  1. You are aware that JP missed most of training camp his rookie year and consequently didn't get many reps in practice that entire year. Sure he had the classroom time but that isn't a substitution for actual playing time. It's like expecting someone who just got his/her masters degree to come in and run a buisness smoothly. It's just not going to happen, classroom time is nice but it's no substitution for experience. You might not think so but comparing JP's second year with most QB's rookie year isn't a far fetched idea.
  2. I'm not a fan of how the Bills patched up the OL this offseason but with a new scheme and three new starters (if you count Peters) I'm willing to give them some time before I pass judement on them.
  3. It depends on how well he plays. If he gets a full 16 starts and looks like he did last year (particularly his first 4 starts) then it's time to move on. If he starts off slowly but shows steady growth then you may give him more time. If it's still a question at the end of the season I have no trouble with drafting a QB early next year and letting him compete with JP for the job.
  4. It's Rashomon, but not a bad reference none-the-less.
  5. I didn't watch the game but I read the play by play. From reading the play by play it was obvious to me that JP still has trouble making good decisions...
  6. These were the two guys I was the most impressed with last night, particularly Williams. The guy was all over the place, crashing through the line and disrupting plays in the backfield. There was one play, near the end of the first half the Panthers were running an inside screen. Williams was rushing up field, saw the screen, stopped and went to pick up the RB. Weinke (sp) got pressured and threw a bad ball but I was still impressed that a rookie in his first pre-season game made the right read.
  7. I'll have to go back and look but I'm pretty sure it wasn't a delay. Peters enganged Peppers very briefly, then spotted the blitzing LB and moved to pick him up. It's almost as if he expected WM to pick up Peppers (though WM also went and picked up the blitzing LB).
  8. Why would calling you ignorant hurt your feelings? In this case, it's the truth. You haven't watched the game yet you offer up your opinions of it and the players who played. Did you honestly think people would think your opinons of a game you haven't seen were worth reading? Do YOU (honestly) think your opinions of a game you haven't seen are worth much?
  9. The only thing worse than the Bills' 1st quarter tonight might be your fantasy draft.
  10. Imagine that, the OL in the first half of the first pre-season game doesn't look better than the OL did all of last year. I'm not a big fan of the moves they've made on the OL but I'm willing to give them a chance to prove me wrong.
  11. They need to find a way to get him the ball more often.
  12. I don't have to see the specific pass, I saw every pass the guy threw last year. I'm pretty sure I'm imagining it accurately.
  13. But he's accurate! He's completed all his passes (for no first downs) and has thrown a TD!
  14. I don't think Evans will be in the game long enough to do much (and when he is he'll be playing with a QB that can't get him the ball). Look for WM to have a lot of receptions with Holcomb in the game...and perhaps Royal too. I'll say Lionel Gates will have the biggest game for the Bills.
  15. I agree though I think that has more to do with the QBs he's been associated with. Marvin Harrison wouldn't be near the HoF either if he had the QBs and offenses Moulds has worked with.
  16. You know everybody mentions Winfield's tackling (and it is fantastic) but the guy is a very good cover corner too. I always thought he was just as good, if not better, than Clements (with the exception of Clements one outstanding year two years ago).
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens at all. I don't think they'll name a starter for the season until after the 3rd pre-season game. Hopefully they at least narrow it down to two after the second, otherwise the eventual starter isn't going to get many reps in camp.
  18. How on Earth can they give the best KO return man in the league a rating of 85? He's not even the highest rated returner on the Bills.
  19. I want these guys to STFU and show me they're the best on the field. I'll take Tomlinson any day of the week. He doesn't need to open his mouth and convince everybody how good he is, his play speaks for itself.
  20. It's not this simple. Before you get into the athlete vs. the intelligent QB you have to make sure of one thing; that the intelligent QB can make all the necessary throws (which someone like Manning can definitely do). If the intelligent QB can make ALL the throws I'd obviously prefer him over a guy with a great arm or with sprinters speed. However, I'll take Michael Vick over a guy that's smart but can't throw the 15 yard out. Having a guy at QB that can't use the entire field kills an offense.
  21. I saw an interview a few years ago in which VJ Sing said the exact same thing when posed with the question, "What's your biggest weakness?" Needless to say from then on I've never been a fan of Sing.
  22. I'm really interested in checking out our TEs, namely Royal but also Everett. I'm hoping the gaping hole that TE was last year for us is really the position of strength that I've been led to believe thus far.
  23. He makes me wish Billy Joe Hobert were a Bill again.
  24. Wow, this is a little harsh don't you think?
