Of course, you're leaving out the fact that YOU asked the question of what in his 10 year career we've seen that would make us think he wouldn't do this? So somebody brings up an example and you reply with, "yeah that was 4 years ago". Pure genius.
-
I've seen a WR that cares more about winning than anything else. Sure he cares about his catches, all WRs do, but in his 10 years here I've seen him B word about it mildely after a loss and that's it. Why the sudden change in how he handles it? I'd guess it's because there's more to this story than Mort reported. What have you seen out of Moulds that is anything like this?
-
Based on what I've seen of Moulds in his 10 year career in Buffalo I just can't believe that he'd take himself out of the game and say he's not going to listen to the coaches simply because Evans caught 3 TD passes. It makes no sense what-so-ever. Moulds might have done the above things but there's more to the story than this.

Looking forward to the offseason.....

Of course he can play better than he has this season, he's been hurt just about all of the year. That's not the critera for whether we should keep him or not. Last year when he was healthy he was our best Olinemen so the Bills have to decide if they think he can stay healthy and if just being our best Olinemen is worth that cash. It would be tough to toss away Williams when this line is already in horrible shape, even with his huge cap hit. Personally I think it's a tough decision, a lot tougher than what most on the board believe it to be. -

The "immobile" thing is overplayed. Mobility doesn't really matter, it's being aware of or sensing the rush and being able to step forward or slide sideways to avoid it. Marino was a statue but the guy knew how to avoid pressure. -

I love the announcers and fans that say, "if (insert QB here) has enough time to throw he's a productive/good QB". What they fail to realize is that ANY starting QB with time to throw is productive/good. What seperates the truely good QBs and the also rans is being able to make quick decisions and be accurate even if they don't get 4 seconds to throw. -
Yeah, all those teams lined up to give this fine player a starting job once he was released by the Bills. Btw, don't use stats, because according to the stats RJ was a better QB. Hell, according to the stats RJ was a good QB. I watched the games. I watched the Bills offense average 14 points per game with Flutie at the helm. I watched the D hold teams to less than that many times. You can credit Flutie for those wins if you want, personally, I'll give the nod to the D.

To the people who say moulds is a selfish player
MDH replied to splinter21's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're not being presumptuous yet you know that Ralph did the "right" thing after hearing all sides? I guess you were in the room then. I'm not saying the Moulds is free and clear of any wrong doing, but you're being just as presumptuous as those who think Mularkey is in the wrong. I have no clue who is right or wrong (if anybody), all I know is Mularkey handled the situation poorly. -
The last new real official scoop on Moulds
MDH replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Mularkey claimed he'd "never used that word" (the word being "suspension"). Of course he never used that word, the media just guessed that Mularkey wanted to suspend Moulds and they happened to be right! -
They were in the same class, they both sucked. There's a reason neither got a starting gig once they left the Bills.

Though it's possible that he's knows that pitching a B word, right or wrong, will cost him cash next year. -

According to Mularkey it was a media creation that he wanted a suspension at all... -
How many points per game did the O put up under Flutie? Giving Flutie credit for the Bills wins is like giving Kyle Orton credit for Chicago's success this year.
-
Where in my post did I question your loyalty to the Bills? You're reading something into my post that wasn't there.
-
No, had he done what I suggested there would have been no hoopla and it would have all been taken care of in house. Nobody would have even known that Moulds woulnd't have been starting (or playing) until gameday. And if you don't think Ralph flying into to okay a decision is a sign that the coach doesn't have much power I don't know what to say to you. This situation would have been taken care of by the coach and the GM anywhere else in the league.
-
Fans always B word about players having no loyalty...I wonder why.
-
The Bills would then be the only team in the league where the #2 or #3 WR gets the double team.
-
The above tells you that he didn't handle it correctly. This isn't the same as reporting team injuries where Mularkey doesn’t owe the fans anything. This is the team's marquee player being suspended (for one of his few remaining home games), if the coach wants to suspend him then he's going to take a ton of flack if the fans think its not justified. The only way to justify it is to let us know what's going on. This entire thing has been handled so poorly it's ridiculous. Mularkey would have been better served to fine Moulds and sit him for the upcoming game (either all of it or part of it). It would have been, essentially, the same effect without all the drama. It also would have saved Mularkey the embarrassment of needing to have the 86-year old owner fly in and okay his decision. Mularkey wanted to flex his muscles and ended up looking like the weak guy on the beach who gets sand kicked in his face.
-
Umm, yeah, sure. The Bills D that played well and caused lots of turnovers last year and the running offense that was effective in the second half of the season is playing for Dallas right now.
-
Au contraire, the Bills team from 2001 was 3-13. This Bills team is looking 5-11 right in the face. That's a 2 game improvement in 5 years. Every 5 years we'll improve by a few games. This is TD's 25 year plan to get us into the playoffs. I really think it's unfair of you to say that we no better off than when we started, it's very short sighted of you.
-
Sal needs to open up his eyes and start watching the games. The biggest difference is not their mobility. They are completely different types of QBs. Holcomb lives off the short dump off pass and never wanted to pull the trigger on the long or intermediate ball. Losman goes long at least a few times a game and has no hesitation throwing the 10-15 yard outs. The mobility is a difference but by no means the most glaring one.
-
At this point I dream of mediocrity! Oh, if only we were mediocre we’d have a legit shot at the division.
-
There was no way that Ralph wasn't going to back managment. But the simple fact that he came to Buffalo to find out for himself what was going on doesn't boad well for TD or Mularkey. If he had faith in those two he would have simply said to them over the phone, "do what you think is best for the team."
-
He's done a great job of turning the Bills offense into one predicated on the power running attack. This, of course, helps our young QB immensely.

I'm eagerly awaiting the "Check out the Check the Draft post"
