  1. that's the thing: the guy who used to live here had Direct TV I just don't want the dish... internet is a PIA
  2. sorry... What I meant was will Direct TV hassle you and make you prove you "can't get Driect TV" first, before they allow you to sign up? I'm asking because they refused to let me buy the online streaming service last year because they deemed me "able" to get direct TV service.
  3. is it going to be like the computer version where they only let you sign up if you cannot get satellite?
  4. quit yer whining! WE GOT OUR GAHHHHHHH!Ryan is a real good QB!
  5. Gailey is just another coach... not the worst, but not elite by any means GREAT coordinator, though. We have Dom Capers as our HC
  6. Why use a rusty knife? If you tore their lungs out I don't think infection would be an issue. And yes, anyone who doesn't GET IT that the Bills know what they are doing MUST be a moron... I mean, look at all the success and results... LOL
  7. Trent Edwards fan last August to people like me who bashed him non-stop: :nana: Me to those same people after two weeks of the REAL FOOTBALL SEASON when it MATTERS how you perform: :nana: I always like to see something REAL before I commit to the na-na faces.
  8. They should be AT CAMP broadcasting live from there. Schopp actually said "I can't wait until the Bills get to 0-4 so we can talk about hockey." They are so dismissive of football that I've just stopped listening and started turning to Sirius NFL radio for some real football talk with people who know/care about football. The grand irony is that without the Bills WGR would not survive.
  9. The quality/prestige of the assistants is always LESS then the quality and prestige of the boss. Gailey was a bargain bin hire who nobody else wanted. Why would top assistants come to work for him when they would have greater cache around the league than their boss?
  10. Makes sense.... there are only so many ears in the WNY market as well... people in Rochester and Syracuse can hear WGR's local programming on "sister stations" so WECK is non-existent in comparison I really don't think there's room for another big-time talk station in this market... Maybe if a million more people lived here... But sure, there can be a bunch of small-time, little stations with very little auidence
  11. Merriman playing like the Merriman people recognize from his heyday well would be a HUGE surprise. THAT SAID, the contract is pretty minimal if he doesn't pan out. No big deal, they just cut him. Might as well take the gamble. As you can see, it has some fans all excited that MERRIMAN plays here.
  12. I thought Riter was just promoted to program director or something similar? Too bad... I used to love his show on WGR at 7pm.... Why can't they pay someone a few hundred bucks a week to do a 7-10pm slot? $100/hr is pretty good, and I'm sure people would jump at the chance. I think any chance of Brad ever working that slot again are gone, so hopefully he lands on his feet. I wonder what will happen to guys like Mendola and Riter. There's only so many places to work in sports talk radio in Buffalo, NY. They might have to switch gigs or leave town.
  13. The Bills are not moving, PERIOD. And that includes Toronto. Like I said though, to any non-Bills fan around the country, they "make sense" to move to Toronto. So we will keep hearing about it.
  14. They DO have overall ratings in Madden 12. What you saw is one PAGE of his traits, not his ratings. Every player has an overall rating, plus a whole bunch of ratings like they have always had (speed, strength, acceleration, pass block, run block, awareness, throw power... etc.) The screen the OP posted is a new addition. Depending on how confident and consistent a player is, his ratings will change slightly (or drastically) from week to week depending on how he performs (this is used in Franchise mode). Even within a game, if you get 3 sacks with Dareus (for example) his ratings will actually increase, making it more likely that he will do even better as the game goes on. It is their attempt to account for momentum. It looks cool, but we'll see. In any event, overall ratings ARE in the game. Brady and Brees are the 2 highest rated QB at 99 and 98 OVR. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://ps3media.ign.com/ps3/image/article/116/1168111/madden-nfl-12-20110513114254632.jpg&imgrefurl=http://clame.org.mx/madden-nfl-12-screenshots&usg=__4bdwjYxDzjezDUJj6evcTVZTSVw=&h=720&w=1280&sz=404&hl=en&start=24&zoom=1&tbnid=KvRkIM47VHvVlM:&tbnh=110&tbnw=195&ei=iQbxTf_2DsLegQfsofmBAw&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmadden%2B12%2Bscreenshots%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D606%26tbm%3Disch&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=323&vpy=317&dur=1052&hovh=168&hovw=300&tx=148&ty=126&page=3&ndsp=12&ved=1t:429,r:5,s:24&biw=1024&bih=606[/img]"]FA system showing some OVR ratings
  15. they still have the numbers for each player (Speed, Strength, etc) but these are additional traits that are supposed to make the players feel more unique Their big feature this year is Dynamic Player Performance. For example, if you sack a QB a few times, his confidence gets shaky, and his attributes go down as much as 10 points for the rest of the game to simulate the effect that beating on a QB has as the game goes on.... That page for Dareus was his "traits" that help determine how he plays in the game, as well as how wild his ratings swings will be. With a low consistency rating, he might be a 70OVR one week and a 92OVR the next, depending on how he plays. The more consistent he is, the less his ratings swing week to week in franchise mode. As players get older, they generally get more consistent. It's a lot more complicated than that: go check out the Madden website for the details. It looks like they actually tried this year, which is cool for gamers who want a decent NFL game!
