game. It's another thing when every single time you DO make plays the refs call it back. I was sick to my stomach watching the game and I don’t give a f#ck about Seattle.
  25. I've seen Super Bowls where there were several guys that had pretty good (but not great) games and it was a tough call on who should get it. This is the first SB I've seen where nobody on the winning team deserved the award.
