  1. I'm not a big "what if" guy but I was mad as hell last year when the Bills beat the Bengals...there would be no need to trade up to the #3 spot had they lost.
  2. If the Bills don't use some of that cap space on tying up Clements to a long term deal I'll be pissed. What exactly is the point of letting Moulds go if they're not going to use the saved cap space?
  3. It doesn't matter if Brick is there at #3 because the Titans won't be moving out of that spot. They'll take Leinart if he's still on the board and if not they'll take Young. If the Bills want to move up they'd have to go to the #2 spot although I don't think NO would want to drop all the way back to 8. Even if the Titans were willing to move out of that spot I still wouldn't give up much to move up and take D'Brick. The Bills just have too many needs to be giving away 1st day picks. If Justice has his head on straight I think the kid could be just as good as D'Brick.
  4. I voted and I don't have a clue what I'm talking about. I think this is an appropriate spot to use the smilie for the first time.
  5. Culpepper won't be ready for half the season. I'm sure Harrington believes if he performs very well they wouldn't take the starters role from him....and he's probably right. Who is going to bench a guy that's helping the team win games and put in a guy that hasn't seen live action in over a year? Of course, this all assumes that the Dolphins will be good next year, which isn't exactly a given.
  6. As long as this team thinks this is a rebuilding year (which it obviously is to me) then I'd put a priority on young OL in the early rounds (as long as there are value picks available when the Bills select) and worry about DT later in day 1. If the DT doesn't pan out it'll be easier to find a DT next offseason than it will quality OL help. The bottom line is the Bills OLine is horrid. There's not a single guy on it that would be a starter on any of the better OLines in the league.
  7. I'd like to see them try to move down 2-4 spots and pick up Justice. If they can't find a trade partner then just use the 8th pick on Justice. Then I’d like to see them pick up Deuce Lutui with the second round pick. The more I think about it the more it pisses me off that they cut Fat Sam. He wasn't a world-beater but he was serviceable. By cutting him it created a huge hole that has yet to be filled. This draft is deep at the DT position though and I see no reason to use the top pick on a DT.
  8. The team hasn't made the playoffs in six years, perhaps that has something to do with it. When the Bills start winning the negative talk will stop.
  9. Those tactics wouldn't work in WNY. Do you really think there is that much money in the Buffalo area that Ralph could risk ostracizing the average fan? The average fan is the entire fan base in Buffalo. If Ralph adopted these methods the team would be moving that much faster.
  10. Value Chart Google is a wonderful thing!
  11. The Bills had a guy like that and they released him recently.
  12. It's possible that Mercedes Lewis drops to us in the 2nd round, odder things have happened. If that happens I wouldn't mind grabbing him as he'd represent great value at a position we could use an upgreade on. Davis isn't going to make it to the 8th pick and with all the holes on this team grabbing a TE with the 8th pick would be a luxery we can't afford. I think I'd go with Justice at 8. That being said, I have no idea how we'll stop the run this year with our current roster. As much as I bitched about Adams that wasn't a great cut. It created a huge hole that has yet to be filled.
  13. If the Bills cut him they only take a cap hit for his guaranteed money (i.e. signing bonus). It's impossible to know how much the deal is really for, it could be heavily back-loaded and Price will never see that cash. For instance, if the 4th year of the deal is for $5m then the Bills would get Price for $5m for the first three years and only take a small cap hit for the remainder of the bonus if they cut him after that. I don't understand people who get all bent out of shape about the overall numbers of a deal. Those numbers are generally padded by agents so they can say, "look, I got this guy $10 million over 4 years!"
  14. This was my first thought as well. A few years back there was a lot of talk about him having an eye problem that was inoperable. I have yet to read any article that mentions it.
  15. You can't be considered an offensive genius by running the ball. You must use exotic formations and use plenty of trick plays while throwing the ball 70% of the time. I am pretty confortable with Fairchild though, given the fact that the Rams offense was much more ballanced after he took over the play calling duties last year.
  16. I'm not agreeing with the poster about Dallas making a move, but Parcells isn't the GM of the Cowboys, he doesn't have control over personel decisions (although I'm sure he has significant input). If Jerry Jones wants a QB in the first round he'll take one.
  17. Not that it's going to matter (since nobody will even get the first 7 games correct) but since it seems you spent a bit of time writing the rules of the contest you might want to clarify "week 8". Week 8 is a bye week for the Bills meaning that they'll only have played 7 games by then. Did you mean week 8 or 8 games played by the Bills? Sep 10 @New England L Sep 17 @Miami W Sep 24 N.Y. Jets W Oct 1 Minnesota L Oct 8 @Chicago L Oct 15 @Detroit L Oct 22 New England L Nov 5 Green Bay W Nov 12 @Indianapolis L Nov 19 @Houston W Nov 26 Jacksonville L Dec 3 San Diego L Dec 10 @N.Y. Jets L Dec 17 Miami L Dec 24 Tennessee W Dec 31 @Baltimore L 5-11
  18. My bad, when I read your post for some reason I thought it said a 2nd round pick in 07 and a 1st round pick in 08. Just go ahead and ignore me.
  19. Yeah, he did and he even made the cover of SI the next week. It's been all downhill from there.
  20. And they'll probably put Holcomb in against a bad Jets team at the Ralph and when the Bills win (imagine that, beating a bad team at home) many fans will say, "SEE, HE WINS!" Why does this all sound so familiar?
  21. When the Bills traded with Dallas for their first round pick a few years ago the Cowboys got a 2nd rounder that year and the Bills 1st rounder next year (and that was for a mid-round 1st round pick, not a top 10). Given this, why would the Bills trade away their pick and not recoup a 1st round pick for 2 years (and NO picks for a year)?
  22. If I'm not mistaken the last time the Bills beat the Pats it was an opening day game. Sam Adams' and Lawyer Milloy's first game with the Bills...damn that was a long time ago.
  23. Seeing as the Bills aren't in any hurry to spend the 9 million they're currently under the cap there was no need to cut Moulds. Despite what many posters claim, the Bills held all the cards. They could have simply held on to him. Now, if they actually go out and spend the cash I don't mind the move at all, even for a 5th. But if that cap room just sits there it's a wasted move.
  24. I used to feel this way but after a 6-year drought from the playoffs I'm of the opinion I wouldn't mind being one and done. It's sad what losing brings out.
